Hi hokshila and welcome to forum! I was going to say how great the charts are from buk and tex. I peruse once in a while and find how well those pivots work. I'm going to add those pivots in now. I see steve's channel matches mine, all on same page!
-
Uh, might want to resize that and make it a big smaller 640x480 recommended. If not, just screen capture the essentials. Good job!
-
Hi Steve, check out this post to make images viewable. http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f30/how-post-chart-properly-805.html?highlight=post+images

This down move since yesterday looks mean, might be changing of trends here? But I'm still getting some positive signals it of bullishness. If this channel can hold, I'll be looking for a long here.
-
Now I can ask questions: will it stop and reverse or will it take it lower? I'll wait for london open to hopefully get an answer then.
-
Yes, I did ok but I set the trailing stop a bit tighter than normal so I missed the rest of the leg. No biggie, live and learn. After waiting for the pullback which may turn out to be a one day reversal, I just went short here. I saw the long tail on 240min and didn't look very promising on the upside. I'll keep an eye on the 9750 line here. For now, I keep this target hit first and ask questions later.

That's the way to go, down to basics is all it takes. Good luck your renewed trading plan! Here's rooting for you!

those bucketshops are dying out now, if fxcm is changing, so will the rest. I use mbtrading to avoid these shops. efx and oanda are good also. except for major news and extremely low volume, almost all the big pairs have 1 pip spreads.

[Tape Reading Video: Big Guys vs Little Guys]

I was told by one the ex-floor trader that the locals are using electronic volume for cues to trade off more and more, seeing how they can manipulate the prices but then again with electronic volume increasing they have to start taking it more seriously, wouldn't you say? It's like looking at the mirror and trying to find out who's the real person making the movement and who's following. -

It might not be liquid just yet but considering the big boys trade these to hedge or locals trading them would be good indications where big money is moving, i would think. -
I know alot of forex traders from the US (mainly east coast) who trade all hours. One in particular who sets alarms on this charts and take the trade and go back to sleep. If you plan on taking short term trades, then you can try it out. Forex is really about breakouts anyway, so alarms will do just fine. Not everyday you'll get alarms imo. You can always try the pairs that are in your area, USDCAD or USDJPY for example. I live in Spain, I get up about 6:30am, 2 and a half hours before london opens to get the day ready so I don't have a problem with this.

there are plenty of demo accounts offered by many brokerages, "google demo account eminis or forex" should find plenty to choose from. more questions, just holler!
-
I'm watching closely of this breakout as it's making a major resistance it just past. Could be an interesting ride up or a quick way down if the rejection is valid (rising wedge).
-
I'm watching carefully at 9750 as possible support here. The first pullback from the breakout will be significant. This is a major breakout to a historical high, making history!
-
I got stopped out at 9840 but maybe there's more upside? Seems to be eager to go higher. I'll look for a re-entry on the next pullback.
-
Thanks. I actually missed setting my target exit (was moving my computer from living to office and it shot down) so I'm going to just let it trail from support at 9835 and see if it can take it from here.

I think since we're moving to high bandwidth and larger HD, I'm working on moving from recording my trades via charts to videos now. This is the best way to really understand fully what was really happening at that moment, with audio comments and thought process, charts and your actions (buy sell or do nothing) towards those charts. I just started and it's huge step in recording and improving myself as a trader. Fully recommend it. So, the blog I recommend should be clips of videos of the trades. I recommend editing them to save HD space (and save the boredom from others) and just see the setup, entry and exit, one trade one clip. Along the clip would include a small description including symbol, entry price, exit price and general description of the strategy used (breakout, range play, etc). This might be sensitive to others who are less willing to reveal all their trading secrets, but these are optionals. I plan to post mine soon but I have to work on my voice, I sound like I'm whispering to my lover in bed LOL. Well, ER2 is my other woman LOL.

I'm still short on EURGBP since last thursday I believe. A slow mover but this one will test my patience and I'm learning to be one.
-
Great way to scale out and exit, very timely, cowpip. Looked like smooth sailing to me, in just before taking off and out just before consolidating. I'm still long, seeing this triangle comforts me. Target for this triangle is 9845. Let's see if it can make it there and then some.

Great! Would like to your input on that to see and understand the difference. Electronic volume is increasing more and more so it would be interesting to see how big influence the pit still carries. -

I think you have to subscribe to that one which I don't, $50 per month for it. It would be a better reading coming directly from the pit. They just introduced the BIG dow ($25 per point), should be even a better gauge of big money. Wonder how that works out. I don't trade YM so it's not for me. -
I went long late yesterday when the prices popped above 9780. It seems to be doing one of the churning-the-bears-slowly movements. I'll see how this one plays out.
-
Excellent yet simple strategy, sniper! I see how you apply the time cycle. Very nice indeed!
-
Hi Sniper, thanks for sharing your cycle finder. I'll try it out. You can find a free screen capture tool here: http://www.faststone.org/DN/FSCaptureSetup52.exe I use this one, easy, simple like you! LOL.

I'm not saying they are the same, but many times (days) they coincide or close to it, it's repeated over and over again. Regarding your other question about fibs, sniper has mentioned they are guides and nothing more, they are not sure fire spots for entries. I place the levels on my charts, they don't mean anything until prices react to them, favorably or unfavorably. Like anything else, nothing is pure science so nothing works 100%. We all get faked out and stopped out even when we think it looks like a rejection, it turns and heads in the same direction and pierces the levels. It happens, but like I said, when there are more than 2 calculations coincide (be it VOP of MP with Pivot and/or Fib), chances are higher prices will react to them.
