  1. I just saw Die Hard 4.0 a couple of days ago. Now thats what would happen if the system collapsed!
  2. That second video is really good. Is that St. Germain? If its not you should try St. Germain its very jazzy but has influences from many other styles. I'm not a huge fan of main stream hip hop that you hear on the radio etc but theres one hip hop artist who I really do like a lot named Saul Williams. He's a poet who puts his writing to music. He's about to release a new album as well which has some wicked beats. Heres one of my fav songs by Saul - List of Demands Here's one of his actual poems performed live
  3. Do you like Grandmaster Flash? I love that song called "The Message" thats a classic. If you're getting into beats etc check out LTJ Bukem very good drum n bass style stuff.
  4. BTW Thanks for putting up an AC/DC song Cooter. Thost boys are from my home town here in Melbourne! We got a street named after them hehe. Heres my fav AC/DC track: AC/DC - Thunderstruck
  5. Brown I love Korn as well. The clip with The Cure is gold. Here's one of my fav Cure clips: A few other clips of songs I like hope you like Nine Inch Nails - Closer David Bowie - I'm Afraid of Americans David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust (live) Faith No More - Ashes to Ashes Tomahawk - Point and Click (Live)
  6. I went for a walk this morning and at the local ground they were playing rugby. We have a large NZ population down in my suburn and before the match started they did the Haka as well. Its a great spectacle to watch in real life. There's different variations on it as well. It is part of a ritual war dance performed by the Maori tribes. Those Maori's are big guys! I heard a joke once about which country would be the hardest to invade. The answer was New Zealand cause the whole country is full of bouncers hehe.
  7. Hehe ok deal I wont remind you of 2006 but I will remind you of this: Ball of the century
  8. Yea fully. To me if they're pumping this much cash into the markets they must be concerned with liquidity, and also trying to prop up their currency. I wonder if all this is in accord with Basel II? Will be interesting to see if the BIS has anything to say about this.
  9. Yea I heard about that major cash injection. Wasn't it like $130b? If they're worried about liquidity then thats not a good sign! 3 years from now is when I'm looking to dip my toes into property, cause our houses here are really over inflated. This is a lot like the Asian financial crisis. We have a lot of unregulated lending to risky debtors, over inflated asset prices, governmental intervention..... thats a bit of a warning sign. Lucky most FX markets are freely (or dirty) floated and not fixed so any meltdown wouldn't be as harsh. The Bank for International Settlements must be having a lot of late nights trying to stabalise things.
  10. I thought that it might be nice to have a thread dedicated to various music clips to songs you like. I love music as it can inspire a variety of emotions within you. So post up some of your favourite songs and their clips! Anything goes, any genre, don't be shy fellas, let the good times roll! Here's my first contribution: Sepultura - Ratamahatta
  11. Lol I had these guys come to Melbourne down from Pittsburg (spelling?) and they loooved our accents. They kept on asking us to say things like "can't" because to them it sound like a part of the female anatomy hehe. BTW: A Pom is what we call the English. Pommie Bastard is often used in relation to English people when they beat us at anything (rare though that is). To any Englishman reading this....see you at the Ashes!
  12. I'm not too familiar with the names of these candles. Ask me what a shooting star is and I'll look to the sky and what a hammer is and I'll go to a tool shed hehe. But I do look at the candles and I do make decisions based on their shapes. I pay attention to the wicks and the "fatness" of a candle if that makes sense. If i see a fat candle then for me it means that in that particular time frame the move looks like its stronger (especially if its supported by good volume). If there is a long wick on either end of the candle to me that means that there was buying/selling pressure that rejected price from its high/low. I usually only look at the candles around pivot points
  13. Oh yea I remember that. I was at a pub watching that (hard to believe that was 4 years ago now lol). There were 4 Pommies there cheering along and when Wilkinson booted that the whole pub went silent except for these four blokes. Needless to say, they weren't the most popular guys in the place haha. I reckon the Frenchies have a good chance this year.
  14. That workout in the youtube clip has a lot of plyometrics in it which is really good for MMA fighters or any fighter in general as it helps to develop explosive power through speed. That being said to relieve stress I have two things that do the trick each time. I love to exercise and play sports. Secondly is sex. Sex is a fantastic stress relief! I find that if I haven't had a root at least 3-5 times a week I can't function but thats probabbly a lot to do with my age at the moments haha. Reading/films are also great to relax my mind. I strongly believe in the old mens sana in corpore sana motto.
