I am not sure what you meant by "comment when a person is in pain" but if it was a sarcastic remark I doubt that you are right. I believe that most of us here would sniff out such people and soon enough they would be gone from this thread. Just to clarify. My trades today were not real. Not even paper. They were an excersize in following the rules. Within the next few days, I will enter some trades in my real account. BTW all the trades that I have posted that have triangles and squares in them were with real $. Not alot but real nevertheless. Bottom line - it's good that you are still here. Gabe

You are probably right. Why don't you come back and give it a try for another 2-3 weeks. Thales said in two of his posts to me that I am really close only to lose 1/3 of my account. I am sure I am close and these are just minor setbacks. We have a great family here (and just like in any family we have disagreements and friction) but I'd rather be in my family which I know and most of the time I feel good there, than somewhere else alone. There is no IDENTICAL in trading (at least i don't think so) but SIMILAR there is. Maybe I should have used the word SIMILAR instead. When we look at patterns there has to be some wiggle room in pattern recognition. Look up FUZZY LOGIC as opposed to CRISP/BINARY logic for a clearer explanation. Trading requires FUZZY logic. Gabe

We had a chat online with the above mentioned person. This time I was looking at one of his charts and he was explaining to me (again) what he was doing. The difference was that this time some things clicked. The interaction in realtime with the ability to ask and respond immediately made the difference. What I realized was that J (we'll call him J) did in his head some background proccessing that he never mentioned when he tried to explaing things to me in the past. It was those things that to him were trivial and he skipped during our chats without the charts that made the difference. Gabe

A setup can mean not just the immediate chart formation but things outside of the timeframe of the trading chart or it could be another instrument. Gabe

I like to see some losing trades and i am looking for losing setups just so that my eyes are trained to see the condition that is there when i enter into a trade that is a losing one. If the setup looks identical to the winning trade setup then I understand that the loss was not due to a bad setup but because of the statistical nature of this business. Gabe

Employing the meteorologist sounds like a good idea but here in Toronto where I live sometimes they call for a snow storm of 6 inches or more and nothing happens. Gabe
