I hope everyone enjoyed todays trading... setups where very clear today, and this simple chart keeps performing very nice... Let me share with you some of todays setups, centrifugal and centripetal as well... One thing I want to share is "very specific timing" on smaller time frames with the same cci adapted on a smaller time frame... if you get very picky about when to push the mouse button on your platform, this is the way to get more quirurgical precision... on this charts I also share how the green and black lines gave better timings for divergence trades, sometimes the oscillator wants to get tricky during this extremes... on clean vma cross makes a good robust timing... more on next post...

Thanks Momentom... same thing from a diferent perspective... cheers Walter.

Thanks Josh for your work, and welcome aboard ¡¡... I certainly got a super team here ¡¡ you are more than welcome into this great interaction ¡¡ cheers Walter.

Its clear that I am tired, I revisit this thread and I already clearly posted what I was to share here... doing to much paralel research recently... I am starting with the new Midas stuff, its awesome ¡¡ SO its the ICON... first continuation after cross of magenta... maybe the new nuance here was only taking the first oscillation near to the magenta with a tight stop below/above magenta and dont fool with the other continuations that happen too far from the magenta... Best thing here I can do... its keep posting more charts on this aproach for the next 2 weeks so it gets really clear... let me share small video... cheers Walter. Let me update you right now on this... testings show very clean lines BUT... they lag compared to fxst3cci to much... so for scalping bussiness they are not so competitive... maybe for a day trader that would be more interesting to avoid more excesive amount of signals... now scalping is my stuff so, its more priority to direct my research into scalping type things... the settings I fulled most was: lead line (blue) : hull 9 , signal line (yellow) : adxvma 2 with hull 4 of adxvma, only plot hull of vma... chances are this combo is short lived due to my scalping tight normal expectations... cheers Walter.

Thanks Unicorn... we will be working a lot on this one... I think we will be new Pioners on Levines work... only we will add our fancy vma timing... By the way Unicorn, I am revisiting vma hull signal... but with a pure hull against this signal... keep you posted... as you know, this a laboratory... lots of testings... but thanks for insisting on this one... Thanks a lot Sparrow, will test this one... would you be willing to compare vwap formula against Levines original one to see how near/far we are from it ?... its on lesson 9 from the posted material... I attach again... Well imagine when we develop some real good morfology on this thing... I think it will be awesome ¡¡ Thanks for making this great team to all of you ¡¡ cheers Walter. Lesson-9.pdf

Thanks Agustin for this inputs... so far on this thread we comented on two posible oscillators to show divergences in order to take centripetal M types patterns to play a small refresh to the magenta line... that was Chaikin oscillator and BOP... I think Unicorn suggested Twigs Money flow also... should test it also... Its a nice oscillator , but basicly when things run out of gas on some extreme, you may want to take a refresh trade back to the magenta... Now, let me make clear they are agressive... cheers Walter.

Today I want to share some classic stuff here... something that will honor all the good old basic research done on the forex threads... This trade its good enough to make you a living, you dont need anything else... offcourse the same teacher that tells you that, its no good example on his waco demential weaknes for unlimited research ¡¡ jejejeje... but dont worry... I have to make clear that my research may be very colourfull BUT my live trading normally is the same old rutine... sometimes if I find something from my research that I really like it, I may incorporate it into my live trading so it may get a little variation... From all what I showed here (wich its no rocket science) this one I will show today is a classy one that I would be seriously willing to incorporate to my live trading... at least some 30 contracts... I may sound like a broken record... well hope may help someone with this tedious repetition... My classic pattern, easy and clear pattern that repeats over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over over and over and over AGAIN... jejeje :crap: its the ICON... Let me show you a scalper version on the next post using our latest cool indis.... I need cofee now... cheers Walter.

Hi Rob, welcome aboard... a little poupurry here, I must admit... for the already developed methods, you may want to check flip, lazy, false break trades threads... any way here as I am adicted to innovation I like to see what can be "optimized" and some times also "simplified" as well... There are some ideas here wich are more classic and others are more agresive like trading the divergences... we keep interacting, once again welcome... cheers Walter.

small video... we will start working on this... I believe it will deserve a new thread as well... cheers Walter. Rocking Vwaps.swf

I am in TOTAL JOY Sparrow ¡¡¡ cheers The Happy Chimp.

