Sorry when you click on 'View Archived Event' you are given the choice to open or save it. This is even better as you can save for viewing at your convenience Cheers:o

TinGull and darthtradar Completing your life history before you gain entry seems to be a fact of life with the CBOT webinar archives. My experience is when you get to 'View Archived Event' and click on it the recorded event will open in Windows Media Player for "easy" viewing!! My machine is a PC on XP Cheers domanaperth

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
domanaperth replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
Hello everyone This is not a reply to any particular post but is posted with a view to seeking advice on VSA and in particular to the TradeGuider bootcamp course with William's book. Has anyone purchased the bootcamp course? What are your views on the course? What would be a good starting point - buy the book first [to get the basics] and then the course or just get the course [assuming that the course will have a large coverage of the topics in the book] and then if necessary the book just to complete the whole picture. I have no prior experience/knowledge of VSA per se other than having watched Galvin's introductory demo to members of TL and from what I have read in the posts in this forum. Any comments much appreciated. -
[Volume Based Candles] and how to profit

Hi What format are you using for this chart? I don't seem to be able to view it even though the link [thumbnail] opens in a new window. -
These have been given in Day Trading Forum at the following URL: Day Trading Forum - Value Areas and Point of Control James I noticed the ER2 values are different from yours. Any comments? I don't trade the ER2. Also apologies if I have infringed protocol by quoting from another forum. Just wanted to help another fellow member. Robert

James Thanks for your explanation. I didn’t know and didn’t even realise that the CBOT had gone down at the relevant point of time. Something new to me and to bear in mind for the future. Sure agree with you that it sucks if on the wrong side of the market – I was flat at the time. In fact I thought that the YM had finally caught up with fair value as it had been trading under FV for some days. Anyway after I posted my query I got an email from PureTick.com advising that the CBOT had gone down and that they had a video created on how to handle this type of situation if it happens again. I am placing the link to this video for the benefit of other members [i don’t have permission from them to do so but I hope they don’t mind me just directing interested parties to their creation]. Don’t know if the contents are with any foundation but would be grateful if you could give us your comments on the suggested method of handling a similar situation. “The CBOT (the exchange the YM is traded through) went down today for the first time in awhile. It's bound to happen from time to time and you should have a catastrophic plan to protect against losses. A few of our traders were in positions when this happened. I've asked Bearish trader to create a video on what to do if this happens again. I don't want any of you guys to get creamed. Please take a few minutes and listen to his comments. Thanks.†VIDEO: Chris I understand your comments about the use of MP to gauge the type of trading day Friday was likely to be. However there is no likelihood that MP powerful and useful as it maybe could have foretold the situation created by the CBOT halt. The TPO count etc might have indicated a possible type of trading day but it could not have taken the halt into consideration. As you say ‘something interesting to look at in hindsight’ All told we live and learn – something new each day. Thanks Robert

Chris YM action yesterday 12 January just before noon. Would you have any explanation for the YM gapping up over 30 points at about 11:45 am. The cash market was around 12550 or thereabouts and hardly moved when the YM suddenly gapped up. In fact it didn’t really move until later. Thanks Chris Robert

Please excuse this post as it may not be in the right section. I have only recently joined and have not posted before. With trading the Mini Dow [$5] the electronic trading hours are from 18:15 to 16:00 [Chicago Time] the next day. If I wish to trade only the [regular?] hours do I use 08:20 to 16:15 CT when the NYSE is open OR do I use 07:20 to 15:15 CT which is the trading hours of the DOW $10 Futures contract? I am using eSignal and I wish to have my charts plotted for the regular hours. I apologise if this post is not in the right forum. Thanks Robert
