Add-on For Heikin Ashii and Volume Delta
walterw replied to Soultrader's topic in Trading Indicators
Ok Soul, you want to try this one, it will require to input the previous day H/L/C like on the pivots indicator, also must input vah, poc and val for today.. the "factor" is the amount of ticks above-below the levels that will be taking into acount, I put it default on 3 thinking of a 3 point on YM, now per example for russell if you want a 3 tick factor, the input should be 0.3.... you can play with this factor as convenient.... enjoy , cheers Walter. Soul I will be working on it... cheers Walter. -
Pivotprofiler : I would like to know if this 80 % is based on some real backtest about this performance you refer to... thanks Walter.

wsam : I think that like any discipline on life it takes time and dedication to get good at it, once you get it, you are the propietary off all the benefits... and just about any thing in life first its dificult, then after learned its expontaneous... (like learning a language)... tape I believe can be a great tool on a traders arsenal, I am on the process of learning this skill, must admit it will take some good time to master it... thought when I have it, I will reap the positive results... cheers Walter.

Robert, no the 3 days settlement no... once you are flat you are ready to open a new position... I make about 4 to 5 trades on one session with the same money... some scalpers even do up to 20 trades on one session... thought they mostly overtrade...

Richard: I have been on this forum since november, and let me tell you that the big difference here is that the people who is sharing their aproaches do make a living with it... on other sites some people come with very fantastic aproaches they actually dont trade and they pretend to do a living asking you money for their coaching... here we have real traders with real happy and hard days, but nobody is seeking money compensation for their wisdom... its more trying to get a better edge on real trading thru collaboration... on the other side our profession is one of isolation, more if you are on a country were you are an extraterrestrial criature making american dollars... so here we find some fellow traders where we can share our experiences, thanks again to Soul for his hard work... Richard if you consider to do some trading on your life, here you almooooost got the Holy Grail... jejejejej cheers Walter. -
Robert: depending on the broker you trade they will ask you a "margin" per contract... (real front money in your acct), some brokers go from 500 to 2000 on eminis per contract... once you long/short a contract you have the minimum fluctuation "tick" that on the case of ym is $5 on er is $10 and lets say on ES its $12.5 so per example if you put a margin of 500 and you got a 7 tick move on you favor on er, you got 70 bucks minus comision (let say 3.5 round trip) 66.5 profit against 500 that is 13.3% profit... now that can happen oposite if you got stopped -7 ticks... on eminis you have "ranges"... er is the most volatile " high range" and es is the most "low range" emini... wich means : how much potential move you can expect on the future... this is a High risk, high potencial bussiness... you have to be very good at it or in a week go broke... cheers Walter.

flx: I have 2 questions: did does MM levels where there all day since the begining of the session like PP levels ?( didnt change during the day) could we see the 317 t chart to understand better your timing on entry, I like your rules there.... cheers Walter.
-
ezduzzit : at least myself, I wasnt promoted by any broker or other people to trade eminis.... its the daily wide range, margin, and money I make that keeps me trading that, I dont think there is any Hype to eminis as the real results you can experiment... now I dont think everybody is suited to trade this... so its ok if stocks or forex or other things fits other traders personality, and the day eminis dont give me this results, for shure I will be trading other thing... cheers Walter.
-
Torero: my experience with this indicator its that you must be a breakout trader... if you are not a breakout trader this indicator its not recomendable... cheers Walter
-
flx: to place images on the post you can use the attach button, then browse for the image file you want to show and upload it.... it will be easier to see pictures of what you are talking about, sounds interesting... cheers Water.

rwalk : good list indeed.... I do trade er2 as my principal and I have to add that slippage its not a problem on certain conditions... as an anticipated trader (non xtreme confirmed) I get in not on the great turbulence that will normally give you slippage... if you need to much technical confirmation most probably you will get trigered with the mass and you will experiment some slipagge.... never the less eminis is probably one off the best bussiness on the world if you get to master it.... cheers Walter.

Well I am shy Tingull, so I put a mask.... jejeje this is where I spend almost 10 hours per day on this wonderfull bussiness.... it pays off.... cheers Walter.

FLX :Can you share some snapshots ? are you using Tradestation ? is it posible to share your eld ? the one I used time ago was on esignal... never had one on TS.... would love to try it, IF it doesnt change... cheers Walter.

I have one but dont use it anymore... found out its better using fixed levels from yesterday session...
-
Mp : about moving Value areas... you probably are using a dynamic real time value area wich its not much reliable... most TL traders use previous days Value Areas, so they are fixed levels.... I get them myself on this site Daily Notes for Day Traders | Pivot Points for Index Futures and more , about MM It depends wich version you use, I did use one that would at certain point re-adjust entirely and what was a "pivot" would not be it any more... depends I believe on what verion of MM you are.... cheers Walter.

Keegan I actually dont trade forex at this time,I am trading futures, but always I sniff some forex sites and I did find one that has a very nice "delta type" information for forex, I dont know how they do it thought forex doesnt have volume data... but looks interesting and professional, I would give it a try... you may want to look at Forex Trading Software and Currency Broker I dont promote nothing here its just interesting some indicators they got in there... cheers Walter.

I have the belief that any congestion its included in a trend... so market its always trending... there is no such non trending conditions really... now on the speed universe you are trading... things may go flat... but on a higher speed universe that is trending... ok ? now on this "keymoo laboratory example" we have a congestion happenning on a smaller speed universe than the one keymoo was trading... so that congestion its yet inside the trend of keymoo speed universe.... you dont want to be in a trade if your speed universe gets congested.... because you are not trading on the higher speed universe trend.... now you wana hold if you get a congestion included on the trend of your speed universe.... kind of dificult maybe I can do an excel to explain better.... cheers Walter.

Great ¡¡ very happy for that, I did receive a lot from your generosity here, learned great things that helped my trading a lot, its great to give a little bit back, I think thats what collaboration is all about... cheers Walter.
-
I believe we all learn in this type of debate... thought we can clearly think diferent.... if we all think the same there would be no market.... I cant help it but I will attach an excell with my input... hope it helps... cheers Walter. Timing Keymoo Trade.xls

yea, I did try it, it gives false signals, it moves  .... Floor traders pivots, mP levels dont move... more robust aproach... even Dynamic levels (bands) are more reliable.... thought since I am on this forum I am learning to strongly capitalize from mp levels (value areas)... they are incredible¡¡¡ cheers Walter

Keymoo I think you brought a topic that most of us traders have some emotional attachment.... this F&/%$k stops has made us suffer enough in our trading history... now if you are open minded (I think you are, you bring a very sensitive topic with great sincerity) I would like to share with you a little hint as to timing that may help or not but can add a nice educational input to this entire thread.... tell me if you are interested and I will post it, otherwise no problem... cheers Walter.

Processing Market Information: Segment by Segment
walterw replied to Soultrader's topic in Technical Analysis
Nice clear understanding of the market dynamics... no mistery, this happens over and over again.... its more about mastering this skill of understanding whats going on.... Soul: did you try the Volume delta cumulative ? I think it would show clear divergences on does failing Highs on segment 1 and 2... cheers Walter -
Hey guys, if we cant manage a position I think that steak restaurant bussiness sounds good for a day job jejeje :p just kiding.... yea well I think the issue here its about timing entry and having a more competitive stop placement in relashionship with the trade`s potencial... I think the trade original concept its ok, maybe I would personally manage the entry timing in a very diferent way that could make you more relax during does 40 min and sit and wait... if my stop its more tight no need to panic... anyway I believe this congestion conditions are no reason to close your trade prematurely, this lack of momentum happen all the time and it doesnt interfer with the markets overall performance...
