  1. Nice dog Chris! How much does he weigh?
  2. I've got a German Shepherd and a Old English Bulldog....great dogs. Dogs really are a man's best friend. I know it sounds silly. But there's something about having dogs. Like Walter said about his cats...they can be a pain...but it's definitely worth it.
  3. lol, naaah definitely still want to know what's up with the sleep cycle fluctuations....but damned if Blu-Ray's post wasn't hilarious.
  4. Nick's right, also look into Cissus Quadrangularis...good stuff for the problems you mentioned...
  5. Just dropping in- Great thread Walter!
  6. Hey Walter, I see where you're coming from..it is really strange how all of a sudden one day you start sleeping less and feeling fine, and then next thing you know you start requiring more sleep to function..I would definitely be interested to hear what may cause this fluctuation in sleep requirements. I do have a sleep disorder I think...when in the military, my sleep cycle was pretty much non-existent. I could easily go 24-48 hours with no sleep, and then sometimes I could do 8 on 8 off for weeks at a time...there was really no warning for this type stuff, so no way to prepare or sleep extra in advance...your circadian rhythm goes nuts......It has really messed me up...though honestly, I think its a benefit, because I can go 4-6 hours and feel good...in fact like james_gsx said...sometimes going more than 8 hours makes me feel bad, ironically enough. Gives me plenty of extra time for trading and studying markets though, so it can't such a bad thing. ha ha ha
  7. ha ha good to go man. Give me my Rocky soundtrack and a few weeks and it's on! But yeah I think OEC has the best platform I have seen, especially considering the price is $0.00......I like their setup better than pretty much anything out there, expensive or not. You speak highly of them, and I respect your opinion....so I think they are gonna get a shot. Thanks man.
  8. Don't make me come over there Brownsfan! I'm not calling them complacent..I just worried because it is generally what happens to people when they taste some success/growth. When you factor their recent growth into the equation along with some of the issues being brought up...it makes me voice an opinion. No, I don't have an account there...the reason that I do not have an account is because of the issues that have recently come up...I am watching closely with my fingers crossed that this is all a fluke, as I really like OEC.... So yes, I am still entitled to an opinion.... Any more problems, and I will challenge you to a duel, got that? :p
  9. Hmmm..yeah but coming from my own experience, they are an extremely viable training tool. Yes, there are plenty of things that work for training..but they are hardly a fad. Ask the Navy SEALs and USMC if they are a fad, see what they have to say.
  10. Point is Brownsfan that we are here to discuss the broker and these are all pertinent issues. If I or any "small trader" is having issues, then we probably couldn't care less how the "big boys" get treated. Not trying to be inflammatory, and yes I understand your point....but my point is, complacency is a killer. I am rooting for them, but if they can't swim, then they'll sink and that's that. I like what they have going on, but I have no personal problem with going wherever treats me the best.
  11. No I have heard about all I'd care to at this point. Thanks for the offer though.
  12. I sincerely hope they do not become victims of complacency. They seem to have a good program, though there are a few things that concern me....they seem to be working past those issues....but, I guess we'll just see.
  13. I guess its relative to your account size.......to some, trading 3-4 contracts is too much risk...but if I were some big shot treader..I probably wouldn't really be too worried about 32 contracts..... Risk tolerance is based on the size of your account right?
  14. Oh I am sure it can be profitable. Of that, I am sure, or else so many people wouldn't do that instead of trade. Why wouldn't one just trade on a larger scale and double their income instead of making peanuts (relative to their supposed trading profits)? If the market is so large where it doesn't matter how many people trade the same way as you, then why not just double/triple/quadruple your trade sizes and go buy an island or helicopter or something with your newfound wealth? Surely with the amount of money you could make from doubling or tripling your income since you already trade so well as to teach others, could even go into something as weak as a CD at 4-5%, (much less trading a few CEF's on the side) and the interest would be plenty as passive income....much more than some peasant young trader paying for lessons.
  15. I'm just sayin'. ....My point was that why would someone run a for-profit business when they make so much more at actually doing what they are teaching? If I made a million dollars selling cars, Im not going to go out there beating the streets to drum up some clients to teach how to sell cars...there is no way that the time spent peddling my wares would be worth the time/money I'd lose from not just selling the cars in the first place. But hey, maybe I am just crazy, it is a possibility.
  16. I said in other posts that if one were truly wanting to help others, they wouldn't charge for it...simply put, if I had made an ungodly amount of money in the markets and was still consistent..in the unlikely event I would disclose all my trade secrets and be truly philanthropic.....I wouldn't charge money...I would be making plenty of money from trading.....money from students would be a drop in the bucket..if I truly wanted my students to succeed I wouldn't be charging them tons of money for lessons..I would be encouraging them to build as much capital as possible. I donate a bunch of time to the humane society in my area, and I don't charge them for it...why? because I truly have an interest in the animals being treated humanely...no ulterior motives....I don't sell them discounted services.. (**"well, yes Mr Humane society director, I normally charge $40 an hour, but since I want to see your animals treated humanely, I will only charge $20"**)....nope I do it for free, because I am a volunteer and have a true interest in furthering my cause in an unselfish way. I am all for discussion of trading and helping each other out free....but seriously, no one in their right mind is going to give away their trade secrets... Same way the casinos do..they'll teach you to play cards...but you aren't going to learn anything of substance from them. The amount of money a trading edge is worth is actually priceless.....but it is surely worth more than any normal person could afford....It would be like me selling you a Porsche or $20....(rough comparison-lol but you get the point...it just doesn't make sense to do that). People don't readily train others to compete with them.
  17. Yeah on an absolute basis...they seem kind of steep...but man, you can do anything with them. So when you look at how versatile they are...it is worth it to me....I have a nice home gym set up with Olympic weights, bumper plates heavy bag chin/dip tower weighted vest, dumbells, and all that stuff....and a lot of it goes unused thanks to the kettlebells... It's really a matter of personal preference though...
  18. Running on an empty stomach like that is great if you are trying to lose weight...it will burn fat very well.....but I wouldn't do that if you were just doing it for conditioning, as, like Nick said- it is highly catabolic...
  19. Does anyone know anything about profiletraders.com? Just wondering, as I have noticed them popping up here and there recently.
