How Important is Intuition in Your Trading? I definitely rely alot on intuition based on global market information, market reaction to earnings/news, and then determining the potential of a trade at a S&R level. As a result my style is shifted heavily towards the discretionary side which lacks any type of systematic approach. I do not have concreate rules at all except risk management. Perhaps my style has transformed this way due to my lack of progamming skills or perhaps by being around and learning from discretionary traders. We often phrase the markets in such ways like, "Market smells funny", "Market feels ready for a bounce", "Markets smell like fear", etc... The topic here is how much intuition do you use in your trading? What are the factors that you consider part of your intuition? Is there an edge for intuitive traders vs systematic traders? Are intuitive traders more flexible in adjusting with the markets? I often view my trading as "free style trading". Very quick to change my mind, and S&R levels are often dynamic adjusting levels throughout the day and night. If I was told to write a book explaining my methodology, I probably could not at this point in my career. Lets get this discussion rolling

To grasp a better idea of the world of algo trading, Automated Trader might be an interesting site to read. Good folks too, met them at the FIA in Tokyo last year.

[site update] New Site Design Launched!
Soultrader replied to Soultrader's topic in Announcements and Support
Forgot where this inquiry was posted but our chat room was having issues yesterday due to an upgrade in the chat room database. We've just completed this process now and all seems to work. The upgrade basically allows the forum to recognize chat room users as online now. Previously chat room users were being shown as offline. Thank you. -
Good work wolfbro, thank you!

[site update] New Site Design Launched!

Hi Kiwi, A few things from our end. We still can not replicate this error using the steps mentioned. My programmers and myself have tested this out on different pc's with FF 3.5.3 and also 3.7 alpha. We also tried with Chrome, IE, Safari, Minefield but can not replicate this issue as well. We will continue to investigate but want to make sure its also not PC related as well. Are you able to replicate this on a different pc? Is anyone else noticing this similar issue as well? (if anyone else is following this thread) Thanks! -
Hi Bil, Thanks for the notice. We ran a database update hence the current issue. I expected this to be finished hours ago but will check in with the developers to see what the issue is. Thanks.

Thanks Kiwi, Ill have my coder take a look. -
We just have a nice crowd of traders that tend to be respectful for one another. Of course creating the initial atmosphere is important but members on TL have done a great job preserving this culture.

For a temporary solution, I have added Google next to Advanced in the search engine (top right corner). Google custom search will basically search from the currently indexed pages so Im afraid it does not update real-time but should be more efficient compared to the current forum search engine.
-
Google site search would be ideal but due to the number of pages we have this is a very expensive solution and something we would not consider. The next vbulletin 4.0 system is supposed to have improved its search engine but I doubt we would migrate to 4.0 right away as this requires a recoding of the entire site. Ill see what other solutions we can implement. Thanks.

Hi Tiki, I had this up for a while but took it sometime ago. Ill he happy to add this back up. Thanks.

Hi Kiwi, By any chance, do you have alot of add-ons in Firefox? My programmers have come back to me that this may be one of the various issues causing such behavior. Meanwhile, if you can send me the cache files or log files that would be appreciated as we can investigate further. Its definitely CSS related in which firefox is not reading the CSS properly hence you are seeing the missing headers. Thanks Kiwi. Email: jameslee@traderslaboratory.com -

Im currently testing in FF 3.7 Alpha and seems to be fine. I think the changes to the CSS coding earlier may have done the trick. Please keep me posted. Thanks. -

Soultrader replied to brownsfan019's topic in Announcements and Support
Hi Bf, We spent some time investigating this issue and would like to request the following: 1. Please clear cache on your browser 2. Please clear cookies 3. Please disable add-ons on your browser or run browser in safe mode to see if it fixes the issue. Our programmers believe this is being caused by an add-on by your browser (most likely Firefox). The system was tested and no errors exist. If issues persist, please let us know so we can investigate in other areas. Thank you. -

We tested 3.5.3, IE7, IE8, etc... and seems to be working fine. My designers do not want to work with 3.7 just yet as it is unstable and Firefox may be buggy in regards to CSS. We will need to wait until 3.7 is released in order to apply any bug fixes. Im still looking why this issue is showing up in 3.5.3. Once we are able to replicate it, we will fix this problem. Thanks. -

Thanks ehorn! We also migrated all the ads you see on the site to a hosted solution to further speed things up. Currently in the process of lightening up some of the unused features as well to increase the speed. I wish I had a team Most folks think the site is run by a group of ppl but its just myself. (though marketing is handled buy a different firm) Every designer/programmer are just outsourced on a project basis which is why simple requests (like what Tams made above) took days to complete. Its a continous process of finding the right coder and designer for each specific request or improvement.
