Hi doc... I have a question to make you, there is no hurry at all for your response, thanks for still being here even thought some criticism... (there still people that we feel very honored to have you here ). Something happens to me ( a reaction ) when I finally understand something ( normally on the technicall area )... When I dont know something I consider it dificult to me... once I understand it, it is the most easy and silly thing... so here comes my reaction : "What a stupid felllow, how couldnt you understand before (some years ago ) such an easy thing" The fact is that it wasnt easy untill I understand it... but I tend to be very exigent with myself, and sometimes I feel guilty (could had done much more before), left brained and so on... Its funny, but I consider myself actually succesfull, but sometimes guilty off not making this success happen before... I would like to find a way to be more in peace with myself on this issue... I expect your feedback doc.... cheers Walter.

The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)
walterw replied to walterw's topic in Technical Analysis
Here is another set of flips... always coming out of this outerband pivot... Now on this ocation the scalper was the most rentable here... and there is certain discretionary aspect as to the time of the day where we know the market may not build up that much momentum... at this time of the day it would be better to close entire position at scalper exit... The last trade shows how agresive it can be to take a trade as momentum may alsready be stalling... cheers Walter. -
Apart of trading I am on the construction bussiness... we build houses and sell them... its especulative and risky as trading... I think the best thing is to be diversified... cheers Walter.

Today Ym delivered a very nice momentum flip... notice the pivot formed outside the outerbands how it calls for momentum.... cheers Walter. -
A speculator is a Human bean... all humans speculate... be it on trading or any other human enterprise... Risk is embeded on human existance and speculation is dealing with it...

I did trade options here in Argentina and Usa... you have to be very literated on the topic to profit... I finally considered I wasnt correctly instructed so didnt follw up just kept working on my futures... Dogpile, do you do options ? what options education program would some of you recomend ? cheers Walter.

The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)
walterw replied to walterw's topic in Technical Analysis
Don : can you explain me exactly whats your idea on a chart... I dont know if I really did interpret you correct... So far I understand you would open at normal entry half position, if it goes ok you would exit at scalper exit that half, what I dont get clear yet its where exactly would be your entrance for the second half... nice money magement ideas here... I also understand that the momentum will be your key for success here... in terms of super runners... -
No... it doesnt have any edge for cycle days.. I did test it quite much and did not find really any edge for cycles... what they sell you is how you can stay inside a great big move... but you can actually do that with an ema 50, will be cheaper an easier... cheers Walter.

The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)

I dont trade so late on a session, I normally use to trade on the first hour of session, but since flip I am following the entire session... Notice this last flip on ym as the session is finishing... cheers Walter. -
The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)
walterw replied to walterw's topic in Technical Analysis
Z Trade : yes exits its a hard arena, did you notice that when flip was born here there wasnt much on exits... but keeping things as simple as posible should be the target, thats what I did with cci... it gives you a very straight forward exit rule, thought some times its not the best... But when you try a new indicator you will find that on some trades he will outperform cci and on others cci will outperform him chatterbox so.... it can become frustrating this indicator stuff... whats important here its the overall concept of momentum where there are more chances to have a succesfull trade... About the white keltner as a level thats about the topic I was going to open on a new thread... taking that level as a very comon level to take " momentum flips"... I must confess there is a 22 Tick chart I also use for (very specific timing ) and never posted to keep this thread simple and dont confuse anybody... but on those charts you can see this white (intrabands) working like a charm... cheers Walter. -

That would open a new dimension to the entry timing... should you consider a 2nd timing entry criteria there ? what would that exactly be... ? in terms of math makes sense... the technicall aspect is the hard one there... -

Interesting... it would deserve some analisis, would you exit the entire position there ? -
The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)
walterw replied to walterw's topic in Technical Analysis
Hello everyone, today I had been following YM U7... I am using Z trade parameters for keltners wich are 100 exp atr 1 and 2.5 on a 55Tick chart... (thanks Z trade) There where lots of flips... but I only did take the more well formed ones... I mean by that, the ones that tested the S&R level without going any further (violation of level)... Momentum was there, and on the last example we see how using a super runner would give exellent rewards... I still dont know how to manage that... but figuring out some money management idea... cheers Walter. -
Ok, I see... so when an ABC setup fails to continue, if the B pivot gets swinged you will take the next continuation on that direction... ? Had you try this on tick charts ?... thanks Walter.
-
Nice Dog.. in the case a C wave is forming, what would be your exact timing entry ? I saw in another thread you use par/sar for triggers.... thanks Walter.

Sorry Brown, it wasnt my intention to irritate you, wont bother anymore... lol Walter.
-
Brown.. I think she is not the only one that doesnt give specific information... its very similar to some traders giving their final day stats about a black box method to the forum, what help can that add to the other technical trader fellows... ? I think in a forum there are three type of active members : 1rst Collaboration... He gives and receives... 2nd Product Vendor... He makes publicity of his product (obviously will not show you entire product ) 3rd Members with some inferiority complex, need to talk about their super performance but do not technically collaborate... I think Doc is on the second group and obviously will not show entire product.. no sin... cheers Walter.

I tried it two years ago, was curious... it doesnt work... he doesnt publish in his site and his email publication all the super bad trades... The sistem only works on trending markets.... thought market cycles more than what it trends... lol... my 2 cents cheers Walter.

The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)

I love to see those bars outside keltner ¡¡ I asume you will track the super runner exit for that... so this week starts with the right foot... jejeje this will be a super flip week ¡¡ keep that good work Don, I see your eyes are more sharp to find flips... cheers Walter. -

Here is an example on YM with Ztrade paramenters on chart... Notice what a super trade this could had been if used the super runner exit... In the week, picking a couple of this trades could optimize the overall RRR... cheers Walter. PD : Super Runner exit is defined by the re-entry of the white keltner... -
Dog : now you took your posts to the next level with great visual aid... congratulations , very nice stuff and thanks for sharing... One question: what indicator is behind the pinball formula ? thanks Walter.

The "Flip" Trade (support and resistance changing roles)
walterw replied to walterw's topic in Technical Analysis
Nice interaction here... I am so glad I ended my monologue... Don : thanks for the inputs on the news issue, we could state that the movements are not necesarily related to the news... thought the news can boost momentum, any way there can be momentum without them... Maildigger : yes, it is posibble to take a flip on a older level... now on the case attached you can see it is agressive because you are on the oposite outerband... Notice the "far flip" thought it was not on the exact level, it was more conservative as we where on the outerbands area, momentum showed up and it worked for almost 20 pips... The overall idea of the "momentum flip" its to time a trade that will travel outside the outerbands with momentum... this thread recalls the concept http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/34/momentum-vs-non-momentum-1763-3.html Thanks for interacting... cheers Walter. -

impresive 40+ pip move there... I asume Don there is a time on the day this moves are more normal for certain pairs... I asume normally this would be on europe news hours or usa news hours... in this example was there any news included there ? cheers Walter.
