  1. LOL, you're busted now, Soul.
  2. Tin, Good point, I have heard alot of good things about ThinkorSwim...I may end up giving them a shot at some point...right now my main concern is being able to follow contracts the course data I am using allows me to follow, but I am going to check ToS out. Thanks again
  3. Tin, exactly. As a matter of fact, I spoke with the programmer of button trader, and the live program holds overnight, just not the sim, so that's pretty much what I needed....but as far as what contracts, I'm not totally sure yet, as I am following the Cisco course, but MB Trading doesn't carry many of the contracts the Cisco data covers....so that's what made me say that. Thanks again for the help though man. Of course, I am always open to suggestions and new ideas, so if you did have anything that would fit the bill I'd love to hear! Thanks again
  4. Okey doke, I am taking the Cisco futures course, and as ant and a few others who have taken the course know, one of the main strategies is a breakout strategy for swing trading.....Since I work during the day between about 11am-8pm, What I'm looking for is a broker that will allow me to set a stop or limit order at the breakout price, and if that order gets executed, a stop loss will automatically be set. I don't want to enter a limit order (or stop order) and then have to place my stop loss order, and then leave for work since I cannot actively manage my trades, because of course, if the stop loss order is hit, and the breakout price order is not touch , I'll be going the wrong direction, which could become a sticky situation....I have seen MB Trading offer this (unfortunately they do not offer the contracts I am looking for) and Button Trader is EXACTLY what I'd be looking for, the only drawback is that Button Trader does not hold orders overnight, so that would rule out being able to use it for swing trade. According to the programmer I contacted, he states open positions are automatically closed at End of Day. Other than that, Button Trader would be what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any alternatives? I can't wait until I'm able to actively manage my trades, but until then....... If my question didn't make enough sense, please let me know and I'll clarify....Thanks in advance!
  5. Thanks Ant, great info. Very handy stuff! Nate
  6. lol I know what you mean man.
  7. Definitely man, drop me a line and I'll help as much as possible. It definitely would be helpful to have someone to discuss the course with, as it gets pretty technical and Don Jones only allows about 15 minutes a week or so (which is totally understandable) for questions....so if anything comes up I'll be happy to help as much as I can. Also, I definitely DEFINITELY suggest reading all of the free info on his site (there is a TON) of it, because that is the foundation of the course, and if you don't read it first, you'll end up reading it when you start the course, as the course starts building on top of the knowledge you are assumed by him to have from the free info before the course started.
  8. Hey JayRemy, Ant's right. Don probably is out of the office or whatever you call it, since the holidays and all. When I signed up he called me and we talked for about an hour to get the course introduction, etc down pat before I started. He's really helpful and all all around a good guy. Try shooting him an email ciscofutures@hotmail.com or he has the phone numbers on the website if that doesn't work. Let me know if you don't hear anything.
  9. Thanks Tin, I checked out the site, looks really neat. I look forward to learning enough about MP, etc to make more informed decisions! Thanks for the heads up!
  10. Don't forget to check out the articles and videos in the Lab and Trading Resources section. James has really put together some great stuff. There is a wealth of information available for free!
  11. Traderbong, Welcome aboard! I am currently taking the Long Course by Cisco, and it's definitely an eye opener. I like it better than anything I have come across so far, but mind you, that's just my opinion! This is an excellent place to share ideas and ask questions and pass along knowledge! James really goes out of his way to provide learning materials to the members here, and we have some great guys and gals here that are very unselfish with their knowledge (Ezduzzit, Raul, TinGull, Mr Paul, Texxas, etc).
  12. Like James Dalton says in Mind Over Markets regarding intuition, he compares it to Mike Singletary knowing how to read an offense without even really thinking about it because he has studied it to the point of second nature. I have heard alot of people say "intuition" is the downfall of traders, but that is ridiculous in my opinion, at least for a trader that uses his brain to draw up a strategy based on market condition.
  13. You're right James. Valuable learning experience!
  14. I was checking my email this morning, and I found out I won the UK lottery, and without even entering! My problems are solved! I'm done trading! But seriously, in the event that you are genuinely following these forecasts,I want to take the chance to state for the record, like Torero said, even these huge scientific communities can't even predict weather accurately, and I really wouldn't put any stock in some joe schmoe's forecasts. Why would they sell them to you if they worked consistently? That would be a waste of time and money on their part. Like Torero said also, what if that person gets Ebola or hit by a car or Polonium poisoning? To survive, you need to become self-reliant. This is a great place to learn and discuss how to become a self sufficient trader, and we'd be more than happy to have you around.
  15. This is about as close to spam as it gets. Since Soul and Torero let it slide, I'm gonna stand fast on this one, but I've seen way too many forum topics on other boards start getting out of hand in a hurry over this kind of posting.
  16. You're welcome, glad to do it. Hopefully I'll be of more help in the future as I learn more! Feel free to drop me an email or pm if you ever want to discuss the course once you start! It definitely would be helpful to compare notes on the course, (you'll see what I mean once you get started!).
  17. I'm with Ant, I just finished the Steenbarger book and it's very insightful, although I'd say it focuses mostly on the day trader, its principles are equally applicable to any trader.
  18. By the way, when I say it's not overly difficult, I definitely don't mean that its a walk in the park or anything, it's very in-depth and requires alot of work at understanding and applying the knowledge, but if you are willing to try, it is doable! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Ant definitely knows what he's talking about, so keep an eye on his posts and you'll learn alot, I did.
  19. Ant, Hey thanks man, when I am more qualified, I'll definitely let you know anything I come across in my studies that may be of interest to you regarding any data or programs, etc. Thanks for the help!
  20. Thanks James, this helps out. I am still learning and many terms I come cross end up being disjointed by the context, so thanks!
  21. Ant (since you took the Cisco course) or anyone here, do you use the Cisco data, or otherwiase have any experience or opinions on it? I ask because to me it seems many people who have taken the Cisco course end up creating their own ideas and usually state other data sources (Market Delta, etc) and I was curious if anyone here uses the Cisco data? I am presently taking the Long Course, and love it, though I think I am a glutton for punishment, and I really like the way Cisco has the data set up as far as Visual Graphic, etc, but since I can't say at this point that i know enough to really have an opinion either way, I was wondering if most would say they end up seeking trading data, etc from elsewhere. Thanks!
  22. I agree with you on that one. Like in Raising Arizona, then he translates over to something like 8mm and the whole time you're half expecting something funny to come out of his mouth.
  23. Soul, Man, Requiem for a Dream is awesome, but it makes me want to go off in the woods and blow my brains out! Heat is definitely up there..I also like Collateral....and Anchorman. LOL
