Thanks Foale. Not madness to go long after todays fall - I think there is room to go to 415. I will not be taking the trade, too short term for my new strategy. Good trading.

I'd like to say I made money on this trade but I was stopped out at 11623. Right sentiment wrong entry... Still I did get back in on the short side and out at 440 but didn't post it at the time so no good for this thread. I am now neutral.

It's going to take a while to catch up on the posts, but I think the crunch is more of a chew now. We will still be reading about it in the press for a while though.

I'm back .... Just gone short dow futures 11581 looking to close at 11440 ish. Life seems to have got in the way of trading for me recently. I'm gonna take it slow and go for the 300 point 3-5 day swings (remember those FW!).

Survived that by the skin of my teeth 814 low (so far). I expect big rises next week. After a 1200 point fall, gotta go back to 12400 ...

FTSE indicated at 90 points off its high at 1:30pm. That's a 1.5% drop so the dow is having an effect. I've gone long on the dow cash at 195 limit 245

I know this is not a trade - but it relates to a trade I lost money on and so its important to me . I thought the ftse and dow were closely linked so does the current divergance surprise anyone else?

Unfortunately it was the dow - out for -49 my stop was below the close :crap:

Just to add - people aren't hedging against the news - the ftse is at the days high 25 mins before housing AND ppi - they just dont care what the news is...

Don't understand all this short talk. Dow futures almost static for the last 2 hours - there's massive buying demmand waiting on the sidelines after the noise (sorry 'news'). Opened a small long on the dow fut at 326 and a limit long at 303. Limit to close 400.
