If 'he' is me Ronin, sorry that I cannot comprehend your magnificent trading here. You see, years in the business tells me that this is in fact fake. There, it's been said. I said what everyone reading this is thinking but could not say. There's no way you are trading this in a real money, real-time environment. If you want to prove me wrong, just post your statements to confirm this incredible trade run you have here. That's it. If not, head back to after the fact trading land and have fun. Anyone can be a great trader AFTER the fact, which is all you've shown here. You are taking +2 when the market barely moves and then +30 when it does move. You post everything after it happened. The one time you posted a live trade in the journal, IT FAILED. The one time I saw you in the chat room posting live trades, you were taking TICKS. If you want to add any validity to this little journal of yours, post trades in real-time WITH stops and profit targets. You are very good at posting entries and conveniently leaving off where your stop loss and/or profit target(s) are. I'm just curious as to what the purpose of your little make believe journal really is. I mean, do you enjoy seeing what could have been? Do you sit there wondering 'what if'? Or maybe we'll later see what Ronin has for sale for all the newbies to trade just like him!

James - just an observation - 1) Great looking spinning top short 2) Into a great looking pullback hammer Throw up an SMA and you'll see the pullback clear as day. I took +2 on each of those (fixed targets, esp counter-trend).

That was me after reading that... My honest suggestion is this - play around with he strategy button. I think it's pretty easy and I am not nearly as computer literate as others around here. But, as a side discussion, I was serious with the 'why make this complicated' comment... Just some food for thought.
-
Just asking since the returns are just out of this world! Never met a trader that was just so right, all the time.
-
Ronin - produce statements and I'll have funds wired for you to trade next week. How much you want/need to scale this? This is a serious request. If these numbers can be verified by a broker, myself and a few contacts I have can easily flood you with new money. Of course - EVERYTHING will be independently verified. Let me know.
-
Don - you can do it. I use brackets OCO's all the time. Give me an actual example and I'll see if I can figure it out. If not, I'll try to find out for you. PS Why make things so difficult in the first place?

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I

Wow, I feel stupid after reading that. I guess just seeing an inverted hammer for a quick pop is easier for me. -

James, Nice short on the inverted hammer! Seems like an awful lot of work to simply short an inverted hammer after a big move due to news. Just throw up a candle chart with an oscillator or something and off you go... -

Nice doji to short there James! I was right with you there but for different reasons. -
Thanks MC! Our resident computer guru!

Is the CME the Google of the Exchanges?
brownsfan019 replied to brownsfan019's topic in General Discussion
Ok, we were both in the same book, just different pages. I think google could easily create an exchange that would simply put everyone else out of business. Talk about a massive undertaking, but they have the funds and tech savy to do so. Maybe one of their web crawlers will stumble across our thread here and get the wheels moving. All we ask is for a small cut of the profits, right? :o -
Here's the problem MC with that - I did not receive actual Vista disks with the computer. What they offered was the ability to create a backup copy of Windows after I customized it. I deleted as much garbage as I could, but... So the best I have right now is an image of what it looked like after I cleaned it up the best I could. Is there a way around this to get a fresh Vista Install w/o all this trash on it? I believe I can order a recovery disk from Compaq, but not sure if that will just have all the same junk on it like it has now... What do you think?
-
Follow up to my Vista experience - everything appears to be good until it goes into Sleep Mode or just not even used for awhile. When the computer comes out of Sleep Mode, it actually never comes out of it... The stupid thing just freezes up. So I then turned the Sleep Mode function off (when laptop lid is shut) and while it looks like the computer is running as normal, again, when opening it up and using again the damn thing acts all funny and freezes up again. I have never seen a version of windows freeze so freakin much. Talk about frustrating. I'm about ready to tell my dad just shut it down each and every night. That should be unnecessary, but apparently not. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know as I am not versed in Vista at all. Example from tonight - I was trying to simply unmute his volume from the system tray and by double clicking the volume thing, EVERYTHING froze up. EVERYTHING. I lost my desktop, system tray and bar at the bottom. This was from trying to unmute the damn laptop. If this is what vista offers, then I am going to stay far away from this for as long as possible. I can't believe just trying to unmute the laptop caused a massive freeze... :crap:

Can't find the casino... I was kicking butt too!

Eva, You can also sometimes find decent pay for seminars at http://www.tradersexpo.com I believe Adrienne and others have spoken there in the past, so that could be a way to see some of these coaches live before plunking down any serious cash. Again, have to do your homework first.
-
Eva, The coach/mentor thing is a tricky one. You'll want to screen any services that you pay for very hard. In particular, you'll want: Someone that trades similar to you. No point of having a scalper mentor you if you plan to trade 1-3 times a day. Similar/same markets. References that you can contact would be great. Local or in the area, would be even better. Need everything in writing when paying. The value of a coach/mentor cannot be underestimated. The problem in trading is that there are many 'coaches' out there more than willing to snatch up your dollars. You really have to do some research to make sure it's a good fit. As a side note, I've thought about doing something along these lines down the road. The problem is that I think my fees would not be manageable for a new trader. That's the catch 22 here - any good coach, is probably going to be real expensive. And when new to trading, that can be a large capital expenditure. I would start with checking the ads and articles in trading magazines. One that I see a lot BUT CANNOT SPEAK TO THE VALUE is http://www.tradingontarget.com/ Here's a thread I started on the same topic: http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f37/trading-coaches-good-bad-or-indifferent-2084.html Keep us posted on your search. If you came back to this thread and provided reviews, that would help many traders out.

I see what you did there... How about this... You will feel like :puke: after you say :ciao: to 1st place. No doubt will set in and you'll spend hours :missy: wondering how I did it. And in the end, all you'll get is: :bang head: & & :hmmmm: You'll simply be left... :applaud: Ok, that's gotta be some kind of smilie record or something...

47 here now and I can't believe how warm it feels for Jan!

Most definitely Mr Ed! I was looking for quick and easy options but you are correct - the real money is in OPM (Other Peoples' Money). There are a few different avenues to take on the daytrading side. The main two that come to mind right now (in futures) would be a CTA or Hedge Fund setup. Of course, there's more to it than just setting up a website and such, but it is a great way to go for the LONG TERM and if you want to go that route. The nice thing about C2 and/or MarketZar is that it's quick and easy.

Is the CME the Google of the Exchanges?
brownsfan019 replied to brownsfan019's topic in General Discussion
runner - Wow, you took that in a completely different direction! My use of Google was more of an analogy - that the CME is to exchanges as to what Google is to the web. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Who knows what it takes to start an exchange. Lots of time and money, both of which Google has. That'd be weird... trading on the Googex. -
Here's a way for someone to one up MarketZar - create the same contests and such, but pay out like a poker tourney does! I'm assuming MZ is making money here, but who knows how much. $1500 for first is only 30 paying people at $50/ea. I have no idea what the field size is (or could be) but if you paid out like a poker tourney - something like $50 + 5 and the size of the pots became sizable, that would make things a lot more interesting. Along those lines, wonder if there's a way for TL to do this James. Just an idea - but if you created a TL trading tourney once a month or something, that could make for some good times. And it doesn't have to be a lot either - just like a $10 buy-in (or whatever is comfortable for everyone) and top 3 payout. Now, how you pull this off, no idea. I'm just the idea man.
