  1. WARNING: I had computer problems all day today (hardware related), and when I finally got it to boot and opened a Firefox window, I got a couple of those sleazy "Your computer is infected with malware! Click OK to download our free malware elimination utility!" popup system messages. I'm not sure what happened as I didn't get anything like that yesterday after I visited the e-mini AU website, and there don't appear to be any changes made to my computer otherwise, but just a warning. If you don't need to, it's probably best to stay off those websites, and also if those two links were removed from the OP.
  2. That has happened to me many times, and I gotta say, it's never worth it. I now don't leave my screen except to go to the fridge (a few feet away) and to go to the bathroom (down the hall). Neither of these usually takes more than a minute or two, and while price can still do something to surprise you in that amount of time...I can't hold it for that long. I've actually considered hiring someone to go out every day, get lunch for me, and bring it back to my room, but I don't really get that hungry during RTH, so it wouldn't be worth it.
  3. This is a fairly common feature of trading platforms. I know Ninja can do this, as can many others. It depends on your preferences.
  4. You may want to keep an eye on the thread below, or contact MC support. TS SUPPORT :: View topic - We are terminating all kinds of relations with TransAct. (I know this is a link to an outside forum, but I think in this case it should be OK. Feel free to remove it if I'm wrong.)
  5. #2 on that list would be quite concerning if I were with TransAct, good thing I'm not!
  6. I have no experience with them but odds are they are a scam. I didn't get any further than the home page and I saw this: "HOW TO TRADE E-MINIS How investors can make US$500 to US$1,000 A night trading the E-minis market, starting with as little as $2,000." First off, are these people "teaching" investing, or trading? They are two completely different things. You'd think these scam sites could at least put some effort into tricking the consumer. Second, don't expect to be making $500-1000 a night if you're starting with $2000 if you're a new trader. Any site that would advertise that on their homepage is shady at best, and that kind of advertising is no different from the banner ads you see that are selling stock trading "robots" that will earn you exactly $3,697,959.08 a month starting with only $100. On a side note, if these guys are making so much money, why is it that their website is so horribly ugly? You'd think they'd be able to hire a decent web designer with all that money.
  7. Not being critical, just expressing my surprise. Thank you for the explanation.
  8. 1 tick stop? And people call you crazy if you trade with a 1 POINT stop on the ES...
  9. This is a good encyclopedia of basic indicators: StockCharts.com - ChartSchool - Technical Indicators and Overlays Certainly not exhaustive, but a good start.
  10. Host the image somewhere else, then use the "Insert Image" button when you're writing the post.
  11. It worked for me, but here it is once again just in case. E-Mini S&P Order Analysis by CME Group.pdf
  12. 6E is the Globex symbol, EC is the open outcry symbol, same with the other pairs. EUR/USD Inside Futures: Relevant trading-focused information authored by key players in the futures, options and forex industries
  13. I'm not sure about FDAX and FESX, but I know for ES and the other US e-mini contracts, that is about as low as you are going to get starting out. You may be able to get 10 or 20 cents cheaper on the e-minis with another broker like Amp or OEC, but I don't know if they offer FDAX and FESX.
  14. Being able to use the indicator and being able to understand exactly what it does and how it does it are two different goals.
  15. One thing I've noticed is that many prop firms only trade equities for whatever reason, so if you wanted to trade with a firm, futures may not be available. On a side note, if anyone knows why so many prop firms don't trade futures, it would be great if you could share the reason(s).
  16. Thanks for sharing this. I've noticed in some of your posts you mention this Trade Intensity idea, and I believe you may have created an indicator for it (I could be wrong about that). What is trade intensity by your definition? Is it something like volume or ticks per x amount of time? If so...I can see how something like that would be useful, because it's something that you can see if you're watching live price movement, but it can be much harder to notice if you're looking at historical data, or even price action that happened only minutes ago. I realize this may be a secret, so I understand if you don't want to answer. Thanks. Also: forgive me if the trade intensity thing is a very common indicator...I don't have a lot of experience with many indicators. I searched on Google briefly and couldn't find anything about it, though. And yes, the multi timeframe capability in TS seems quite nice, and it's something I hope Ninja implements soon, because I'd love to try it out.
  17. I've decided to remove my post here.
  18. The volume data for that chart is definitely very wrong. Also wrong, but more correct: http://www.google.com/finance?client=ob&q=AMEX:SPY
  19. Well for one thing you can edit a chart after the fact and make it show whatever you want. I can draw a set of entry and exit points on an ES chart that make it look like I capture 100% of the day's range every day, but that doesn't mean that I can actually make those trades live.
  20. So if I had an account with an FCM, I wouldn't have a representative at the firm? Who would I contact if I were to have a problem? How would I open the account in the first place?
  21. I did not know that, so I did a search on it, and I came up with this: https://www.interactivebrokers.com/smf/index.php?topic=32212.0;wap2
  22. I have a question for you BF: Do you ever take two trades on different markets at the same time? That is, if you get a setup on two different markets at the same time, do you take both trades, or only one? I'm guessing the answer to this question might depend on how correlated the markets are, but I'm just curious.
  23. I've often thought of a feature like this for vol and tick charts, so I think this is a great idea, though I don't use TS, so I wouldn't be able to use it. If anyone knows of any other versions that work for Ninja, it would be most appreciated if you could post them here.
  24. I'm not sure what you're asking here. All world markets and their actions are interrelated, because each market is trading off of more or less the same information. The ASX isn't somehow isolated from the rest of the world just because it's based in Australia.
  25. Actually Media Player Classic (aka "MPC") is different from Windows Media Player (aka "WMP"). It is far superior to WMP, and it is free, open source, and as BlowFish said, it doesn't require much space on your hard drive. To clarify, WMP is a Microsoft product, and MPC is not. I alternate between MPC and VLC for video playing, and with these two along with the proper codecs (K-lite codec packs are good), you can play just about anything.
