  1. can you post your screen shot?
  2. a picture is worth a thousand words !
  3. Interactive Brokers have a very strict margin policy they will do a calculation 15 mins before close, if your available fund is less than the overnight margin, your position is automatically liquidated IMMEDIATELY. they don't wait for the close, and they don't give you notice, they don't care if your position is making money, they don't care if you have a bank transfer pending, your position is closed. period !
  4. I am glad I am touching your nerve... it can only happen if you allow people to do so...
  5. what do you mean by "impossible" ? your stop loss is too small? it triggers too soon? not triggered at all? etc...
  6. h[1] = high of the previous bar EasyLanguage works on bar-by-bar basis; it doesn't matter what is the bar resolution...
  7. if you can rewrite the above in the following format, I might be able to give you a hand: 1. write out your thoughts ONE logic PER LINE 2. write out your logic ONE action per LINE 3. write out your action ONE sentence per LINE 4. start a NEW LINE for every sentence
  8. play back old data... tick by tick, as if the market is unfolding in front of you in real time. some programs would allow you to playback in fast forward mode, or bar-by-bar mode. The professional grade programs can play in bid and ask. more sophisticate program can play back synchronized multi-stream data at the same time. eg. playing the Dow Jones index along with YM and ES futures.
  9. a big surge in demo request ??? over loaded the server ? the demo has always been a hit and miss... for God knows how long. just check the various web forums and you get the time stamped complaints. and they are still working on the volume data after XXX months ? they talk as if it takes a rocket scientist to code the volume routine... the simple fact is, the data feed format from the exchange is published information. every broker/supplier gets the same data in the same format... how long does it take, and how many programmer it needs, to figure out how to parse the data? you tell me. OEC offers a fantastic "package"... EasyLanguage compatibility and all. I think they have potential... I would have opened an account with them too. but I think people got to stop dreaming and know what is a put off, and what is a real legitimate reason.
  10. p.s. I am not saying there are no price patterns out there... it is the market context that give the pattern meaning... not the pattern itself. Looks like you have lots of reading material in the course you have purchased... maybe it is the context we haven't understood from you. Can you put some notes on the chart, alongside the arrows?
  11. nah... not a hostile thread... nor hostile people responding in a hostile way... just a lot of tried traders speaking of the harsh reality of learning to trade you asked for opinions... you get opinions. not all the opinions are agreeable, not all the opinions are worth reading (including this one, heheh) but such is the life on an open forum. the chart pattern looks interesting but as in 99% of the setup out there,,, they work when you look at it, but don't work when you put money in it. the reasons are simple, 1. vendors choose the best example for illustration. 2. we have selective eye sight, we tend to see what we want to see, and overlook what we don't I haven't tested your pattern, but I can guarantee you, if you put that pattern in a programmable charting software (e.g. MultiCharts or TradeStation), you will quickly see that the possibilities are no more than 50%-50%. Why do I know? Let's say, there is nothing new under the Sun. (I think that's from the bible... and that's a very old book.)
  12. I am glad to hear your success. Please post your setup/code here, so that we can learn from you.

  16. I took a quick look at one of your vid, you sound like an ok guy. note: I said he sounds like an ok guy. no, this is not an endorsement or opinion of his trading method.
  17. Thanks for the feedback... This indicator is still in beta. Anyone up for a coding experience? You can start a new thread... we can make it a community project.
  18. I asked, not out of disrespect, but because you said you have your video on youtube... I haven't watched them... my feeling is, you sound like a commercial venture.
  19. a lot of the new charting software have play back function... this can speed up the learning curve by manifold.
  20. Singapore is a fantastic place... I love the people, I love the city, I love the food... the people are smart and well educated, their attitude are open and progressive, the infrastructure are well designed and implemented, the city (country) is geographically centrally located, they have all the prerequisites to be successful, but somehow... they never attracted enough business to make a solid base.
  21. Korean market is very active... but they don seem to persuade much international business.
  22. Hong Kong recent IPOs have raised more money than anywhere else in Asia, they are in a position to take the lead. but the money they raised are mostly for HK stocks... They have to expand their horizon if they want to be a leader. ie. they need an international outlook, also, they don't have a bond market, and their options market is immature.
