any programmable charting software (ie TradeStation, MultiCharts, Ninjatrader, etc.,) can scan for any criteria you like.

so long as you do not start a new thread for each call... ps. you should post a periodic summary of your calls... good, bad, and ugly. most of us look at these as entertainment, unless there are explanations and reasoning included.

when you make a trade outside of your base currency, IB would "loan" you the money in that currency. thus you have a base currency account, and a secured loan in the "foreign" currency. after you have closed your foreign position, the balance is remained in the "loan" account (either positive or negative balance). you have to do a ideal pro transaction to convert the "foreign" balance back to your base currency. if you trade a lot of US instruments, it is better to declare the base currency as US$. you can make declaration either way any time you like.

you need the code for "compoundValue". ps. please use the code tag to wrap the code. It is the # key at the top of the message window. tagged code looks like this: declare lower; input alpha = 0.02; input price = close;

a friend relayed this story to me: a trader was very upset, because his stop was always picked by the MM, so he decided to not enter the stop, but instead keeps it in mind and only send it when the market gets there. guess what? the MM has telepathic power, he even picked the stop this trader had in mind !!!

if you can imagine it, visualize it, quantify it, articulate it, you can codify it.
-
just the point gain is not sufficient analysis... you need to look at your MAE and MFE, and your average points per trade.