YES YES YES YES YES ¡¡¡¡ YES AND HURRAY YEEEEESSS ¡¡ YOU ROCK DUDE ¡¡¡ Thats the concept... ¡¡ what can I say.... I dont have words...
-
did it put you nervous Sparrow ? jejeje... well yes Midas trading would be just awesome ¡¡ it would basicly be a rejection technique... reject vwaps (dynamic vwaps) with some nice decent timing method... be it vma`s or hulls... and thats it... very simple, very powerfull... cheers Walter.
-
I am very used to ticks... but basicly it would be very similar... cheers Walter.
-
Thanks for your compliments Agustin... I use http://www.forexnews.com calendar... if its a heavy impact news I dont scalp before the news, and start scalping maybe 3-4 minutes after... the minute of the news and the 2nd minute of the news are characterized by super large market orders that make very crazy moves... once thats over you are in shape to trade... (this is for futures scalping)... forex is diferent and even futures daytrading may be diferent as well... hope this answers Agustin... cheers Walter.
-
Lets see if I can get you nervous with vwaps amazing dynamic S&R levels... a preamble to a cool midas aproach... combining good timing with excellent vma`s and this key high performing S&R levels.... mmmm could be my next research evolution... cheers Walter.
-
So far I tested it on 14 and looks good... smaller may get tricky, larger may not show on time divergences... its nice to take m`s looking at this divergences too... cheers Walter.
-
Hi Agustin... the news we had today was this : 2007.11.13 10:00 US November Consumer Sentiment n/f 47.3 43.8 Nice divergence there... now I am not looking actually into the cci`s divergences myself... can get tricky... I attach video of this trades... they actually are False Break M`s with a nice view of the BOP divergence for some more confidence... as all counter trend trades, if momentum is there you will get stopped... so on very strong momentum conditions this trades should be avoided... cheers Walter. Trading Alone or With Others in Trading Room?

NOOOOOOO ¡¡¡¡ jejejej... -
I am testing a series of indis from NT... there are some nice ones... a nice indicator that shows very small lived divergences is BOP (Balance of Power) you can read here how it works http://www.linnsoft.com/tour/techind/bop.htm so the idea here is to make some waves to the outside first... and then start looking for BOP divergence for a flash M trade scalp... for timing I am testing some new things as well... but for the sake of introducing this, lets say that a 0 line cross of fxst3cci makes a more robust entry... So thats a way to take some more confidence to trade M`s ... refreshing back to the magenta line... If the Divergence is more clear, the more effective may be the trade... Its scalping, in and out quick... cheers Walter.

Hello my dear fellow traders ¡¡... this week so far its being a wonderfull one... normal scalping routine and great research as well ¡¡ Yesterday I shared the centrifugal trades, trend trades, on the correct side of the magenta line... so let me start sharing some similar examples from today... as we had some news today, I waited until the news where released at 10 am NYT... then started to scalp... (on my chart 10 am nyt is 12 noon) on this case I share the oscillator based scalps, wich sometimes may put you in an overtrading scenario... key here is to shoot for very small profits on each trade... you may want to compare how the green/black lines overperformed on many times, calling for less trades and much longer exits... this is what I would call a real noisy scalping... not suited for everybody, demands speed on your part to close as soon as you get an exit signal... now on my next post I will share a very nice counter trend type (refresh) M type trade scalp that works very nice to scalp as well... cheers Walter.

Trading Alone or With Others in Trading Room?
walterw replied to nycdweller's topic in E-mini Futures
HI nyc, my trading is very quirurgical, so no boring, lots of concentration and no place for distractions... sharing happens off line after the trading event... I know traders that trade more longer time frames have time to interact live... music... easy listening, at very low volumes... cheers Walter. -
I tell you Bruce, NT looks good... I think the key would be selecting the right data feed to it... I am now testing a lot of indis from their forum, very nice stuff... so far last week and this week till now, I did not have any major data issues problems on their forex data... looks very nice... I wonder how they meassure volume on forex as it has volume histograms and I tried some volume based indis and work pretty good... this are some things that demand extra meditation jejeje... Now I am very positive on the Midas proyect, hope to find the willing programers for it... it is terrific the potential if combined with good competitive timing tools.... take care man ¡¡ cheers Walter. Just in case I attach again for those interested the Midas documents... Paul Levine Midas Trading Method 1.zip Paul Levine Midas Trading Method 2.zip

Always wondered how could indis be aplied to that one...
-
It is true that the "volume data" on any of this platforms its not reliable... but when you look a chart with this vwap indis its amazing the accuracy of the rejections... it just lets me thinking you know... Glad your scalping is doing ok ¡¡ cheers Walter.
