  1. I have hard stops hardwired in my head at all times. Its come to a point where I dont have to actually place a stop but I am automatically cutting losses super quick. Get into the habit of placing hard stops. Through experience you will be able to be more lenient with stop placement but until you are confident in yourself about taking losses, PUT THAT STOP IN! If it takes you out, great. It just saved your butt from more losses. If it stops you out and moves in your favor, work on entry precision and adjust stop placements. If your entries are well crafted, stops can be tight. If you are depended on confirmation of price action, you are going to take some heat. Determine how much heat you usually take and adjust your stops accordingly. Also, never walk away from an intraday open position. That was your number one mistake.
  2. Use offshore brokers. Thats how I started day trading Nasdaq stocks with under $25k my first 6 months trading. I eventually moved to TS since their customer support sucked big time.
  3. Interesting, what classifies as a breakout from the VWAP level? Is it a break out of the bands? (btw, what bands are those?) Or perhaps I havent been following enough of the strategy threads? Thanks
  4. I used to pay close to $300/month for data and platform. Plus another $100-$200 a month on trading book expenses. I found Sierra charts to be extremely cheap in terms of costs as well.
  5. Its most likely a FireFox issue. I cant see how our system would affect that. Its working fine for me in Opera and IE.
  6. I see, it is not possible to do so with actual threads. The system will not support this.
  7. Hi GCB, I have updated the first thread with the new ELD attachment. For future reference, I have added the function of allowing certain forums to be editted anytime. You should be able to update, edit your threads in this forum at any given moment. Thanks.
  8. Hey brownsfan, Are you referring to the new threads box at the bottom of the page? If so, I think I have a solution. Or are you referring to the posts inside a thread? This would be extremely hard to do.
  9. Got myself a new laptop for entertainment purposes: http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/cmod.to?coid=-33917&seg=HHO Actually my first laptop in my life. I am stunned with the quality of monitors these days. Just viewed my website and didnt even notice some of the colors I see now compared to my old LCD screens. Apparently this laptop uses speakers for Ferrari's. I need to get an additional 1-2 gb of ram though.
  10. Hello Pivot Profiler, I just wanted to say thank you for introducing VSA to the forums. It was a serious eye wakening experience for me, similar to the moment I learned market profile and learned tape reading. It has helped me tremendously in my trading and have been studying volume (per bar volume especially) ever since you recommended Master The Markets. I dont necessarily follow VSA by the book but the method and techniques used to study volume has been a life changing experience for me. :bow down:
  11. Hey T, Thanks for the video. I just added this thread to my favorites list so will come back to it once I free up from work and send you some feedbacks.
  12. My advice? Just read it, absorb it, become a master at it. Once you grasp the concept of MP completely, it will completely change the way you view the markets. Since learning MP, I feel like I am communicating with the markets everyday. Its sort of like watching a movie on mute and trying to figure out whats going on. Once you start understand human behavior you start to get an idea of what the movie is all about. For me learning MP was a similar experience.
  13. Hey brownsfan, can you explain further? Im not sure if I follow the concept you have in your mind. Thanks
  14. Hello guys, I havent tested out TraderDNA and they are getting the portal done for our site at the moment. From what I hear the cost ranges from $50-$80 a month. But I will check to see for sure and any possibility of offering free trials. TraderDNA is not your typical trading vendor where it tries to rip less informed traders. It is a way of trading analysis to help you understand yourself better as a trader. Whether you take advantage of the features and find the data useful is up to each individual trader. I think tingull had a test run some time ago, I'll see if I can get him to discuss some of the features on this thread.
  15. Ok, let me know what problems you encounter. It seems to work fine here but perhaps I can simplify the thread posting for the book review section. Thanks
  16. Nice... you are going to piss off alot of pivot point indicator vendors. Thank you GCB. Great stuff.
  17. Im going to be following up with this thread Tin. Thank you very much for your analysis. I currently do not trade using candlestick pattern but do so using the psychology behind each bar. (using volume as well) I basically apply candles to determine when losers are likely to liquidate or cover or to feel the emotions behind the traders involved in it. Im looking to exploit the mistakes and ride the momentum on stop losses.
  18. Thank for you for the resources cooter.
  19. Feel free to clog it RumpledOne as long as it adds value for traders in any way. And no need to worry about getting banned here as long as everyone's post remains respected. The other forums where you kept getting banned, obviously can not sell their vendor indicators with you on board Youre more than welcome to post anything you like here.
  20. Looks good RumpledOne. Actually, thats pretty cool.
  21. Thanks for the contribution RumpledOne. Keep them coming
  22. Can you attach the indicator on the thread RumpledOne? Thank you
  23. hello Nate, Im sorry i dont quite understand what sort of info you need? What do you mean by a pt 2? Are you having some issues posting a new review? Thanks
  24. I take the average for the entire position. So lets say I took +10 for 1/2 position, +20 for 1/4 position, and +30 for 1/4 position. This will be an average of (10 + 25)/ 2 = 17.5 points. I find it inaccurate for a trader to state he took 30 points in total when in reality that was only for a quarter position.
  25. hehehe... I bought myself a laptop also. Using Vista with Office 2007! I use it for entertainment purposes so its okay but for trading it would be a piece of crap. I think Windows XP classic default is the best way to go.
