Hi Guys, I dont have tradestation so i cant get in to see the code. Could somebody send me the code so I can take a look. Many Thanks, Jay.
-
Good post mate. I've been wanting to do this since reading Jpearls threads. I am however using ninja trader, so (if you dont mind) Im going to try and convert your code to ninja script. I dont think there are too many ninja users out there - everybody seems to use esignal or tradestation! Cheers, Jay.

Time Tested Classic Trading Rules
JayRemy replied to Linda Bradford Raschke's topic in Trading Articles
i like that alot - i've printed it out and its on my wall -
I made a mistake in my previous post. I phoned my bank and the payment which i thought was cisco was actually a different payment. I tried emailing to his cisco address and the hotmail on, i'm a bit surprised i havent had any reply, I would of thought a quick email back to me would be there. But I guess if i cant correspond with them for whatever reason theres not much i can do !

lol - i didnt even notice the edit in the message. Yah, I'm afraid I am still having this problem. I tried calling today but I think there is a problem with our phones not dialling out the country (i'm in uk!). I've tried using different email accounts and pretty sure theres no problem at my end. What a wonderfull world of technology we live in !!! I'm not having a good time this week - last night I made a mistake placing a forex trade and placed my stop alot lower than i wanted and now i havent got enough margin in my account for a single ym contract. sometimes i just wanna smash my pc up!!!! happy days

Hey Guys, I'm starting to get quite anxious about all this. The money for the first month left my account a week ago and I still havent heard anything from him. If your in contact with him I would very much appreciate it if someone could pass my name on to him and mention I havent heard anything. I'm assuming there must be some communication problem because I know he has a very good reputation but you cant help but fear the worst. by the way, if you could pass on a message my details are: Jason Belletty jason@belletty.net jason@first-software.co.uk Cheers for your help. Jay. Jay, hey have you tried calling him or emailing him? Let me know man.
-
thanks guys, i'll prolly send him an email tomorrow and/or call him next week. thanks for the replies, i'm kinda watching my email waiting for his email. i'm like a kid at christmas right now waiting for the latest action toy !!!

Hey Reaver, I'm probably being a bit silly and overzealous but i signed up for that cisco course on wednesday and i havent recieved any emails from them, not even a confirmation of payment. What do you think?
-
You bet !! I've just signed up for the long course, I've pretty much read most of the free stuff on the site, so hopefully i'll be able to get started on that soon. Btw: his advice engine looks pretty interesting.
-
thanks guys - i appreciate the feedback ...learning to trade is certainly a fun journey
-
Hi Guys, I've seen alot of people talk about the cisco course on this forum and it seems to be pretty good. I've been thinking about taking it myself but with work commitments i dont get that much free time during market hours. Is this a course i can do out of hours or do you have to be doing it when market opens? cheers guys, jay
-
thanks for that torero. i'm going to walk with it for a while, see how it performs. although, i've got a scary max draw down figure. it's coming from a period of time right in the middle of chart and doesnt happen again but i'll sort out that problem before market open hopefully thanks for the advise, cheers Jay.
-
hey torero, thanks man :p how do you know if youve got a good system? silly question maybe! 'cos a good system makes money, right? I've done this little strategy on a 30 minute EURUSD, which over the past 2 years has a profit factor of 1.76, and so seems like it could make a stack of money. It looks pretty good to me, but i dont want to get too excited too soon, incase what i've done is just trash and wouldnt work in the real world. Theres some stuff which I'm unsure of, is there any kind of general rule for slippage? Infact, going through this process of trying to create a strategy and backtesting it has taught me alot about trading in general. I can clearly see money management i.e. stop losses, scaling out profits etc are so important it can turn a non-profitable trader to be profitable.

Hi Guys, I've been messing around with the tradestation easy language stuff these last few days, mostly strategies seeing what happens with different conditions and how profitiable certain systems are - it seems to be the quickest way to back test something! If anybody wanted to suggest some system, theory of a new indicator i'd be happy to code it up and produce some adhoc stuff to see what we come up with. Its really caught my interest at the moment and it would be great fun to produce something cool. Cheers guys, Jay.

yah - love this forum (dont quit any time soon james ) - happy new year guys and gals

thanks for those videos nick - are they from the live trading room from trade the markets.com. - i always wanted to know what it looked like in there :p are you a member at tradethemarkets.com. I always fancied joining up, but its a bit expensive without really knowing if its any good!
-
thanks nick, the brick indictaor looked a bit too much for me, but the squeeze and ttm trend look pretty cool. I never really thought about looking at the tradestation forums, so thanks for the tip :p Do people make money with these indicators? I've always thought indicators were a waste of time but these look ok! ah! that workspace looked interesting although i dont really know what the WPCVA or ESINK is Although, I trade the YM myself. cheers, jay.
-
wow - i like those indicators alot nicknextmove. i'm going to do some back testing and stuff with this.
-
that really is beautifull - bet that was a nice day

Happy christmas everyone, Thanks to this forum, and its members, especially those guys who hang around the chat room. Without this place my trading knowledge / education would be months behind. :p
