  1. Yes a very good post indeed! From a philosophical point of view chaos is existence, therefore impacting on everything. Can it be used as a strategy, I think not.
  2. Soultrader, Sorry for the late response here but I have thought about your response and it answers my question previously. Dr.
  3. This is an interresting thread. One that needs a lot of personal reflection to fully get the most out of. What is your view of a market and how does chaos fit into it? The butterfly effect - one small cap could bring everything down, even if temporary. Bifurcations. Beyond me there.
  4. I just dicovered I haven't introduced myself. I will shortly trade forex so will try to boost that part of the forum with my losses:o I look forward to talking with you all. Great forum James!

Are there any time travellers out there using Fibonacci trader software for forex? If so what are your feelings on it and its ease of use? Fibonacci Trader RT Order
  6. Price combined with an indicator can allow the price to be the indicator if one wants to be creative.
  7. Thankyou guys for your responses.
  8. To the very experienced currency traders here what are the most important news events that MUST be taken notice of? Please feel free to elaborate and opine as much as you like. Dr.

texxas, Thanks for your response to my post. I understand what you are saying whith the various currencies. You trade spot so what do you think of using volume or not using volume in your analysis? Basically spot volume is not too reliable so what do you guys think of using it? Regards The Doctor.
  10. I really liked this book. It helped me understand some important risk perspectives. Most pertinent would be the ability to risk on a win not a loss. Most hold and risk on a loss - human nature. But this book helps with the issue of risking for a win and increasing that risk when it is winning. Picking an objective profit target and risking to get that as opposed to being scared to risk because of the inability to take on risk mentally. It is one of my favourite books.
  11. A very good book indeed. I most liked the last section that dealt with one's health and it even gives a list of foods not to eat. The summary of Market Profile is helpful and particularly the section on multiple timeframe analysis before taking on trades. The rest of the book gives some tools to use for trading various instruments with plenty of charts to explain the methods. The author writes in an entertaining style. Good work Mr Carter.
  12. Hi James, I don't post much but sometimes only browse the very good content. A personal blog section would be good, but not necessary. Keep up the good work. The Doctor. Ps: I agree with texxas's comments regarding being easy on the eyes.

This is the best post I have read on forums regarding starting out in trading. Knowing it from a stock trading perspective starting out in currecy trading is a little intimidating and more complicated at first. Reading the above keeps the ideology simple to the point of not neglecting the true factors that make or break traders: Risk management, psychology. The analogy is something to be framed which is why I highlighted it in red. The Doctor.

Buk, Do you trade spot or currency futures?

Buk, Good post. Do you find this to be the case with all the major currencies and other minor currency pairs? And what pairs do you normally trade and why? I am curious as to how others approach choosing what pairs to trade and their reasons for doing so. Regards The Doctor.

Well it has been a pleasure reading this thread Buk. If you don't mind I may ask you some questions in the future. The Doctor.
  18. Isn't a divergence simple? Isn't anything you use an indicator? Maybe not a traditional indicator.
  19. I agree, but how can that be done without using a MP chart?
  20. James, What else do you look at at these points? Divergence of MACD for example?
  21. Too true. Though I am only interested in the concept and how I can evolve it into my trading without the actual MP charts - more like just understanding it.
  22. For me of course "Office space". "Platoon"
  23. Soultrader, As soon as I red about MP I thought I could feel it in price by using simple bar charts. Regards The Doctor.
  24. Does anyone use MP by mentally feeling it in bar charting?
