On this thread I will talk about the "5 min Laddering" trade... On this previous posts http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/24/playing-with-the-vmar-s-open-2440-9.html I already presented some basic concepts of this trade with charts and videos... I would say this are the smaller universe "vmar icons" because the icon concept still is in there and here we start to integrate one great concept vma has wich is laddering... Now positive laddering from a small time frame doesnt have so much significance as positive laddering on a higher time frame, for example the positive laddering of a 5 min chart is much more significant than 1 min... and as I like to find my trade arguments on a more robust timeframe like 5 min... then positive laddering on 5 min really is our shot here... How does possitive laddering on a 5 min chart look like ? simple, you have an "Horizontal Effect" (HE) going on, when he ends and the black lines starts to continue on the same original direction, thats a "positive laddering"... notice I am using fantailvma1 on 5 min.... gotta take coffe... continue on next post... cheers Walter

Hi Bruce, I dont want to be annoying... wondered if we will have any chance of making a tighter vma (just baseline/ no rainbow) than the vma3 baseline.. is this mathematically posible ? My idea is to have a turbo ( 1 line) tighter than the yellow baseline added in the chart so we can see this "micropullbacks" while the vma3 yellow line keeps laddering on... So my idea is this: have plotted all the fantailvma3 template + this more tight line showing this price action... I emulate my idea on this graph : so this tighter line could tell us a little more information... just an idea, if its actually posibble, other wise I will re-create an entry definition for this cases where the yellow line keeps going on without any pullback... cheers Walter.

This is a video on this 1 minute timing definition... I believe I am feeling confortable with this one... If I get stopped with this one on an eventual noise situation (very few thanks to vma), it will be a very tight stop actually, as I can see this leading entry calls for a very nice competitive RRR.... cheers Walter. Here I post the two trades we had on "VMAR Icons" with this last timing definition of fantailvma3 yellow base line "Get outside the Rainbow"... on 1 min chart nice cool entries on 1 min with solid arguments on 5 min... cheers Walter.

As I am researching all the diferent combinations we have for timing since fantailvma3 ... here is another very simple one I already commented on the previous videos... On the 1 min chart with the fantailvma3 template (just that)... notice the last thick yellow line actually is the fantailvma3 base line... that line has two possible conditions : _Outside Rainbow _Inside Rainbow so that suggest that this line will have this dynamic : "Get Outside the Rainbow" "Get Inside the Rainbow" this events can be used for timing purposes... specially the "Get Outside the Rainbow"... On this chart I show this definition in action... very simple and straight forward.. It is a clean and leading definition... cheers Walter.

Hello fellow traders ¡¡ We had so far today two clear formations of "VMAR Icons"... the first one was a small one... and the second one was a larger one.. they actually superimpose, as the second settuping contains the first trade... This is a similar case early today... you can see on the 5 min this laddering going on after some HE action market decides to continue down... NOW on the 1 min... I never get a pullback... all laddering down... here timing should be difernt OR we would need a tighter vma version that could pullback some for more confidence... but this type of trend continuation on 5 min had been today a great example of how market makes a pause and then he tells you with vmar on 5 min when exactly he will resume the party... let me make video on this... cheers Walter.

Let me show you what could had been my reading... (iconic type)... On the 5 min with the fantailvma1 you can see that the black line takes off to the downside, after long erratic HE action... then he makes a sweet pullback and the 1 min timing happens as the fantailvma3 yellow line gets back out of the rainbow... a nice leading entry.... notice the possible logic scalper exit... aint that nice.. cheers Walter.

Correct ¡¡¡ thats a basic principle from Drummond Push / Refresh... and it organizes the overall reading of whats happening... your 1 hour chart is the best one to see this big picture... from there on coming down to 5 min and 1 min for timing puposes is the best shot... I would agree Bruce that we are clearly getting some nice optimization here on timing... I am still playing a lot with inputs an combinations... My question here : would the base line of fantailvma3 be the tightest we can get ?... (near to close) cheers Walter.

About trend... that was an example IF you wanted just to look at the 1 min chart... I still would recomend looking at the 5 min for trend... its more easy and will not confuse you by no means... not with vmars... more versions ahahahah.... you make my mouth water jejejej... cheers Walter.

Nice Explanation there Bruce about those inputs, that means we can get to plot lets say 200 (long away rainbow signal)... when looking at this small charts with this small tools you can loose focus... thats why you MUST have a setup (whatever) decided from a higher time frame (ej 5 min) otherwise the 1 min will be tricky... now can you scalp from the 1 min ? YES you can... but you need a very solid definition of trend... its very recomendable having very long shot lines on the 1 min if scalping is in the proyect... Now that you explained this parameters, look at the red line... it is 200... gives a more clear trend panorama for a 1 min scalper... cheers Walter.

For example... if we wanted to use a counter method on an evident exhaustion scenario... look how the fantailvma3 template gives a nice competitive timing... all ideas... cheers Walter.
