Ok, how would you use that area for a trading strategy? Do you look to fade the upper and lower levels of the box? Or do you not trade around that area but look to place a trade as price moves away from it?

So basically the lag with TS is not caused by the video card but by the ram? Im having no issues using both an AGP and PCI card. I'm using some kind of converter for 2 monitors. (looks like a plug to attach the main cord of the monitor and then gets plugged into the graphics card) This was required. Im not sure what they are called since the tech guys did this stuff for me. But I believe they are like $3 a piece. That FireMV 2400 PCI looks sweet. Is that for a PCI Express?

Tin when you refer to a fat profile area, are you indicating a POC or an area of confluence?

NYSE Advancing Issues Market Internal Tool Study
Soultrader replied to Soultrader's topic in Trading Videos
woah! what exactly did you do? The 4 tick chart $ADV is plotted directly on the TTM.. so you are using it like a super fast moving average? How many bars do you set your TTM to? I noticed that indicators can not be overlayed on a tick chart. I am very curious if the $ADV can be plotted as a line of close chart directly on a tick chart without the scaling. (just experimenting) -
Okay cool.. because I wasnt aware of the DDR2 specifications. Luckily the video card I bought is a DDR. What are dual channels?

Didnt the SOES bandits take advantage of a "glitch" front running market makers and selling it back to them? I dont think that would be called a system in my opinion. I dont think anyone will ever tell you a system that actually works. Why would they? 100% of the commercial systems are total bs in my opinion. Plus the systems that actually DO work require deep pockets. So I do not think they are in the hands of retail traders. I have received numerous emails ever since I started this board from system vendors. They are not selling the system to me but are trying to see if I was interested in promoting it to traders in Japan. I told every single vendor to piss off. I am a discretionary trader and there is no secret to trading. There is nothing that cant be done discretionary that a system can do. My strategies will be traded differently by other traders... some may even be inspired to tweak it to fit their own style.

NYSE Advancing Issues Market Internal Tool Study
Soultrader replied to Soultrader's topic in Trading Videos
Very good point Walter. That never crossed my mind. I will be posting more insights on this one. -
I highly doubt it if its new. My motherboard is an 3 year old ASUS (or ASUCKS). I do not even have a PCI express slot. I heard the ATI All In One Wonder 2006 or Geforce 7600GS is a good choice for video cards. Both of them are a AGP version.

Im the ignorant new generation trader who know nothing but direct access trading The tape freezes for a few seconds at times when the market becomes extremely fast. Which freezes my workspace. I use a seperate workspace for my matrix so it doesnt affect this. I think its mainly because of my recording tools and chart snapshots. I decided to upgrade to 3gigs ram and just purchased the new video card so I should be good to go. I still need a PCI card.. unfortunately the ATI Ratheon 1800 PRO does not have a PCI version so I will need to find another card for my PC.

Ok Im not that techie myself. But I asked some few tech guys earlier and they told me that their is two types of memory. DDR and DDR2. Apparently DDR2 is a newer version and is faster. 128mb is the storage room for your video card. If this is too low, the video card forces your CPU to run (no idea how or what this means) and apparently slows down your PC. The bit rate is how fast information is processed. So lower the bit the slower data is processed. I was told a 128mb with 252 bit is superior than a 256mb with 126bit. Im more concerned about how fast data can be processed because right now I use a 128mb with 64bit and it is creating some lag on tape at times. I want this running smoothly especially when I record it. Are you familiar with paltalk? There is a room called "PC Tech" which is a free PC help room. Its quite amazing and its free. I use it from time to time for some tech related stuff.

NYSE Advancing Issues Market Internal Tool Study
Soultrader replied to Soultrader's topic in Trading Videos
Ive never really look at it. Im sure I can get it to set up on my TS... the question is do you find it useful? How do you build a strategy around it? If you have any insights please let me know -
I would be very interested wsam, since I am in need of a PCI card. Just went to the local PC store earlier and didnt find what I want. The only problem with the link you posted is the 32 bit. (if im correct) The only reason I went with the ATI Ratheon 1800 PRO is cuz of the 256 bit. Im not looking for graphics but speed. Maybe if I find something myself, I'll post it up here.

Decided to go with ATI Radeon 9800 PRO, 128mb with 256bit. I looked around but was more concerned with the amount of bit. I prefer absolutely no lag on my monitors. This is a AGP version so I still need to shop around for a PCI card. At first the ATI Radeon All In One Wonder 2006 looked nice with 256mb and 256bit but unfortunately I can not find one here in Japan. Tried to get them off ebay but wont ship overseas. Its either another PCI card or the Matrix TripleHead2Go but they dont run cheap.

Alot of day traders are now watching the same market internal tools: ex. TICK, TRIN, TIKI, PREM, PC Ratio. I figured why not bring the old school back? I know the Advance/decline issues was a common tool used back in the days. I am sure alot of traders still use this. I have decided to look into the NYSE Advancing Issues internal tool. (Ticker Symbol: $ADV) The reason why is because of the simplicity of it. If price if lifting we like to see more stocks advancing as well. If price lifts while stocks decline, this is a warning signal. The ADV tool gives off pure information in my opinion. If you have further insights on this tool please share it with us. This is the final fix for the Heikin Ashii & Volume Delta Add-on. A bug appeared in the previous version in which some of the blue bars would show a green dot. I have tested this version and is working perfectly. Thanks to walterw for coding this up. What does it do? Assuming you have both the Heikin Ashii Trend Indicator and the Volume Delta imported into your Tradestation platform, this will plot a red or green dot between the color divergence of the Heikin Ashii and Volume Delta. If more selllers appear at a blue Heikin Ashii bar, it will plot a red dot on top of the price bar. If more buyers appear at a red Heikin Ashii bar, it will plot a blue dot on top of the price bar. Screenshot is attached. Installation: Import .ELD file. I it will appear as Delta Ttm Div 2 under the ShowMe tab. DELTA TTM DIV 2.ELD

Definitely a good index to be watching on the daily charts.

Hi guys, Anyone have any video card recommendation for 4 monitors? Im currently using two Nvidia Geforce cards and they are not good at all. Im looking for something that can boost up my graphics speed. I dont mind using 2 cards as well.

Another great book by James Dalton. Alot of new insights in this book and the material is not repetitive from Mind Over Markets. There are several parts of the book which I found tremendously useful. First thing was understanding different timeframe buyers/sellers further, second was the volume analysis on brackets, and third was the balancing of price during a trend. This book is definitely not for the new market profiler learner so I would recommend you to read Mind Over Markets first. I would also rate it 5 stars.

A week or two ago, MrPaul brought up an interesting chart comparing the major indices with the Insitutional Holdings Index. While the major indices were at new highs and a magnificent uptrend, the Insitutional Holdings Index showed a complete rangebound market. The original thread was posted on Feb. 17, 2007 here: http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f38/overall-market-health-1214.html This rangebound indicated that the insitutional funds were no longer buying. On top of this information, the major indices were showing high volume pullbacks with low volume rallies. A warning sign? Clearly. The charts were telling us that a potential top was in place with clear hints of a uptrend losing steam. On Feb. 27, 2007 the Dow crashed 500pts along with the entire market. Now do we blame it on China and the Shanghai Index dropping 9% overnight? I dont think so. A smart trader/investor would of known what was to be expected. Alot of the traders in the trading chat room were fully aware of the potential top in place.
