  1. Actually, I love it now (with the exception of the higher cost)...gave it another shot when I saw that JH keeps recommending it...i just got used to the fact that the lines don't have handles, does not bother me at all anymore...in any case- I find it easier now to clone and cut lines than with other programs. The best channel tool I have seen was Nkhoi's or Stepan's for Ninja, but I love the degapping of TN and the fact that you can set lines to appear in all timeframes....you can draw TL's on a 60 min and it will show up on your 5 min. Am lobbying to get them to move past lines together with the chart, that would be awesome.. hth, Vienna
  2. And here is a chart (Jan 04)..."rolling market" describes a market mode which causes fanning/ recycling of Pt 3's (term courtesy of patrader). HTH, Vienna
  3. Ok I'll make a revival attempt. Who amongst the older hands here ever fully differentiated the Laterals? Seems like many people here participated in the Lat Drill and follow up. I went through the thread, starting page 141, and at page 196- two months later- it did not seem anybody had really gone to the bottom of it... am still reading. My motivation to start was the comment bySpyder that if you reached full differentiation, you would always know which direction a lat would exit to...obviously, a worthwhile goal. He insists that this is binary, exact.... Spyder divided the process into 3 parts: 1. Context, 2. Order of things, 3. The Thing itself (the Lat). He suggested to start differentiating "the thing itself" (the lateral), in the specific case of the Lat drill, he started with Sym lats. Now: I don't know if he did so in order to teach people the process of differentiation or if he did so because the Thing is actually important in itself... let me explain: I started categorizing them (the Thing). Please see attached as an example, just 1 page (out of 8 or 9)...I ended up with at least 40 cases, probably more like 60.... there are Sym lats, Fbp and FTP Lat Formations, as well as Lat Movements, whose first bar can be Dom or Nondom, with increasing or decreasing volume, OB's or Ibgs's, with boundary bars on the dom, the nondom side or both, and these boundary bars can have increasing or decreasing volume etc....you get the idea. My big conundrum is: How do I know which of the factors overwhelms which? If Context and The Order of Things is more important than the Thing, why did Spyder insist on differentiating the Thing first? And how do I know- when reviewing old charts- which of the factors caused Change or Continuation? Was it the Thing or the Context? For Example, if you have a lat occurring at a fast Pt 2-3 (Order of things), I have observed it to resolve in the Dom direction in most cases, no matter if the boundary bars are on top or on bottom, if it is a sym lat or not, if the volume of the boundary bar is increasing or not...even a Lat Movement will do. So- what is the point in differentiating "the thing", if it is all Context- or "Order of Things" dependent? If anybody actually fully understands this, I would greatly appreciate any guidance! Perhaps you want to contact me by PM in order not to clog up the thread...we can chat on skype... or post here, I will publish the results of my research here when done... TIA, Vienna
  4. Thank you very much! I have all of these...just did not recall that Str-Sq was discussed in them. I was referring to some that are just about Str-Squ, by Spyder I think...but this should do . Vienna
  5. Hi, does anybody have Stretch- Squeeze videos? The old links don't work..I think I know what to look for (a burst over 2 in the direction of the trade), but a video would sure help... tyvm, Vienna
  6. Very useful...in case somebody else from the old hands feels inspired, here is a free capture software : http://download.cnet.com/BB-FlashBack-Express-Free-Edition/3000-13633_4-10365043.html Works great...courtesy of Gosu (who told me about it)... Vienna
  7. Ki, I think you are right...that looks like just a tape..annotation error. Thanks, Vienna
  8. I am creating one, but I need some input here from the old hands that actually understand it... if there are any:)
  9. Just saw that my blue point 3 was misplaced on the chart I posted...it had migrated and I forgot to move it.. a pt 3 obviously has to come after a pt 2, not before ... Moving too fast, Sorry for that, Vienna
  10. Xio, notice how a very similar situation developed in the ES today...first, had you entered when you saw inc vol at the green Pt 3,you would have been late and at the top.... Second, see how confusing things get when you don't know you are in some kind of lateral...see the big red bar b 17? Perfect R2R, looking for a short, right? ...as Ivo would say, this is the market trying to f**k you.... If, however, you know that you are in a Lat, you wait to get a low-risk entry at the bottom (b 19 in this case)... hth, Vienna
