One question here Sparrow... what setting should I put to your indi in order to get something similar to the cyan and red lines from Unicorn... Technically speaking, is it the same formula from Unicorn`s cyan and red lines ? Thanks for this contributions Sparrow... I am positive we will get to the point of having Unicorns exact same template on NT as well... I read on NT forum some nice entuthiasm on vma`s ¡¡ thanks again, cheers Walter.

Yes, the edge here is that they are Vma`s and have a very nice clean performance... cheers Walter.

Hi Nicforce, welcome aboard ¡¡ glad you like what you see ¡¡ Excellent questions ¡¡ here you can see how we are on a "good crisis" of multiple alternatives... that happens because I am doing an "open research" wich means I am not taking into my threads I final product YET... but I am bringing an idea and I am developing it together with a great interactive and generous comunity of traders and programers... so let me try to answer this good questions : questions 1 and 2 you have two timing alternatives... alt 1 : with the vmas (crossover type) on the smaller time frame... alt 2: with the oscillator on the large time frame... each one has diferent pros and cons... I personally would be inclined to the first alternative as it really takes the very best from vma`s... question 4 Yes¡¡ I agree... take profit.. thats what I call inteligent exit... each one of this waves have an average length you can see that it has a nice normal lenght to take profits there... the HE of the yellow line told us it was over... good observation NIc ¡¡ question 5 and the rest : yeap to small profit on that exit... not competitive, thats why I prefer to do more trades with inteligent exits than wait for super moves that finally dont happen... NicForce, thanks for interacting... keep them coming ¡¡ cheers Walter.

Hi Agustin... I believe that at this stage of the vma research we have presented the overall concepts and we develepod various types of ways to see basicly the same thing... what thing ? : centrifugal and centripetal action... we presented how vma`s on diferent type of presentations can be used for timing as well... and also presented how oscillators can be used for timing as well... Ironically this could give a sensation of making things complicated... well they actually are... we are inside the BMW factory with all the engines disarmed in 1000 pieces... BUT this is going to evolve finally to a very simplified and optimized product as we can clearly see that the central column of the aproach is very simple and that the vma edge has already shown its clear existance... so we are having various presentations of a same aproach... your time frame "climb" actually happens depending on the strategy and also on how you use the indicators on the smaller time frames.. we will discuss this ahead... About the tools, lets say we are still testing various inputs YET... we keep interacting... cheers Walter.

Very nice explanations here Unicorn and also very nice inputs as well... What I finded very interesting is this two vma`s the cyan and red ones how they perform and all the nuances we can get from there for trading strategies.. I had been trying to find from our actual vma`s who would be similar and cant get there... I believe we need to program exactly Unicorn`s code to get there... Thanks for this great interaction ¡¡ cheers Walter.

I asume "signal" is your cyan line and "rainbow base" the red line correct ? looking this chart from Unicorn : Ok, what I see on this chart is how timing with the vma`s on the price pane can be more solid than with the oscillator... thats why timing with oscillator will always be more agressive than with the vma`s... One good timing criteria is The Cyan line getting out of the rainbow on 1 min or 55t charts... About stops, I will explain on next post... cheers Walter.

This videos try to give a little feeling of some live action... this is the chimp trade with the three lines on the 5 min chart and timing on 1 min with vma`s duo, also testing cci`s on 5 min for timing... unfortunately the last part of the second video had some problems with video soft so will look kind of weird, but still its understandable... I will post also here the template I used on 1 min for eur/jpy... this is a more optimized tight one... hope this brings more light into this alternative... cheers Walter. Setup : "Montaje" Timing: "Tiempos de Ingreso" that would be the most aproximate that comes to my mind now... cheers Walter.
-
Ok I continue with the second chart here from Unicorn... on the 1 min chart the first trade happens when the cyan gets outside the rainbow... the other trade look how nice the relation between the cyan and the red line give us confidence to take the timing with the oscillator... ok this other chart : the same timing principles could be applied there... and this other one : cheers Walter.

Thanks Bruce... I forgot to attach code... cheers Walter vmar_1[1].afl.txt

Hi Bruce... I need some help here... Unicorn has coded his version of vma`s... actually I had been interacting with him on this thread here http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/24/walter-s-forex-vma-trend-scalps-2558-7.html arround some of his charts... they look very nice and I finded some interesting nuances to his particular charts... he has been kind enough to share his code with us wich was done for amibroker charting platform... could we code this for mt4 as well ? please dont go bald ¡¡ cheers Walter.
-
ok Unicorn I really aprecciate that ¡¡ I will ask Bruce if he can code this version as you did for mt4... Also Sparrow, you may want to check on Unicorn`s code... Thanks a lot ¡¡ cheers Walter.

