Measuring Strength of a Move Once in a Trade
Tams replied to brownsfan019's topic in The Candlestick Corner
BF surrendering to indicators ??? my, the World must be changing. Here's a little "indicator" that might help: set the look back to 2 bars, if the price never closed beyond the 2 bars, there is really no reason to exit. (of course you have to tune to a resolution that does not give you the noise, or increase the "look back" so that you don't get taken out by a spike) http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f46/scalpers-hl-bracket-sound-6084.html'>http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f46/scalpers-hl-bracket-sound-6084.html Hope the idea helps http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f46/scalpers-hl-bracket-sound-6084.html -

Router Having Sporadic Outages or Hangups

I have an extra of everything... extra keyboard, extra mouse, extra monitor, extra harddisk, extra computer... and an extra router at $25 a piece for the cheapest (might not be the best)... it is a price/time-effective deduction. -

first, you have to come up with a Hypothesis. let's just make an example... Hypothesis "HHLL-1" if the price trades higher than the previous bar's HIGH, the market will go higher. you can then make observation and collect data to test this assertion.

Moving Average is the most popular statistics traders use.

a picture is worth a thousand words, it would help if you can post a mock up. (with on chart notes, lines and arrows pointing to where you want your highlights) also, have you tried coding it? what have you done? what are the "results"? you should post your codes, so that people do not work in a vacuum.

Router Having Sporadic Outages or Hangups
Tams replied to brownsfan019's topic in Tools of the Trade
there is a conspiracy theory... that Microsoft has a dirty trick to get you to install their periodic updates -- they slow your computer down until you blame everything insight. Then your computer will miraculously restore to normal once you have completed your updates. ;-) -
don't you have to add HK$10 exchange fees to that? I am asking because I have always used bundled fees.

Router Having Sporadic Outages or Hangups
Tams replied to brownsfan019's topic in Tools of the Trade
are you using Vista? How old is your router? VISTA and W7 uses a new IP stack. It is not compatible with "some" older model routers. That's why you will see the new routers with "VISTA Ready" label on them. -
here are a couple of charts to kick off the discussion... (Friday 20090911)

FreeBASIC is FREE looks like a very capable compiler. I believe it is worthy of a try. http://www.freebasic.net/ you can write DLL to do things that EasyLanguage cannot do, then instruct TradeStation or MultiCharts to make calls to them.

I am not sure if I understand what you mean/want. you can put the mock up in the Paint program and add arrows/lines to point out to the specific place you are talking about... then add notes on the chart to describe the following: 1. what the code is doing now, 2. what you want the code to do. 3. what is triggering the "highlight" on the chart.

This is what I suggest to people on getting a programming project off the ground: 1. write out your thoughts ONE LOGIC at a time, 2. write out your logic ONE ACTION at a time, 3. write out your actions ONE LINE at a time, in no time you will have your indicator written in EasyLanguage. Good luck
