  1. Yeah from 4.50(the price I said it needed to take- although VWAP was 4.25 at that point). I wouldn't say I'm unhappy that it has carried on without me. My main idea was a sell-off and the reversal was not at what I had looked for as ideal "location" for a long. Still most of the session so who knows what it may bring.
  2. If 4.50 is taken out right now though, I'm not sure any of that will matter for the moment.
  3. For info purposes:- 5.75 is 3day VAL, 6.25 is low vol, but actually looking at it 7.50 is low vol(lower than 6.25) and is the 50% on the gap from yesterday's close.
  4. Haha! Often the way of it right? Let's see if there's any follow through, otherwise the original target is on imo.
  5. IMF global growth outlook downgraded. I'm out at a shitty 3.75. Was hoping for a flick up to 5.75/6.50 on release but it didn't happen. Wasn't a primary trading idea so a couple of points(1.75) was okay I guess. (although it's going to break now by the looks of things!! lol)
  6. Yes possibly. Also, they could wait for fig to see if positive, see a bounce then hit it at a better price for a move down to 98.75/96.75.
  7. not looking great. wanted to see a surge-like reversal and fig in 5mins
  8. Was looking to short somewhere on open. Had 5.25 in mind but shows how if you hesistate you lose out as I missed it completely took a couple of short scratches at shitty prices, then reversed @2.00 from lame selling. Would like to see what happens at high.
  9. Okay, I didn't really trade yesterday. Test higher, test lower with poor structure(vol). Says no common view of value. Overnight so far, we have tested 1302.25. I suspect 1298.75/96.75 (and possible 1288.25) need to be tested to legitimise any further move higher. It's also FOMC tomorrow so are we likely to blast-off before? We'll see. 10.50, 13.25 and 17.50 are possible key points to the up side.
  10. If we want to talk about opens and their use for example, perhaps we can do some proper stats on them.
  11. Okay, let's try to keep the information objective and practical. Stating trades without backing them up with reasons why you took the trade isn't useful. Saying you look at this but can't say why also isn't useful. Talk about the e-minis and how they are trading, ideas to trade them and anything else directly relating to them. NO FLUFF PLEASE Anyway. All pretty useful stuff in general, so let's try to keep it that way and make it an even better thread
  12. Answer to my question was 3 times in nearly 2 years. This equates to around 0.5% of the time. Not the most fun days but there is now a very nice point of reference. Tight range at current extreme of a move should alert us to possible weakness ahead. Although don't think that's a forgone conclusion either. 10.25 is now a very useful price to watch imo.
  13. Nice trade gosu. Agreed on Josh. Relax. It sucks, but at least you didn't. It's about the sum of all parts, not one trade or one day. Here's something to take your mind off things. Can you tell me what percentage of days in the past 2 years have had a VPOC with volume of over 150k?
  14. be objective. if it goes, have a way of getting out if it reverses(other than ur nerves).
  15. interesting aspect here is that ES is heavy on its vpoc and yet the open was rejected there. if it takes the vpoc again(by more than a tick) I would think we'll see new highs.
  16. It rejected yesterday's range(and vetoed the gap close by 3 ticks!), then couldn't kick back off the 5.75 opening range low to test lower despite some decent selling after rubbish philly fed read(plus rev down), when it held the VPOC//5.75 on retest it looked like new highs to me. Like you said though, not much participation from OTF yet. I want to see if the IB high/Open area holds or not. Beyond current high there are a number of prices of interest over a range from 10.50-15. I have to say, that is never my favourite although it can be good if you don't get caught at the wrong level
  17. What's your thinking guys? Drifting down with low conviction? Rejection lower? Or too soon to tell?
