Ide like to leave this alone unless it is absolutely necessary as changing the emoticon will distort all the text containing these characters so far.

Hi Db, Ide like to fix this if it was a technical issue. Could you let me know? Thanks.

Hi Bf, the brokerage firm is working on it at the moment to show PNL in USD. It may take some time.... the reason my platform does not show is because: 1. I am using an ISV (3rd party platform apart from the broker. You can see how the FCM is linked to NH Futures for this particular account. I clear through a FCM directly.) 2. KOspi trading requires deposit in KRW. As a result my entire balance is in KRW which I cant seem to understand as well. All I know is that 1 tick is equivalent to 25,000 KRW or approximately $20USD or something.

May 15, 2009 * Japanese markets based on day session.

It was Kospi200 options expiry on the 14th, last trading day of Kospi200 options. The expiration date is the second Thursday of the contract month.
-
Not a good day....spent the entire session trying to buy pullbacks looking for a rally into the close. Should of took smaller singles instead of aiming the triple/homerun.

A fixed rule is rather hard to implement. I really dont mind Db posting his ebook link, brownsfan posting donation link, eiger website, etc.... These are all contributing members who have provided alot of value for TL and turns out they have a website too. I dont see anything wrong with it. My major concerns are silent and obvious spamming.... so in honest opinion I must say that long timers and active posters have more flexibility than inactive and new members.

Sloppy trading today... sent a order to buy while trying to move my stop resulting in covering my short way to fast. Uncanceled bracket order gets hit resulting in a loss, etc... 1 trade made up for all my profits today. (last trade on my pnl list) All shorts btw. Only traded 2 hours today as I was out the entire afternoon.

Yep, new site provided by Worden. Pretty nicely done I must say.

My post above referenced 181.20 as a possible level for a short setup. My late lunch caused me to miss this move... very frustrated about this. Chart attached.

Hi Db, I urge members to report any posts that may be in violation of our Forum Guidelines, mainly because mods and myself may miss these posts. Regarding links, it is rather difficult to set clear rules. Sometimes, members may be referencing a source or pointing out a good resource for others. What I am concerned mainly about is vendors who register as vendors that post their own firms links. These are the ones I pay most closely to as it can get out of hand. On the other hand, a member who has been with TL for some time and have been receiving credibility amongst the members do have some flexibility. This is because of the trust the member has created. Also long timers on TL are clearly aware of the forum atmosphere we try to maintain. It is rather the new comers that come in with 3 post or less and start posting links. Im afraid I have no choice but to view this as a form of spam. Our system automatically places first time posters who post a link into moderation. On a daily basis we get over 5 posts I need to delete due to this. They usually consist of black box vendors and at times brokers. So spam link removals is a tricky procedure... hence the reason why the appeal button is there for members to submit. However, in the case of Richard I have no option but to remove the link because: 1. rather new comer with no post count 2. direct link to this firm. I'm afraid this can only be viewed as solicitation which I must prevent from the start in order to avoid future abuse from others. Thanks.

Posted todays Kospi trade here: http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/126/trading-kospi-200-index-futures-3959-7.html#post64955 Probably the only one for the day. Kospi has been rather choppy and making sure I dont get caught up in the whipsaws.

Thought I would share a chart from today's trade. Kospi has been rather choppy the past few sessions and the key to this current situation is pure discipline and waiting for prime setups. Took me almost 180 minutes today before doing my first trade. It does appear that this may be my only trade today as well. Booked a bit early but I am not scaling out of exits yet so I would rate this trade a B+. Yesterday, 180.00 was monster support, with price in a tight bracket between 180.80 to 180.00. Please see attached chart. At the hard right edge.... I am thinking of a further continuation upwards until the second wave of distribution comes in... perhaps around the 181.20 level.

Hi Db. Could you please reference members who are posting links?

Actually I was fascinated with the works of the financial markets.... big operators, brokers, insider trading, the fat trader who worked for Gekko, the amount of commissions brokers rake, etc... Second was Boiler Room.. pretty much had me convinced I wanted to learn this industry. T

Hi Phil, Welcome to TL. As per your request the attachment count limit has been changed to 30 per post. I hope this is enough. See you around the boards

Yes that is absolutely true. Some fail to realize that internet connectivity as well as your PC specs can delay datafeed. My office PC runs a dual core and yet I still run into data delay issues when the markets take off. On my home pc running a quad core, I do not see this issue at all. Fortunately in Japan, many are now connected by fiber optics so our internet speed is lighting fast. Those trading next to the CME are going to have a latency edge compared to traders from abroad accessing CME as well.
-
The "hosted gateway" model is perhaps ideal in regards to latency for an active trader. The servers are held directly at the exchange so an order would go like this: Trader > Exchange Server (with your FCM/broker tag on it) On the other hand, a decrease in latency would most likely follow this route: Trader > FCM (or broker) > Exchange So basically the first model skips the order from going to your broker first eliminating the extra step. Ask your broker if the servers are held directly on the exchange or not.

So the long awaited Wall Street sequel is finally on the move. Article here. One of the few movies that inspired my interest in the financial markets...

Hello gang, Been lurking this thread for some time. Managed to open an individual account in Korea for the KOSPI contract and would like to start posting some trade logs here. Ive also started my own trade blog but remains private for now. Please note that my account and PNL are all based in Korean won. Todays trading: Poor position management but yet still managed to do okay. PNL: +24 ticks per lot.

Article here. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think viewers would pay for a content based website?

I found this post on "Re: Trader P/L 2009" interesting and have nominated it accordingly for "Topic Of The Month May, 2009"