  11. First, if you wait for inc. Volume, you will be too late in many cases. You have to enter before and confirm with inc Volume. That's the way I would see it:...you had a 'Lateral Movement' (for sure some kind of Flaw/ Internal) at a point 2, so you know you are traversing to Pt. 3...you knew that at the line marked "A" (2 bars close within first bar). You know it should mean continuation, but I have often seen weird gaussians (Inc Dom Vol) at Lat FBO's. If you know you are in a Lat at Pt. 2, you could try to enter at the bottom of it (the 2nd fbo would have been the great hindsight spot), and you could either exit at the top or move the stop to be at the top... the lat movement turned into a Lateral Traverse, fanning your up RTL. Please note that that is just my interpretation.... hth, Vienna
  12. Gosu, you wrote "Nowadays I rarely go back to review the recordings."...then why do you record (if not to review/ debrief)? Thanks, Vienna
  13. Ivo, Believe it or not, I was thinking of adding the variations I did not pick up the first time (and I found quite a few, each case can look completely different Intrabar) and then actually creating a flash animation for each instance... Vienna
  14. Gosu, Ivo: So how exactly do you use Camtasia? Do you record the whole day and then review parts in the evening? Do you review the whole thing hi-speed? Do you just turn on Camtasia when a trade is coming up? Thanks, Vienna
  15. In that case, you would have the case next row down- IBGS. I guess you are saying that the only way you would enter a "Case A or B" entry (the FTT bar creates both a LL and a LH) would be if you get an IBGS, intrabar? thanks, Vienna
  16. Yes, saw after doing them that I had missed some...Outside bar IBGS too... will adjust. And yes, of course it's static
  17. Ivo, one more: Any thoughts about FBO's? When do your recognize it is an FBO and not a BO? I seem to have gotten out of trades that closed right at the line (with dec. Volume, sometimes increasing), then the next bar went thru and I realized I had gotten out too early..sometimes the opposite etc. What do you look for to tell you if it's the real thing? Thanks, Vienna
  18. Ivo, great stuff...love the explanation about the timing. Had been thinking about doing exactly that (the screenshots or the camtasia), or to collect them in a systematic way. After reading your comments I made a schematic drawing about the cases that can occur at FTT's (XIO see the IBGS)...Ivo -I know you hate the terms Of course these are schematics, for example the VE could occur 2 bars earlier etc... I indicated the breakout point that would have to occur to confirm the FTT after the fact... Note that the .pdf file has 2 pages. What might be interesting is to add volume/ PRV that one would expect to see in these situations...maybe I'll give it a shot. good trading, Vienna FTT CASES.pdf
  19. Sorry for the serial posting, will go back and hibernate/lurk soon, I promise..... See attached 60 Min chart for an example how the de-gapped Trendlines often act as support/resistance...amazes me every time.
  20. Ivo, Interesting...I did that drill months back where i guessed (and drew) the price bars all day long by looking at volume only...at the end, I "knew" what kind of price bar was being formed in realtime in most cases...for example, if volume keeps accelerating to the end of the bar, you know the bar has closed at the top...so the two are completely connected, makes sense that you have trained yourself to do the reverse (for you, Volume is contained in the price bar, therefore you don't need it). That is called screentime lol. Personally, I do like PRV , because it really does seem to give a heads up before things happen, especially if you watch the YM PRV at critical points, and I like to see pace levels, since they help clarify the big picture for me....but there are many ways to make this work. You probably are very sensitized to Price bar behavior, which might explain your great posts about the FTT! thanks, Vienna
  21. Xio, You might want to reconsider that statement... regards, Vienna
  22. Ki, ..you could be right....this was a rocket (see the Volume level), they sometimes don't give you a tape break...then you get 3 bars inside and a huge pace drop on b 80...so i am thinking "Sym Lat". 17 bars closed inside the shadow of b76, basically going LTR...so I annotated "Lat traverse". Note that inside of it, a nondom completed... This is just what I see, could be different or flawed of course...
