Really? What holiday was it over there? No wonder the price movement was deader than normal.

    Busy Day Tomorrow

You would think London would have a field day with the yanks´shops closed up today like other times. Glad I took the day off.
  3. I've never used the service but was about to download when I realized it's a subscription service. So I have no comment on it. In general, immediate release of news with their numbers might be useful for forex traders since the numbers have some influence on which way the market might move or not even move. I think there is a slight difference between trading news on stocks/futures vs forex. Currencies seem to move in the original direction of its break on the news more often than stocks or futures (my observation only so don't use that against me). The news might be a surprise or not that may affect the currencies. I, for one, once in a while trade news but only after the dust has settled.

We're still missing Buk, it's been a while since he's lounged this area. It's about time the dang pairs are moving. Been twirling my hair in knots waiting for something to move.
  5. In case anyone is interested: http://www.tradethenews.com/download.asp Pretty cool stuff.
  6. I haven't been in TL's chatroom in a while, I may just drop in this week and see how the buzz is buzzing.

    Busy Day Tomorrow

Hi Jocelyn, nice to have you join our thread. Looks like today was another range day. These seem to waiting for happen first before anyone wants to kick in. I'll wait on the side lines in the meantime. You by any chance the sis of Anna-Maria?
  8. I agree, the leverage is higher (larger positions) for a short term gain requires nerves of steel because you have to decide before hand where you want to get it or out but lots lose their concentration or focus and just lose their plan where to exit and enter. Too much money is at stake in a short amount of time. I've done both and it's a whole world of difference. The pace of the moves intraday will make you sweat and sense of time is incredibly sped up. What is a few minutes seems like eternity. Try it, you'll see.
  9. Blogs are a good way to keeping trading journals, but it takes dedication and honesty and guts for others to see your results and weaknesses as opposed to private journals. In the end it makes a difference because you grow as a trader and of course we notice why most traders come and go. I had my time at this so it was a useful tool. I still do it sometimes but due to involving trading OPM, it's now private. But definitely recommend it.
  10. Wow! This is usually a newbie habit, trying to save what's already lost to save face or pride. Try that and the market will make you even more foolish then you already are. Better to be solvent fool than a dumb, insolvent fool.
  11. A blog would be good because you can control your train of thoughts without outside distractions (if you want to delete the posts from yourself or others, etc).
  12. I admire you sledge for keeping up with the London hours to trade. I had to stop trading US markets, the hours were just keeping me off my personal life. FX now is better suited for my schedule. Everyone is welcome and we don't expect anything from anyone, clean slate. I believe that most who come here from Elite pretty much changed their way of exchanging ideas here, all better for it. Trading is tough enough, no need to create more pressure and stress amongst ourselves, do we?

It's part of testing the market. So losses like these tell something. I don't worry about it as these are small losses. As long as I don't get angry or complacent about it, I'm ok. When the test finally proves to be right, I'll move more in. Have a good weekend, hopefully next week will be better.
  14. This is actually great to see. This forum used to hogged by US-based members so they don't come around until US markets starts. Now with Europe-based members, it gets less boring in the AM. Cool. Welcome aboard.

    Busy Day Tomorrow

Yeah, I got stopped out on the short trade yesterday. Wasn't surprised considering been taking small losses all week this week. I admit I don't do range plays well. Tough to move range to trend to range mentality, seems it's too late when the mind is set to trade it, market changes its face.:bang head: Ah, the labor of market love...
  16. I recently had a friend who's moved back with her husband back to Japan from London. Was told you pay weekly rent, not monthly because it's so damn expensive. Anyway, hope you're having fun James.
  17. I'm a trend trader and this week hasn't been spectacular. I'm been snipering in with small positions but they don't pan out so I'm waiting for these small positions to grow into big positions to let me know the trend is back. Bored this week is best I can describe it.
  18. If I'm in a trade and the pending news is coming up, I usually time it to exit wherever it may stand. I have no hard rule on how much time up until the schedule news release. That part would depend on the price action, how much size I have and of course, how much or win/loss I'm incurring.
  19. I'm familiar with Socrates and his posts when I trolled the T2W a few years back. I'll make sure this will not happen at TL. No one has any right to be condescending and arrogant by belittling (including insulting) others in any way. We're all here to learn and not compare size. Please be aware that there is a report button that can be hit at anytime by any member who believe someone or some post has violated the TL rules. All moderators will immediately review the post, if it does violate the rules, it will be deleted and the member will be banned. I usually give the benefit of the doubt but repeat offenders will not be warned.
  20. :haha: Good one! It's nice to have a lively discussion. I feel the same about trading to finance my freedom. I used to study a lot but it doesn't require so much anymore but you still need to sit in front of the screen to make sure you're there at the right (if you're already at the right place... in front of your computer, pda, etc). All the GBP and JPY pairs have been very whippy this week. I'm bleeding slowly here but healthy bleeding I believe.

Takes every kind of people to make the market go 'round, doesn't it? At this point it could go either way though.

I went short this AM on this one. Oh well. I have to stick to my guns and with my analysis. Could be a dud though.
  23. Wow, you guys come in droves eh? Welcome all. We hope to stay true and keep the board as clean as possible, just trading and nothing more.
  24. Wow! Big gun amongst us! Welcome indeed. We hope to learn more from you I hope. Most of us are either new or trade small compared to what you trade so I'm sure as we grow, we'll be looking forward to your insight, especially on how patient you are holding such a big position despite a few crises we've had recently. How did you handle the Jan. news when BSC dove mercilessly? I'm sure most of us were just glad sitting out of that one.