  15. No probs I've generally found lots of people like the game after they've seen it played a few times. Some of those marks are awesome, they get so much height!
  16. Btw, as an ex-powerlifter you should love doing all those big compounds. The technique you use to lift the weight is different to BB though. I always aim for hypertrophy and complete muscular failure in my sets (I'm a fan of Mike Mentzer's training style) and so I keep strict form as best I can and I keep my ego in check when lifting. I'd rather lift a lighter weight correctly than a heavy weight incorrectly. Many guys say they have 200+ pound bench presses but you see them lower the bar down only 15-20 cms and press back up thinking they're somehow awesome... lol. With bad form I can bench around 140 kilos or more not sure what my 1RM is though. If I take it seriously its hard to bench 110kgs with strict form! Squatting is the same, some guys load up a bar with 200+ kilograms and squat down a few inches, convulse back up. It looks like they're trying to make love to the air in front of them haha!
  17. 1800 cals a day is not really a lot especially at your height, you're starving your muscles! Basically for the last 4 months I've been bulking eating as much as I could every day and I didn't really care what I ate, i just needed the cals. I started my cutting a week ago to get ready for our summer. Basically I've just started by making small changes to my diet. Instead of full fat milk, cheese, yoghurt etc I've switched to low fat. I also have started adding in more protein powder into my diet to increase my protein intake as I reduce carbs. Fat intake remains the same its about a 40/45/15 split between proetin/carbs/fat but I'm not that strick. By base metabolic rate needs approx 3000 cals a day to maintain and when you add in the fact that I work out I need around 3400 to maintain my weight. To begin with I started to cut out 300 cals a day from my diet through simple food substitutions and started walking 20 mins a day after a workout and 1hr a day on my off days. Also water intake has increased. I'm drinking 3-4 liters of water a day at a minimum. In my first week I've dropped 1/2 a pound and thats about right. I don't want to loose faster than that because any weight loss with be catabolic and I don't want to undo all that hard work at the gym to pack on the muscle mass. In 2 weeks I'll start adding in boxing to my weekly exercise routine as it's both fun and fantastic at burning off fat. Try hitting a heavy bag for 4 rounds it's not easy! Plyometric exercies will also start to come in around week 4-5 of my cutting routine. Plyometric jumps and leg work will be the bulk of my plyometric exercise routine. Plyometrics help to maintain muscle mass but develop explosive power through fast movements. Fantastic if you're training as a sprinter, boxer, or football (any code) player. After 8 weeks the diet will become very strict. I'll start to slightly starve my body with a 2300 calorie per day diet plus daily cardio. On training days, 30 mins after sessions. On off days 2 hours of cardio. On the off days 2 sessions of HIIT sprints (hill sprints) will be incorporated to the routine as well as walking (i hate jogging, its bad for my knees and its only marginally better than walking at a brisk pace). As for whey with raw oats...I LOVE IT. The oats add a nice texture to the drink and its a great source of slow release carbs. I have that in the morning with b'fast (my biggest meal of the day). Take your carbs in early in the morning and afternoon so you're fuelled up for the day! As for exercises I'm a great fan of compound exercises both when bulking and cutting. Bench press, deadlifts, squats, dips, pull-ups, bent over rows etc are the best exercises imho. Also olympic type lifts such as snatches, clean and press are great too. I only really do isoloation exercies to hit stubborn muscles that haven't popped out enough from compounds, so i'll do bicep curls, shrugs, and calves in isolation. I also use isolation to pre-exhaust a major muscle before I do a big compound lift.
  18. I'm a complete candlestick noob and I'll be following these discussions carefully. For me only reason I was using candles over any other type of chart was cause they looked prettier!
  19. Yea you can here in Australia as well as in NZ. League players as well as Union players can make farily lucritive deals. The better known players will get yearly salaries of 500k or more plus sponsorship deals etc. It doesn't compare with an AFL player, a football/soccer player in a major league, or an NFL player but they still make enough professionally to make a decent living. In Australia, most of our team also have degrees in various fields so they can continue a career after they can't keep on playing. Edit: What did you think of the AFL clips?
