  1. Soul, I noticed you had a drawing tool in some of your videos (similar tool hubert and JC have in theirs). What tools are they you're using? I'm looking around as well but can't seem to find it. Let me know. Thanks.
  2. I think there is never level playing in every market you trade in, i.e. the locals will almost always be one step ahead of you, the market makers will always be one step ahead of you. Given, that forex is the same way. Volume is important but somehow I've managed to stay profitable without volume. One change or adaptation I've made from futures to forex is I scrutinize price action more, be more picky with S/R areas and relied on Fibs, Pivots more to really make sure the setup is overwhelmingly in my favor. Basically I made sure the breakout is TRULY confirmed before making that entry and stay away from ranges, trend-following specifically. All this without volume, a miracle in some ways. The other observation I've made is that my R/R ratio is high 3:1 minimum or I don't trade. Surprisingly this is what has made the equity curve climb. I've managed to get many 3:1 wins when it was a winning trade.

I'm going to go back and learn this 78.6% levels from tex. I've been researching failures and seems 78.6 are good spots to watch them. Interesting, I always thought support was between 61.8 and 50% and not further. Anything beyond that was reversal levels.

I real aim for this trade was to shoot for 2.0000 LOL!!! No, I had target at 9770, but I'm going to give it room to shuffle a little but despite the resistance here. I'm seeing it being pushed repeatedly, telling me this might break, so I'll let it go and see what happens.

Might be time to exit here? Big resistance ahead and price seem to be rejected here. Gonna set my stop to breakeven and see how this baby takes this resistance. If not, the trade wasn't meant to be.

I'm getting indigestion just waiting for other folks to digest the news. I'm ready to go LOL. I'll practice patience and hold this until prices tell me it's time to get impatient.

No idea but I'm just going to trade until the news come out. I'm watching this one carefully here. It's been bouncing off 237.70 area a few times already, if it breaks above the triangle and confirm it, no bear will be around for the party??

I went long on this consolidation since last night. I see this consolidation as continuation. I know there is news coming but we'll see how it goes. Target is 9695.
  12. It's possible the slippage will be bigger in big Dow due to lack of volume. Have you verify if there is slippage bigger than in smaller Dow, just a thought.
  13. I see what you mean. Not sure who allows this. I'm not sure since I've never used this tactic before.
  14. Can I ask why anyone would do this? Staying flat has the same effect, except saves you commission costs.

Yes, my problem is getting to read them. I'm pretty bad with keeping with news events. This is why I asked soultrader to include an alert sent so I can keep up.

I completely missed this one, can someone tell me if this is due to the PMI? Wow, I had expected Fed but not this.

that chart I posted with my exit, looks like price are obeying this channel. I'm going to keep an eye on that one.

Yeah, was trading Russell emini this morning, things are very wacky, no rules are obeyed here. So I'll certainly wait until the dust settled after the news.

Steve, you're right. I have considered this possibility but I have to take them as they come, breakout days are so far have been my salvation to keep the account on positive side, so I cannot tell myself to sit out if it's over the average range. The only reason I'm considering exiting is the Fed announcement later today. I wasn't aware of it but with that closing in, I might be exposing myself to unwanted volatility. I'll see how NY treats this early leg down.

Did anyone notice this parallel play? GBPJPY broke below day's support first, went back to resistance then head down while GBPUSD was still above day's support. Anyone use different pairs for cues to an eventual entry in another?

Yes, I see the hammer too. I'm watching this consolidation closely to see how this rally is going. So far so good, I see a bear flag/triangle building. This might be my bias for now, but anything can change.

    Using Neural Nets

Hi mr-T, welcome to the forum. I've used a few products in the past to build systems and to integrate and optimize my strategies in TS. I didn't have any luck with it due to my limited ability to understand how to use (requires good amount of time to understand despite vendors telling you how easy it is, it's easy if you want to lose money). I've used Genetic Optimizers to backtests but in the end, some had success, I didn't find much better results. Lack of knowledge is my only limitation. It has potential but always keep healthy skeptical and test out everything first.
