Try Independant Brokers in Chicago. They are just about the cheapest for futures contracts,which I trade. Only 1 to 2 dollars a contract each way. -
I like and have used for the last 5 years 'Ensign' charting software. It is a good charting package and only around 40$ a month. It is compatible with many data feeds.You can also get a free trial with it.

'New Frontiers in Fibonacci Trading' by Michael jardine is a very good book. Well worth reading it should help. It did for me. -
Don't Spread bet. you are better to trade the index futures market. With spreadbetting you are trading at broker prices, which make it virtually impossible to make a consistant profit. With futures trading you are trading in the market at true market prices. A good chap to read on trading is Michael jardine you can see him at Enthios.com. There is some good free tuff on there.