  20. Rugby is a tougher physical game than NFL football cause of the lack of physical protection via pads and helmets but the game isn't played in the same way either. Rugby flows along however NFL stops and starts all the time with incomplete plays etc holding things up. I see NFL more like a game of Chess between the coaches who try to outsmart eachother with various plays. I guess the money that NFL players make is due to the relative popularity of the sport within its domestic sphere as compared to other sports. You can't compare the money NFL players make with those who play real football (or soccer if you prefer). David Beckham got paid $36 million just to sign with LA Galaxy. Hes making about $1.5 miliion a week to stay with them as well. Cooter: Rugby is really different from our AFL (Australian Rules Football). Aussie rules is popular here in Victoria (my state), South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. AFL is is also a running game played with a smaller oval ball. Some complicated rules which I wont go into now lol. Best thing about the game is seeing a spectacular mark being taken (catching the ball while in flight to get a free uncontested kick), or some of the big hits taken (no protection worn either) I've uploaded a cpl of youtube videos of some of the AFL's best marks and hits hope you like
  21. Rugby world cup is going to start soon in France. Anybody on these forums follow rugby (and yes I mean union not that league gaff that barbarians play)? For those of you in the US used to NFL its kind of similar to NFL except the guys don't wear armour and helmets I'm hoping Australia does well but the All Blacks (New Zealand) will probabbly kill us. As it's in France, they have a real great chance of winning. Can't wait till it starts! For those of you who have never seen an All Black Haka before a match i've posted a link. Our sheep shagging brothers across the Tasman do look pretty cool when they do this!
  22. I think that age has a lot to do with it. You're still in your teens and even though I'm not very much older than you, when I think back I can still remember that I was a very different person now than I was 4 years ago. In reading a lot of your posts since you joined to forum I think that what you've done is that you're trying to grow up too quickly. You're a very mature young man with a good head on your shoulders but you also seem to be in a real rush to become a successful entrepreneur, a millionaire before you're thirty etc. These are a lot of pressures that you're heaping upon your shoulders and it's no wonder you can feel down. Why don't you just take some time off trading for a long time and just enjoy your youth while you still have it? Go on an overseas trip for a whole year and see the world. Expand your cultural horizons. Go see Venice, the Eiffel Tower, The Great Wall of China, the Pyramids etc... These are experiences that will live on with you your whole life. Have wild flings with random chicks and enjoy being reckless while you still don't have all the responsibilities that full adult life brings. You have your whole life ahead of you to worry about that stuff! I don't think that things like paper trading etc will be a cure to your ills. Always remember "you're only as young as the woman you feel" heheh had to throw that in. On a totally unrelated note and small hijack: Soul, you have coffee in cans in Japan? Is it carbonated..? lol sounds funny.
  23. Its a good idea if ppl have the time to keep updating it. Here in Aus I always see a very large correlation between our stock markets and commodity prices especially metals such as nickel, copper, gold, and zinc.
  24. The money management question has always puzzled me. Lets say you decide to take the plunge and become a full time trader and you have saved up $20k and decide to place $10k in your trading account and $10k to suppliment your living expenses for a while. So you start trading and lets assume you're successfull consistenty and making 20 YM points per day trading 1-2 contracts. So assume you're making anywhere between $500-1000 per week. Your original $10k wont last too long if your knocking out the rent, going out, etc etc so soon you find yourself having to rely on your trading profits to fund your lifestyle. Drawing down from your account limits your accounts ability to grow so that you can start trading more contracts to make even more money. This is the biggest conundrum. How do you fund your lifestyle and expect to continue growing your account unless you have some other avenue to have funds coming in to fund day to day living expenses? If you're starting out trading 1 contract at a time you're not going to make a lot of money, and nobody is going to make 20 YM points a day, every day, day in day out. There will be off days where you take a net loss which hinders progress as well. How have you dealt with this problem?
  25. In my trading routing I use a 5 min candle as my "long term" trend chart and these types of candles don't seem to happen very often on the 30 min break outs plays. Have you noticed whether these set ups occur on even longer time frame like your 15 min compared to a 5 min or 233t time frame?