On this video I deal with an interesting phenomena between vma`s that help us gauge the momentum condition where we can decide with confidence to take a trade timed by the oscillator... also how this external cyan vma line can be used to time entries as well... I will see exactly what line this would be on mt4... also, Sparrow if you are planning to get this on NT... this set of indis just exactly as Unicorn has it for amibroker, they are a very powerfull pack ¡¡ Unicorn, would you be willing to share your indis and template for the amibroker soft as well ? thanks a lot ¡¡ cheers Walter.

This is a video about an alternative we really never dwelt with... but it is an alternative... and it is the timing on the 5 min chart with an oscillator, in this case the ccit3... As all alternatives it has some edge over the 1 min timing and it has its disadvantages as well... but I thought it would be good to add this alternative to our considerations... on next post I will add another video about an interesting factor on timing at the 1 min chart... cheers Walter.
-
Ok tested Blu-Ray`s ADXVMA6_CCI for mt4 and there is no plotting issues (repaintings)... works very good ¡¡ cheers Walter.
-
Oh My Lord ¡¡¡ I had been expecting this indicator a good time ago ¡¡ I will test him Blu... tell you how he does, specially on ploting issues... thanks man ¡¡ what a team we got here ¡¡ now we also have Sparrow who started to program our indis for Ninjatrader platform ¡¡ The chimp is so happy that he is dancing ¡¡ cheers The Chimp.

Hi Unicorn... lets start with this one : very nice vmar icon on 5 min... you see it could be timed on the 5 min chart with the oscillator (I will soon do video on this issue)... now timing on the 1 min chart was tricky with the oscillator, probably would got stoped... now look at the cyan vma when it gets out of the rainbow it gave a good timing... what I see, is this, if the cyan line is already ouside the rainbow then you can take the oscillator signal, now if the cyan line its inside the rainbow, you may want to wait till she gets out for a timing entry signal... ( I will video on this topic as well)... let me post videos, then I continue on the other charts... cheers Walter.
-
Well dont go nuts Bruce... its clear that mt4 has its limitations... I dont want to distract you too much on this... you know we have more than enough good arsenal to trade fine at this point... you see if its worth it the time and work... thanks for your great disposition Bruce ¡¡ cheers Walter.
-
I call noise when the time frame plots excesive amount of subcycles that actually its to far below the size of the cycle you are interested to trade... in consecuence you may have some undesired whipsaws... That 55t looks much cleaner than the 22T but still I liked your 110t as it was even more cleaner... now dont get me wrong, IF you plan to trade smaller cyles, then you can even go to a 9T chart as well, really depends on your strategy... for example on futures I do like very fast scalps... now on forex cash its not a very good deal thought... hope this clarifies a little bit... cheers Walter.
-
There is no hurry Sparrow ¡¡ it will be cool to see how we can also have this great indicators on NT.. I am very greatfull for your collaboration on this ¡¡ thanks a lot ¡¡ cheers Walter.
-
Thats great Sparrow, I will take a look at it... do you know if ccit3 could be programed also ? ... that would be so nice ¡¡ Thanks for encouragment Sparrow ¡¡ cheers Walter.
-
thanks for this info Unicorn.
-
As I am on mt4 , I dont have tick charts... sure tick charts are clean... but I would not use 22T on this case as I see it too noisy for this aproach... I like what the 110T chart gave you with ccit3 timings : unfortunately we still dont have a programer to do Pyenners Formulas on Ninjatrader platform, as it has tick charts and its also a free platform... hope we get there sometime... cheers Walter.
-
we could input date and time could we ? I will apreciate that Blu... I am smelling Midas here Bruce ? jejej cheers Walter.

Unicorn... there are several alternatives of combination there between the cci trio here http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/24/walter-s-forex-vma-trend-scalps-2558-2.html is a simple explanation of those alternatives... post 15 and 16... now the original is 5-3 and 5-10 what I notice you used 5-3 and 5-6 wich is much more leading and still competitive... so lets drop the 5-10 and replace it for 5-6 on the second one... cheers Walter.
