HI_THERE started following DTosc for ThinkorSwim, INYO - What is the Best BROKER + PLATFORM for ETFs Trading, BLACKLIST of Brokers and and 7 others
-
Yep. I am using Radar Screen these days and am impressed. Quote delivery is top-notch and it is easy to integrate custom scanning criteria. My major concern with market scanners is quote accuracy, and latency. I have not exprienced any problems with these thus far while using Radar Screen.

yes....hehe....i"m just a miser. The payments dont make a dent in my profits. But one has to be careful not to have auto-debit going to 100 different companies that claim to increase your profits, yet only 2 or 3 do. You could easily be shelling out $25K / month. So--by my nature--I am always a skeptic and like to do my research. It's one thing to make profits; it is quite another thing to keep profits and live well from them.

+ 1 for Interactive Brokers.

I have to agree. TOS is good for options, but terrible for futures and stocks. Especially so these days. They used to be an outstanding platform but since they were acquired by TDAmeritrade, their customer service, platform stability and technology has declined steeply.....almost off the cliff. If you trade for a living, and need a stable platform, avoid TOS. I use it, but only for certain indicators which I can't find coded in EasyLanguage...and it is not my primary trading rig.
-
I don't think they ever released the code for it. There was another version floating around but it stopped working.
-
Sounds like you have it then. :helloooo:
-
I agree with Tams. The description was vague...and you didn't provide much information. What is the name of that oscillator? If it is a detrended oscillator, there is a default "DetrendedPriceOsc" aready built into TOS. I think we would need more information to comment further.

I have no interest in conversing with you RandomTask. In fact, I have turned off my email alerts to hedge against having to hear from the likes of blokes like you. So you now have this thread to yourself. :haha: You can dislike that company all you like: it doesn't affect me. But your attack on me was unwarranted. You should use this website as an educational base, instead of a personal platform to whine. If you are blaming an indicator for your inability to trade, then "methinks" you should re-formulate. Goodday, mate. And good luck.

Actually, although I am not directly affiliated with the compnay I do personally know the web designer. However, I have been trading with the Thinkorswim platform since 2002, when it was just Investools. And have been trading for a living since 1997. The facts are, and It is obvious that: 1.) You are an idiot, and quite possible a very unhappy and unsuccessful trader. 2.) They are not my sites. 3.) I have only mentioned these sites in response to direct questions and becuase I am convinced of their superiority as regards the TOS platform. 4.) I make over $10 K a week and have successfully for over 10 years now. And am qualified to make whatever statements I so choose. :haha: 5.) You did not answer the question and obviously need someone to blame for your lack of prowess in the markets. 6.) I have made 25 posts--6 times more than you--on a great many subjects, and have only mentioned TSI indicators a few measily times. 7.) And a casual galnce at YOUR post history shows that your negative remarks to me were the very first post you have ever made since joining in February. Excellent timing. I personally have no vested interest and do not care if you use or like TSI indicators...or any other indicators for that matter. However, attacks against me were unsubstantiated, woefully uninformed, dear chap, and unwarranted. Each individual can decide for him/herself if they want to follow up on any statement I make in life. After I make that statement, I really wouldn't care. I don't even KNOW you: I spend more time on the blue seas than I do in these forums, mate. If you are that acrimonious and bitter at the world I suggest you blame yourself for leveraging your house against the markets--or whatever dumb thing you must have done to go spewing nonsense in these forums. Ask your old boss for your job back...if he'll have you. Trading is obviously not your forte.
-
That I don't know. I do know, however, that the guy who does the videos for TSI helped start them (I doubt highly he is involved with any "snake oil"), and the site is less 2 weeks old (TSI announced it in their emails). Did you have a bad experience with them within the last 2 weeks?

You might want to check these guys out. Apparently they custom-code TOS indicators. Thinkscript Indicators

I am highly appreciated of all those that responded. @Uexkuell and BlowFish: Yes, I have a near-perfect system which combines IB and thinkorswim. I use IB's Trader Workstation and custom study for thinkorswim called TSI WFRT. Combined, my returns are impressive. I have some custom volume profiles that I want to integrate into a dedicated market scanner but was looking for something separate from the platforms I'm using. I will contemplate your input. Thanx again.
-
Yeh. I'm impressed. I very well may go that route. Only problem, I trade with IB. I could open a TS account but I dont want to be paying $100/month just for the market scanner if I don't need to. You know of any other alternatives? thanx for the response btw.

I daytrade. Almost exclusively stocks. What is the best market scanner? Specifically, I want a low-cost scanner that will allow me to CREATE CUSTOM STUDIES for scanning. I do not need platform for placing orders....merely a scanner. I need RELIABILITY and low-latency. That is to say, I need to be able to scan the markets--with my custom formulas--and get near-instant results. And I need a platform that works everytime I use it. I am thinking about eSIGNAL MARKET SCANNER but I am not sure if I can create my own custom formulas. Also, I want to be using a SOLID CODING LANGUAGE. I need input from others. Finally, let me reiterate that I do not care about using historical studies, MACDs Boll Bands, or other such non-sense. I need to be able to scan based on my own CUSTOM STUDIES....and I need reliability. Thanx. All comments welcome.

Look into thinkorswim. There's a good expose about it here: http://www.thinkswimindicators.com/previously-tutorials/the-tos-platform.html
