For the past 5 days I have been waiting for the past two trading sessions unfold in my favor. Actually, I should say that they would have. Today was the second session and I had "better" trades than the 1st session but I missed them all and actually ended up down by a tic after 2 trades. Both were good trades but I exited too early. I got knocked off my horse and got out of the zone. The zone is vital to my success. I got knocked out because my wife swung the door wide open with our baby in her arms and entered the room to ask me a question. It took her awhile just to ask it. This aggravated me tremendously. Perhaps it was because I have told her a number of times not to interrupt me as it has caused me to lose my zone. I felt it was just disrespectful. She could have at least opened it a little and quickly asked me in a quiet manner. I always assumed I would remain calmer as I progressed as a trader but I'm more easily ticked off now. The more I understand my "zone" the more I'm easily ticked off because I clearly know when I've been knocked out of it. Is it just me or is it like this for everyone?

My turn in the chair - Ego,Validation and bad behaviour
rock replied to BlowFish's topic in Trading Psychology
become in humility and gratitutude for what you receive from the markets. You become elevated mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Right on. If I'm not in a solid mental state,I will probably lose money. The feeling of a lesser self worth and the fear of failure creeps in and takes over my emotions. One negative leads to another negative and I turn into a mindless mouse clicking zombie. Be Zen. heehee -

Just got my book. "mind over markets" seem like an easier read to me so far. However, I haven't read the more difficult material yet. -
harsh didn't even cross my mind. Communication can be tricky. i bet it was just a misunderstanding.

Yeah, I was looking into those online savnigs accounts. I doubt we willl need it for an emergency esp since it isn't much right now. The real reason is because in my family we have always had personal savings to dip into for business, but I'm not sure our family culture will continue this way with the younger generations. It's just been embedded into my way of thinking or perhaps even more so I may have an inner feeling to save the money where it is a low risk. I've actually been considering a long term treasury bond since she has enough for a $1k bond now but I'm not quite sure I understand the valuations in the long term. Anyway, just fishing for ideas.

What music do you listen to when you're trading?
rock replied to Nick1984's topic in General Discussion
Gladiator? how so? Listening to Jack Johnson. My daughter likes his voice. Prob since he did the Curious George song. -
Soultrader, yet you make me feel small time. :p I used to sell on ebay and textbooks as well. I was no powerseller. I hustled a lot of car parts back in the day. I actually sold the texts on campus. I don't even know how to stay competitive on amazon and its getting tougher to sell books. Hmm...whatever happened to my ambition?!?! I prob would buy new landscaping equipemt in exchange for a large return but my wife won't allow it. My 4 year old would then be purchasing a AAA bond of dad.

My daughter has a 1000usd in her savings account. Whats a good investment for this meager amount? If possible, I'd like to be able to liquidate if need be since we are a young family without much savings.

after borrowing it from the library a couple of times i finally ordered the darn book. I have a tendency to doze off or space out to just about anything so you can only imagine how difficult it is to read this one. -

Would you rather study economics or finance in college?

My experiences with H&R are not good. High standard fees for a mediocre return. My dad used to handle a lot of tax returns for various organizations and he had to leave a local cpa due to performance issues. I did some fishing and found a great local cpa who dishes out advice. I've never meet an accountant who could offer any advice at a place like H&R. I guess like most things you have to spot out the quality accountant to suit your needs whether its at an H&R Block or whatever.

Silence can have an opposite effect on me and drive me nuts! I'm the type of guy who has a difficult time sitting still so that may have something to do with it. -
I've been checking out the chat and usually there isn't anyone there. Whats going on?

AHHEUT! How do you spell that Spartan shout?

Bad time for RFID right now. It has proved to be too costly for suppliers. They don't care for the use of them as the benefits are just not there. Lots of companies have unsuccessfully tried to implement the systems.

I'm in search of an "unordinary" job. I've been thinking about becoming a cop; if I can anyway. I was just curious if there were any pilots here. Flying an aircraft is one fantasy that I will probably never do.

Are there any law enforcement officers or pilots on this forum?
