  1. yes Don, (that was the setup ) but I time the trade on a tick chart....
  2. Here is a nice one today on YM 5 min, notice how volume is confirming the pattern... cheers Walter.
  3. nice Don, you can add to that a high volume on the pinbar or previous bar and you got a high probabilty fade there.... cheers Walter.
  4. In that case al, we are not talking of closing "trailing" positions only, but when and why to open a position... that gets to a more complex topic, Why should I actually buy a stock... ? if they bought because of fundamental reasons, mostly you get trapped on lies... Technical analisis is the best way to take positions without being fooled... cheers Walter.
  5. al : first welcome to TL ¡¡ you will have a diversity of ideas and diferent aproaches on this topic, any off them are finally valid, it depends on how your trading style is to choose wich one makes you feel more confortable, let me add my concept to this : PRICE ACTION and this price action is pivots to pivots (higher highs, higher lows, lower lows, lower highs etc..) when you are "trailing" the market, you are following the markets action, nothing better (from my stand point of view) than price action.... each of this pivots are key places to add or reduce your positions.... whatever your trading aproach maybe... thats a basic concept here, if interested we can get deep into it, now RRR its where I find the true edge to this trailing aproach, especially because I get the chance of having very tight stops vs large gains... cheers Walter.
  6. Brown : I would appreciate if you could remeber me whats the soft you use to mark your charts.... thanks Walter.
  7. Boca : are you looking for a timer (count down) ? ....
  8. aha ¡¡ interesting, the big question would be, where do we collect this type of data (if it is available for TS/ or esignal).... in order to make this formula work on TS... I mean the "buy/ sell orders" data...
  9. nsitt : in my case the expanding was on the amount of contracts I trade.... dont like the headachs of working for other people... talking on expansion plans I am planing to get into forex on second half this year thanks to the hability of reading volume on forex... thought now on beta... there are many alternatives on that area.... but certainly if you like to deal with people you can make some plans on taking money and working for them, what I dont like is the regulated frame, wich is very stressing.... like to enjoy life and have time to spend my earned dollars, depends on whats you life filosofy.... cheers Walter.
  10. rickv : does fixed levels are optional, you can use them for a key fibonacci level you have in your analisis, maybe a vpc or other key S&R level you want to take into acct... if not you may live it on 0.... cheers Walter.
  11. sds : it depends if you trade 1 contract or multiple contracts, to start I would say its ideal to trade multicontracts, at least a minimum of 3 contracts so you can exit gradually your trade.... here at TL there are very diferent ways we trade in terms of RRR money managment, you want to hear all the bells and see what fits your style.... cheers Walter.
  12. sds : this is a nice and simple article on S&R Support and Resistance - StockCharts.com price action itself is the analisis of "pivots" (higher highs, higher lows, lower highs, lower lows, etc ) on the other side we are adding volume analisis this are two nice articles : Pring Research - Technical Analysis, Educational CDs, Financial Newsletters and Charting Tools PRING.COM - The site for the savvy technician. and candlesticks patterns... here is a simple introduction Chart Analysis - StockCharts.com we are combining all together, some nice S&R levels we look at are vah, val and poc wich are Market Profile levels from previous session... there is a lot here on TL, posts and videos.... take your time and enjoy the journey of learning this powerfull concepts... hope helps cheers Walter.
  13. cooter: you want to try this one, works in all time frames.... cheers Walter. % TREND 2.ELD
  14. Hi cooter, it works on mine, any way I will take a look at it, maybe make some diferent version.... cheers Walter.
  15. Pivot : since studing volume here at TL, most probably I believe that this last post of yours are the most nice, easy and reliable pattern.... a WRB followed by a Big Doji on volume surge.... can I know whats that chart timescale ? cheers Walter.
  16. Well Pivot, that wick its just outside of the Average True Range, but closed inside, yeah like does dinamic levels, I trade them all the time... Keltner especially... makes me more confident... they have a nice statistical performance on cyclical days like today....
  17. Tin: I would like to know whats your exact entry criteria on that chart... thanks Walter.
  18. I like too see that keltner band addition Tin.... good chart indeed...
  19. This would be the tradestation indicator for %Trend.... enjoy cheers Walter % TREND.ELD
  20. Torero : His spam post has been already deleted...
  21. this guy is a scammer, we are serious working people here...
  22. Good Weiwei, you are in the right track then ¡¡¡ I think that from all you mention there, volume is the most powerfull one, also the hardest to learn... you want to get good on "Market Climate" as we mentioned on other thread... that skill can be your best friend... cheers Walter.

    Big Dow?

Whats the big dow ticker symbol ? thanks
  24. ok Soul thats great ¡¡ I asume range is high - low ?.... do you have some archive of this in excell something historical ? this makes great sense its like squeeze, (contraction/expansion) from day to day concept type... thanks Soul again ¡¡ cheers Walter.
  25. we took out the visual noise of the average and the mid level of each histogram.... simple modification but made it much easier to read... from there on we started to program a lot of combinations, as with ttm trend, at or not at key levels, smoothed version, oscillator version, cumulative oscillator version, etc etc... I even have some versions did not publish here so my fellow traders will not go nuts.... but the overrall analisis is delta... cheers Walter.
