  1. Correct, it will delay volume data, there will be some lag... you are not refering to one bar only, I still dont know if it will be usefull... just playing around... what I think its that it will be more solid shifts from red to green and vice versa.... cheers Walter.
  2. Yes Soul, it is possible, I did play today with your idea of doing a showme study that will plot this arrows on divergences, I got stuck with the ttm formula... but nothing imposible... just more screentime...
  3. it applies a simple average to the data.... so it will do exactly the same but it will take into acount more periods (bars back) of data...
  4. Soul, I dont want to drive you nuts but I have been playing around today with this indicator and did some more enhancements like adding an optional smoothing factor, wich could be eventually usefull... if you put the smooth input to 1 it will look like the original... from there on you can play and experiment the possible benefits of having some noise reduction.... enjoy, cheers Walter. TICK DELTA SMOOTH.ELD
  5. Thanks Soul, this opens a new dimension in the hability to see what really is happening on this particular levels, are they buying ? are they selling ? Now about the volume spikes with a clear buy/sell definition... I am absolutly motivated to study this particular topic with specific atention... even we can build some derivated indicators from here... I am a believer in buy/ sell climaxes, I dont know if you are familiar with Technical Analysis QQQ Trading Nasdaq 100 Stock chart S&P 500 market timing system they teach the volume surge exhaustions reversals... thought their indicators are not that good.... I believe Tick Delta can do an even better job on this type of aproach ... real nice first insight Soul... cheers Walter.

    Using Neural Nets

What type of data does he needs to work on.... csv ?
  7. Hi Starfill, could you tell us whats the indicator you have on the lower pane of your chart ? cheers Walter.
  8. Yes Soul, I am also excited with this new tool ¡¡ it brings light from a great intrinsic technical concept.... you can post it on the indicators forum, I dont know how to do it... cheers Walter.
  9. How about taking this to the next level.... this is an "Oscillator of the tick up/dn volume" I find it on tradestation forum and did some touches... it does show very nice the flow of this "tick delta"... must confess I didnt thought that tick deltas could be that reliable as volume deltas.... thought it looks very nice... I will study the potencial on this and later maybe open a thread on its possible usage.... enjoy, cheers Walter. TICK DELTA OSC.ELD
  10. Here it goes, more clean indicator and a better name... "Tick Delta"... cheers Walter. TICK DELTA.ELD
  11. well Wsam, the version I shared, puts the most traded color at the top... so you can have a visual who did the most at a glimpse, its the same you have "ttm tick volume", maybe we should remove that white middle dot and the average I find it useless and makes the indicator cloghted...
  12. jejejej ,no there is another white cat there....
  13. We are gona catch you ¡¡¡¡
  14. yeap, ttm tick volume, its free to public, its been given freely by tradethemarkets.com to their members , but originally was developed by waynechem from tradestation forum, the original name of the indicator is WAV_VOL_3 you can see here his thread and the indicator link https://www.tradestation.com/discussions/Topic.aspx?Result=1&Topic_ID=42531 the indicator looks very good, and does work on historical data... it is based on up/dn ticks... so it would be a Delta from ticks... I attach the indicator, Enjoy cheers, Walter. 20050830200518WAV_VOL_3.ELD
  15. And for today this nice coil break, one of the keys is the speed at the break, it really validates the move , on the upper level we got a very dull break without speed, it just became a range expansion.... on the down break, speed was great.... nice trade indeed... it was worth $110 per contract... cheers Walter. PD: another detail is that the longer the coil formation, the stronger the break will be.
  16. I see a failed stochastic crossover ¡¡¡¡¡ jejejeje
  17. Sudah, you want to take a look at this thread (my entry vs my stop vs my exit ) on technical trading forum, there you have a method that uses averages for day trading... cheers Walter.
  18. Soul, I couldnt find the indicator I promissed, its just about the same posted at beggining.... sorry for that. I still dont know if the delta that ts creates really can be trusted... I understand that ts data uses for bid and ask values the up/ dn ticks... soul you should double check this factor because if this is true the delta that this indicator creates its not that much reliable... cheers Walter.

    Using Neural Nets

Mr T , my first and last neural net experience was with Neuroshell ... I think that soft its not really what I wanted... then after I read an article about our mind and its capacity to percieve many variables and work better than any nn... so I started to train my mind on the "feel" of the market (as soultrader teaches tape reading ) in hand with a simple technical aproach... and let me tell you, screen time optimized my brain nn ¡¡... any way, I like your idea of developing some nn... I would like to see at this point what a nn could optimize my actual trading technique... could be cool to see that... could you share whats the site of this soft you are demo... ? cheers Walter.
  20. Nice Coil Breaks just traded.... off for the day... cheers Walter.
  21. Here I add a nice example today of a beautifull M trade at 3 Tick chart, I did experiment using Force Index at this scale.... nice divergence right on the top of bands... cheers Walter.
  22. I did start trading on the pits here in Bs AS Argentina, we use to have a very dynamic market during the Menem goverment... its an experience that I do miss and I think I will never have that again... I did change to electronic markets in US futures and I did a very painfull process to learn how to feel the market without the pit stimulous... I did have pit noise with Ben, but it really doesnt get even near to the real thing... I think that if you like very small scalping, that is the place... cheers Walter.
  23. well first risk is proportional to reward, doesnt matter if it is with 1, 30 or 100 contracts... and yes you will see 6, 8, 10 contracts per tick on the fly being traded, when you send a 30 contracts order, you get partially filled in this increments... its miliseconds... about slippage, on strength conditions it gets up to 1 or 2 ticks wich I dont mind, I did try sending two 15 contracts orders and it gets about the same... so it really depends on your strategy and trading style... but Russell, you can trade nice volume if you want, dont get fulled by the inmediat volume readings There is a lot of hidden orders that can absorb perfectly well your "volumetric" order... many times I dont suffer any slipagge.... any way I would prefer to talk about technicall issues, I think that would be kind of pressumed to talk about my personal acct at this forum, The true spirit of my post was that you dont need to make so much great money on your trading per day... trade one hour, make a reasonable amount and enjoy life... dont get greedy, greedy people are poor and stressed people... cheers Walter.
  24. Soul I know it is possible and I even have one, i will post it when I find it, but it will work only on real time data, it doesnt look on historical data... on the other side I believe it calculates on up/dn ticks and not real bid ask volume on TS... Linnsoft its about the only soft that has reliable performance on this type of data until now... and has the abilty to recalculate historical data and plot it... maybe the most near competitor its topgunsoftware thought their aproach is quite diferent... cheers Walter.
  25. asop, maybe for a newbie it can be easier to trade continuations of a good solid established trend... reversals demand the 6th sense that you will have after a couple thousand screen time hours... as it happens with most of us.. now continuations are much easier to spot and can give some nice good buck to pay data service... and go to the supermarket.... on the meanwhile you can start learning reversals... its a complete different story... cheers Walter.
