  1. Hi BlowFish, Thanks for the notice. I will look into this and have my coders fix this up. Regards, James
  2. Hi, To answer your question YM futures contract have the following expiration months: March, June, Sep, Dec. The cost per roundtrip transaction is dependant on your broker. This is a fee you should negotiate directly with your broker. Depending on your volume roundtrip commision can range $3-$5 per roundtrip. Futures trading is not subject to the 25k minimum accounts. You will not be flagged as a day trader even if you place 100 trades a day with an account smaller than 25k. Most futures brokers will allow you to open an account as low as $5,000. There is no limitation on how many times you can trade the markets a day. Your contract size will be based on how much margin you can put up. But since you sound like you are still new to this, I would not even consider risking money at all. Or even think about trading 2 contracts before even trading 1.
  3. Thank you smwinc, Quick question regarding tick volume for EBS data. Does this represent the actualy number of transactions within amongst the banks or is it simply showing the number of times price changes amongst the EBS banks?
  4. Just recently learned about EBS. Using CQG, I am able to receive EBS datafeed for currencies. When comparing charts I see that EBS charts are alot more smoother with less noise. In combination with tick volume, I am able to read volume for EBS data. Do most traders here have accesss to EBS data? I understand EBS is not available to everyone? If so, why not? Why would anyone trade Foreign Exchange without EBS datafeed when there is clearly an advantage for those have access to it? Thanks Chart below shows side by side comparison.
  5. Great idea thrunner. Always wanted to do something like it but was never sure of the format of things. I will get to work on it.
  6. The following day, the markets tested the pdl before rallying higher. This is one of my favorite patterns; to look for longs when we have higher value placement on a downtrend day. Another favorite is when price rallies strongly into the close only to have overlapping to lower value placement. A very good pattern to grab a short into the close or in the after hours. Also note that this downtrend but with higher value placement occurs at a very key area of the double bottom low formed on January 22, 2008. JGB futures (Japanese government futures) has also fired 3 short signals for me this week. Perhaps we are seeing a possible bottom in place? I say this because the general public here in Tokyo is talking alot about JGB... seems to be the more popular contract amongst brokers, institutional sales traders, and the general public. Hence, I am sensing a potential turning point.
  7. Sure, even A and B period alone is enough to develop strategies around it. Not necessarily the developing value but below is a setup from March 14, 2008 that bests illustrates this. We had a very wide IB telling us that price was most likely going to rotate within the IB. Hence, a strategy built around this concept was to fade the test of high or low.
  8. It would be trader preference but alot of the traders I talk in Tokyo wait for the initial balance to develop first. I also obtain a clearer picture of the developing profile by waiting until the IB settles. However, I do take trades at the opening if price is at or near S&R levels... or is quickly rejected above/below key mp levels. Waiting for the IB to complete helps as the range of the IB leaves good clues on the type of day we are likely to have.
  9. Interesting price action on March 19, 2008. However value area is overlapping to higher. Daily charts shows a nice double bottom test on lower supply volume. TL! Videos
  10. Hi James, Did you want to setup one up for tonight? I wont be around but will leave my pc running throughout the night so ppl can access the paltalk room. I can give you admin priveleges as well. Let me know and will set that up for you. thanks
  11. From what I see, it seems like I would need to open the room everytime which is going to be impossible to do during US hours. I havent tried yet with additional admin accounts so should give it a try first. If anyone else can be committed to running a room, perhaps it could be an option as well.
  12. haha yea read that in Reuters. Apparently the entrance is also visited by real estate agents offering cheap apartments for Bear Stearns employees who just had their stock options go down the drain.
  13. haha... nice one T. I know a guy in Bear Stearns... bought a house at the top of the bubble, now being bought by JP Morgan and possibility of losing his job. Dumb? Found out about this news this morning Tokyo time. Was quite surprised.... so basically they had no money of their own but only its hedge fund clients? WTF???? Article here.
  14. Okay Im stuck here. How would I go about switching this CQG language to IRT language. Vol(@)[1] < Vol(@) Volume of next bar is less than volume of current bar. Thanks.
  15. Heres a ES chart from Friday. Semi-automated trade setups using price relationship to volume and MP resistance levels. The 1299 mark was VAL from Thursday. I get 3 signals indicating weakness at/near the VAL pivot. First we are seeing price open above Thursdays high, rejected, and tank. Now the retracement tries to break back into Thursdays value area. Then seeing bars of weakness indicates price is not ready to go back above into Thursdays value area. So planning shorts around this level is a clear defined strategy using price action and market profile concepts.
  16. Thank you Chad. I like the Sessions Statistics indicator. I am curious to see if the green stepping line can be ignored? Instead of trying to update each bar, is it possible to have the lines just plot once the first 60min is complete? Thanks
  17. Heres the group link: http://chat.paltalk.com/g2/group/1038141155/WebLoader.wmt However, do I need to enter this room always to make it open? Can I appoint someone else as admin to have the room open?

  21. I already have a Traders Laboratory room on paltalk which I created about a year ago. Wanted to make it a TL chat room back then... I believe its still there. If interested I can double check on this.
  22. Hi Chad, What I am trying to do is to plot the initial balance directly on my candlestick charts. Thanks
  23. Hi Chad, Would like to post this here so other users of IRT may find it helpful as well. I figured out how to plot painbar like studies on IRT using formulas. what I am interested in doing is having automatic horizontal lines plotted on the 60min high/low. Can you guide me on how I should go about doing this? Thanks
