  1. lol yeah I agree....rates are dropping right now, at least where I work...just checked..... Houses are popping up for sale like crazy in Pensacola FL....It is nuts... My strategy: Roy Jones, jr lives here...and if I am lucky, maybe he got an ARM and is gonna have to drop the ball on this one.... oh yeah. like Brownsfan said..there may be an upgrade in the near future. lol but something tells me Roy Jones, jr didn't finance under an ARM...or maybe at all. *sigh* back to the ol' drawing board I guess.
  2. Yeah you're right about that. It is the same mentality that allows one to break into someone else's home and get attacked by their dog and sue for damages....and win.... The victim mentality/entitlement complex runs rampant these days. :frustrating:
  3. Yep. That is why one should generally make it a practice to actually read a contract in a business transaction involving hundreds of thousands of dollars. I hate when people try to seek someone to blame for them being an idiot. Everyone makes mistakes, and when you do, it's YOUR OWN FAULT.
  4. Great book. I am reading it now. I find it most insightful. Already well on its way to securing a place on my top 5 list. I plan on posting more once I finish, but I really really like what Dalton has to say. This, in my opinion, is a much "easier" read, not referring to the subject matter, but to the conversational writing style vs the somewhat academic one in MoM. I really like the ideas, as it allows for the smart and clever to exploit their strengths, rather than learning the market as some sort of rote process.
  5. Hey Ant, I definitely do not disagree with you. I think you hit the nail on the head! I think that is the epitome of a discretionary trader. Study a range of factors and decide what they are telling you. Reminds me of what William Gallacher said, in that as great as computers are, you cannot teach it to do things that humans can do intuitively... For instance, when you look at someone's face, how do you recognize it? Yes, you can say there are certain characteristics about them that stick out, but that is not really how you recognize THEM. It merely narrows down your possibilities of who it is. You cannot really program that sort of thing into a computer. There are many many many factors that your brain pulls together for you that would be impossible to explain or program into a computer. Yes, purely systematic trading relies on probabilities and statistics as well....but without a human brain to interpret the data, this could lead to doing some pretty stupid things. Just because you know that most speed limits on highways are 55 mph, doesn't mean that if it is snowing and sleeting that you should still drive 55 mph...or if the air in your tires is low or if you have worn brake pads, etc..... You can do some amazing things with computers, and obviously, as demonstrated by some of the most famous traders out there, you can make money trading using programmed systems, etc..... But then again, you could in theory go play out in the street every day your whole life and not get run over by a car either...but I wouldn't recommend trying it.
  6. Isn't Harvey Walsh the guy on America's Most Wanted?
  7. Life is such and such is life. Hang in there bro.
  8. To cut weight, be a real man and try a PSMF (Protein Sparing Modified Fast). You will drop weight so fast it is scary. Painful, but effective.
  9. Yeah, he has some excellent ideas, however, it seems that his method is so intuitive to him and his 30 years of trading it...that it is a little tough to grasp properly for others....there is a lot more that goes into it all than just the 3 lines for him...he's an awesome trader, but at the same time, proof that one still has to find their own way, even with a good method presented to them. By the way, where is a good place to read up on how Linda Raschke uses the 3/10/16? Her site, or is there a better resource you know of?
  10. Outstanding post, Ant. This is also similar to another discretionary trader I highly respect, Finley "Chick" Goslin. He is old school and has been around the block on this stuff. He says that we simply cannot compete with the institutions or funds with their virtually limitless computer systems and supply/demand information. There is simply no way, and it is borderline clinically delusional to think otherwise. There are funds that have armies of traders and analysts and researchers....you have to break the game down to something you can have an edge on. He uses a 3/10/16 MACD (actually the SMR proprietary indicators, pretty much the same thing) and to make a long story short, breaks trading into an up or down numbers game. Using price action and momentum, he shows that it can be done., and very very well at that. We cannot compete in an an analyzing, number-crunching contest...but we can be very competitive in a SEEING contest.
  11. I really haven't followed that in quite some time...Ronnie is and always has been a freak of nature.....Being a Trader, my bets on him, since he has the highest odds I guess. lol I wish they had more people like Sergio Olivia, Lee Haney, Frank Zane and Larry Scott, or even the great Sandow....Now THAT is bodybuilding. I admit, I work out almost strictly for efficiency and GPP these days...though I do from time to time do some BB phases...since I live on the beach and all. LOL
  12. lol it's a military saying. yes, insulin shock can kill you in a matter of minutes. You should read about DNP if you haven't already to really see some crazy stuff in bodybuilding! lol
  13. It is due in part to being high mileage... however, I believe it is mainly the painkillers and other drugs (NOT STEROIDS) that cause this... I believe it mainly their lifestyle, the same way that it isn't rock music that kills these young musicians, it is the partying and drugs.... PT WILL NEVER KILL YOU. YOU ALWAYS PASS OUT FIRST. NOBODY EVER DROWNED IN SWEAT.
  14. heh heh I work at a mortgage company and I think that is pretty frigging funny. LOL The way that these places set people up, it's sad but true, as far as the poster goes. I work at a Credit Union, so we don't do subprime. Thank God I have a VA loan!
  15. Mike Mentzer's brother died young too. To be a truly ripped requires major effort...but my point was that the average person would be amazed at what the body will look like if you just do some physical activity and strip some fat off.... Ever looked at an anatomy chart? Everyone has those same muscles....fat covers them up. Everyone has a six pack....whether or not it is covered up is another story.
  16. Pain is good. Extreme pain is extremely good.
  17. Also something to keep in mind.... unless you are an elite level athlete or training for a specific event (ie a fight) then trust me, any physical activity will help. You would be shocked at how the body will adapt to anything, whether the good old 4x8 scheme or anything really. Even walking and jogging will turn your physique into something fairly impressive. Some will be luckier than others in the genetics aspect, meaning that their even looking at weights seem to grow muscle...but others may have to work a little harder.... All in all though, don't worry about making it into a science unless you are elite level. The main thing you should focus on is a) doing physical activity in the first place b) doing physical activity in the first place c) doing physical activity in the first place d) keeping a healthy variety for your sanity and motivation's sake. You will be amazed at your progress by keeping it simple- just like trading. You will know if/when it is time to get complicated. I am no genius, but I was in charge of physical training for my division and later, the whole Operations dept while active duty. Everyone always scored in the top ranks on my watch. Check out StewSmith.com he is a former Navy SEAL and he helped me design a lot of my programs when I was in the military. He's a good guy.
  18. I think it's kinda like Santa Claus. It's not really a lie, but it's not really the truth either.
  19. Hey nice Teddy Roosevelt quote at the bottom. One of my faves from the military days. Very good quote. Good luck.
  20. I tried the demo and whle it looked nice...it was too frustrating for me..but maybe that is my fault... At first glance, Sierra sort of reminded me of ensign...but that is only on a cursory observation.
  21. Yeah I agree with you, but keep in mind that your body synthesizes its own creatine. It's approximated to be about 2g a day, but of course it varies. But hey if your body already makes it, maybe its not the best idea to add more, you know? Yeah colon cancer is some scary stuff man.
  22. Good idea. Looking forward to seeing it unfold man.
  23. Creatine definitely works. Just go with a reputable company...I would say if there is one legal non hormonal supplement that works, it is creatine. No questions. Make sure to drink a bunch of water with it though.
