If you have a well defined edge and know the probabilities, there is no need to have a killer instinct to pull the trigger. You are just executing your plan then and have no need for any kind of killer instinct; just the ability and discipline to follow your plan. You said there are two requirements. What is the 2nd?

I am not sure what you see as arguementative, but I was thinking you were the one being rude and trying to start an arguement by pretending that flimbo said something he didn't, and trying to twist my words about executing orders based on a trading plan. If you don't like my posts, feel free to use the ignore function.

I don't see anywhere where he said to short. Either way, that is not what I said. Please read my post again.

That doesn't mean it was correct. A trade is only correct if you place it according to your trading plan. If you didn't, then it is just a random entry you got lucky on.

Have you thought of looking on their website?

If you are not willing to put in any effort and want to spoonfed, then you will find this is not the forum for you.

There are lots of people like that out there who are full time traders.

I can't help but to see the irony that you say that people giving rude replies lack self esteem and need to feel superior, but then your whole post is about how your are superior to them with your trading. The pot calling the kettle black? Just a thought...
-
Just google it. You will find plenty of resources.

Ninjatrader.com. A simple Google search would have given the website faster than it took you to type the question here.

How to Check if a Particular Day is Holiday in Easylanguage
sevensa replied to rajatheroyal's topic in Automated Trading
If you did what Tam's suggested and read what he told you, you would know the answer... If your statement say "Buy next bar on open" and there is no data,i.e. no bar exist for the 10th, on what bar would this statement buy? -

Removed duplicate post from me. -
Some platforms, like TradersStudio offer a conversion from EL to their own format, but in general there are no coversion programs and someone have to port it manually from one language to another.

I've already made my point. Read and find out who you are talking to before making wild statements. Unfortunately you seem to miss the point and/or is more interested in being argumentative. Good luck to you.

Wouldn't it be better to ask these questions to TOS and get the answers right from the source?

I think it depends on how you treat paper trading. If you treat it with the utmost seriousness, record all your paper traders, tract your win/loss, commit to really learning from your mistakes, etc, then it can serve you very well. There is probably no better teacher. If you treat it as something that is just a game, don't record trades, sweep the mistakes under the rug 'cuz it is better for your ego to ignore them, etc, then it won't be of any help. Funny thing from what I've seen is that those who treat sim trading as useless because it doesn't have the money behind it are the ones who have emotional problems in real trading and burn through their accounts. They can't wait to jump into the market an trade. The hard truth is if you can't treat this as a serious business, ya won't be in business for very long. You probably should have read the posts from Thales before you made the statement highlighted in bold in your reply to his post...

Just do a mental replace for price action with market action in my post. I would have written nothing different.
-
So you are really talking about Wycoff then when you say price action? DB is running a good Wyckoff section on here and you are probably better of posting there. Other people will define price action differently. As so far as what my opinion about "price action" is, this is like asking me what my opinion is about blue sky. It is what it is. If there was no "price action", no one would be making or losing money. I am not really sure what you are looking for as far as a response.

You'll hear bad things about anything at ET. If this is what you use to base your decisions on, then you will not find any broker.
-
What is your definition of market action?

When you say it doesn't work, does it not buy anything? What if you change it to 1 contract? Does it buy it then? I am still using TS 2000i and I know you can set the maximum number of contracts and if pyramiding is allowed for the the strategy under the strategy properties in "Format Strategy". Maybe it is the same in the newer versions of TS. The default maximum number of contracts is 1 and pyramiding not allowed. So if yours are still default settings, this might explain why it is not working.

What is a fresh trend that channels sideways? How can a trend go sideways? A chart will be helpful to show what you are talking about here.

What are the technical reasons that you wouldn't recommend PFG?

You see no benefit for programmers to have multiple areas and marketing outlets available to offer their services?
