I'm a 46-year old full-time trader. Made my first own trade 26 years ago and have been at it mostly since, besides a 6-year stint in the US Marines followed by five and half years at AT&T, but even still, I traded part-time during that time.

I grew up around trading, got my first job when I was 12 years old running paper tickets as a floor runner at the Chicago Board of Trade. Was mentored by Welles Wilder himself a few years later. This is before computers. We would receive our charts on newsprint every Saturday morning via postal mail, and actually hand drew our indicators on those paper charts. We would plot out moving averages, Fib ratios, and ADX levels all painstakingly mathimatical by yellow legal pad and pencil, and then transferred to the paper charts. Those were the days!

I've always been a tradestation user. I was actually sold my first copy by Bill Cruz himself back in 1989. It was called SystemWriter back then. Later changed to SuperCharts, and now tradestation. It

  1. Profitable trading is an art which can never be automated, but must be mastered over time. Markets are too dynamic with ever changing conditions to have any automated system do well. I have reviewed hundreds of black box systems over my 20+ year trading career and only a small handful were profitable long term, however, each had drawdowns in excess of 45% which disqualifies me from using them due to a 15% drawdown limit which I have imposed on my trading from the funds which I manage.
  2. Here's some interesting data, that I'm sure is ignored by the libnut gun grabbers.
  3. An excellent video outlining the true differences between a sport rifle and assault rifle.
  4. That's good. Trespassers should get shot. Same with my land... if a trespasser comes, I shoot first, ask questions later. If the trespasser was so stupid to not realize he was trespassing, then he shouldn't be living anyway. The strongest of all breeds shall evolve. Stupidity shall perish.
  5. GUN KILLINGS CONTINUE IN STRICT GUN CONTROL CHICAGO The magical shield of strict gun control laws in Chicago continues to fail. Perhaps they need to declare Chicago a “gun-free zone”? CHICAGO- Authorities are investigating the shooting deaths of five people in a single day of bloodshed in Chicago. Police Officer Daniel O’Brien says Saturday’s first killing occurred at around 2:15 a.m. on the city’s west side when a gunman opened fire on two men who were sitting in a parked car, killing one and wounding the other. Investigators say a few hours later, someone opened fire on three men near a South Side eatery, killing two of them and wounding the third. Detectives were called to the scene of another shooting Saturday afternoon in which a man in his 30s and a teenager were shot to death. There had been no arrests. Chicago’s homicide count eclipsed 500 last year for the first time since 2008.
  6. Are you suggesting there isn't' 260 million guns in the hands of U.S. citizens? I think you need to go back to study hall.
  7. Meanwhile in Great Britain.... It all starts with just a little law to ban a little bit of our gun rights to "protect the children"... Don't EVER give in ONE INCH.
