They've been courting me for a couple of weeks to sign up. nice paper tarding available. which has pointed out (to me) an obvious weakness to me. There are numerous periods of time where vix is high that the system doesnt work and thousands are lost. low volatility and trending markets work fine but win hundreds.... thus watchout draw downs can be huge.... the loss periods of time often last 2 weeks... you dont lose for 1 or 2 months... how many trades would you have put on? how high is high? etc. They repeat over and over again that it's your choice to make the trades not automated etc. I'm not going in for it... 2. Can you explain more of how to use VSA for equity options? I am interested in options and think VSA might be of use. Thanks, BBJ
  3. Waveslider....mushys lots of them up island. I have friends who bring them in for a pretty good living most years. Amazing the huge variety and differences in taste. If you would, please Have a look at the file I have posted in VSA thread and see if you see any way to improve my directional analysis for options. I am new to threads etc, but have 8500 hours dedicated to my search for the Holy Grail of options trading...hehehe. I feel T/A stuff is pretty useless as all past history. VSA seems more current and tradeable with my signals being only a few hours ancient history. Thanks, BBJ in Campbell River
  4. Also, This file contains equities, date, and direction... I see most here trading futures, I play stock options in US markets. Hope this doesnt discourage many people, but thought you should know. Also need 5 posts to reply to your responses!
  5. looks like a couple of people have looked at the file. Hopefully it makes some sense to someone and a pattern can be found. I'm looking for a very old version of vsa which I think I may still have somewhere! As I recall it was pretty good, but I had other things going on at the time. from the activity here it seems it has some validity and use and I think T/A stuff is crap as is all past history! Thanks and hoping to hear from someone, BBJ
  6. I'm a Newbie here on thread. Are you folks using the VSA software or writing/studying your own programs? I have developed my own screener and am looking for simple method to derive directional biases. I would love to post a file of my screened picks and see if there is any addl clues you guys might ferret out as to direction. Anyone interested? Thanks Oh well, I think I've posted it anyway. Is zipped a comma delimited filr w/ date, ticker my direction choice. These are picked for large moves in next 4 months time, but I really like the ones that move immediately (obviously) but they often move against me in short term. Any thoughts using vsa would be appreciated. I think I have an old VSA program somewhere??? Thanks for any input you guys might have. BBJ_list.zip
