Property value in Hong Kong has also recovered completely... China and HK are likely to lead the recovery in Asia. Japan is still struggling and will likely take some time before we see any signs of recovery. However, I have been actively looking for property in Tokyo and have seen many investors come and scoop up decent properties with cash. Investors are definitely buying at this stage and properties under $500k are the most popular at the moment.

We are pleased today to announce the partnership of Traders Laboratory with Room to Read. Who is Room to Read? Room to Read is an innovative non-profit leader dedicated to promoting and enabling global education. Founded in 2000, the organization is based on the belief that education is crucial to breaking the cycle of poverty in the developing world. Since then, the organization has supported over three million children by providing increased access to higher-quality educational opportunities. Room to Read has established more than 700 schools and over 7,000 bilingual libraries with five million books, and continues to support the education of nearly 7,000 girls. A library costs only $4,000 to build. In Africa, costs are a bit higher at $15,000. If every member on TL donates even $1, we can build over 7 libraries providing educational access to thousands of children annually. For more information please visit our official Room to Read page here: http://www.traderslaboratory.com/roomtoread.html Thank you!

Volume Spread Analysis thread - summary
Soultrader replied to mister ed's topic in Announcements and Support
Unfortunately we can not recover the lost attachments. Very sorry about this and we have taken alot of measures to prevent further hacking from happening. -
Interesting thread bathrobe, I rarely play breakouts either.... in fact I fade breakout failures, which is often my favorite play. Only time I feel comfortable placing a market order on a breakout is if the volume 1 bar back is higher than the average of the past few bars. Or if price had been lingering around the top/bottom bracket without falling back towards the other side of its range.

North Korea Conducted 2nd Nuclear Test
Soultrader replied to Soultrader's topic in Market News & Analysis
Whats interesting is that non of the non-Asian news channels show this still. CNN apparently is still reporting an earthquake at N. Korea: Earthquake shakes North Korea - CNN.com Perhaps the next time you hear about an earthquake in N. Korea go short the Kospi... could be a 3rd nuclear test. -
North Korea Conducted 2nd Nuclear Test
Soultrader replied to Soultrader's topic in Market News & Analysis
Chart of the Kospi one minute chart. -
Article here: http://www.koreaherald.co.kr/NEWKHSITE/data/html_dir/2009/05/25/200905250080.asp Market reaction was severe, Kospi dropped more than 6 points in 3 minutes. Luckily I was positioned short... took in over $2k in less than a minute. Bids disappeared instantly... I think the market may have skipped over 1pt on the decline. Never seen anything this fast on the Kospi.... without stops this market can kill you.

Hi Blowfish, Thanks for the reply. Which language would you be referring to if I was to use CQG? Would C++ be the correct choice? Thanks.
-
Thank you all so much for the suggestions. I just got back from the bookstore, got myself some intro books on C++ and Python. I am not looking to do anything fancy as all my strategies are very simple. The only issue was I couldnt even program simple stuff. As for EasyLanguage I am not sure if I will ever use Tradestation as I am pretty much hooked on the CQG platform and hard for me to convert at the moment. I may start flooding the Coding forum with some newbie questions so I hope its okay... hopefully nobody reports it to me Are C++ and C# two different languages? Im still unclear regarding the similarities between different languages... I suppose if I learn C++ or Python I could easily adjust to the rest? Thanks!

Decided to take another stab at learning programming. Its been my number weakness for years and yet Ive been delaying this requirement. Can anyone recommend any programming language and books on where to start? Primarily interested in being able to code strategies for various platforms. So probably best if I begin with something general and compatible with all the mainstream platforms. Thanks!

Will do Db, thank you.

Not too great today... tried to pick bottoms early on and dug myself a hole in the first 2 trades. 3rd trade managed to bring my PNL back in the green with the 4th scalp trade putting me ahead. Not much gains today but good to end positive. Also, had to leave in the afternoon so only traded the morning. Wish I had stayed... I missed some nice setups in the afternoon.

One tough day for me today.. pure frustration. Couldnt make anything today ended the day down 6 ticks. Minor loss... couldnt locate any good setups so tried to grind it out. Well, we still have tomorrow.

In Korea, real-time datafeed is free of charge complimentary of the brokerage firm. This is industry standards in Korea. You might want to contact the following firms: Samsung Securities or NH Futures who have an international dealing desk and can offer these data for free using their own in house platforms. NH Futures: James Paik - james.paik (@) nhfutures.com Samsung Securities: Wonsook Lee - ws1001.lee (@) samsung.com Both represenatives are fluent in english.

If you open an account with a broker that offers CQG Trader then you are looking at this model. This is because CQG uses the hosted gateway model for all its partners. Here is a list: Trade with FCM Partners I would also look into Infinity as well since I do recall they offered this model.

Sorry guys, been a bit busy lately. Trying to work out a partnership with a charity organization... goal is to start building libraries in developing countries as a collective effort by the TL community. Should have some sort of announcement by this week regarding it. Btw a library can be built for $19,000.... if everyone here donated $1 we could easily build one. Todays trading - 1 trade... morning session was rangebound with minimal activity. Same with the Nikkei. Initial plan was to get on board a move into the afternoon. From the price and volume action, the anticipated move was upwards. Hence, my long setup. For ES traders, the PNL is equivalent to 6 - 6.5 ES pts per contract. Kospi is volatile and can be quite fun

To enhance the buy, sell, trade forum we have implemented a rating system similar to ebay. Each member is assigned whats called an "itrader" rating. This can be seen in your post information area located here: Clicking on the rating will take you to a input page as seen below. You can then click on submit feedback. There are a few mandatory steps. First, you must select if you were the buyer or seller of the transaction. Second, you must add a positive, neutral, or negative rating with your comment. Third, you must provide a short comment. Fourth, you must provide the url of the transaction. (thread url) Lastly, final comments is needed. All transactions placed on TL through the Buy, Sell, Trade forum must use this rating system. For any questions please post here. Thank you.

Allowed to Offer Charting Software I Do Not Need Anymore?
Soultrader replied to ESTRDR's topic in General Discussion
Its best to ask Tradeguider direct as most firms do not allow the sharing of licenses. You should look into perhaps selling your license which may be possible.
