  1. Ninja counts trades by the number of exits/fills not entries. Gabe
  2. This is off topic but does anyone know of a timer for Ninjatrader that will sound an alarm 10 seconds before the end of the current bar? Thanks Gabe
  3. BF, if I would have your results people would need an appointment to get an appointment with me. Congratulations. BTW, would you know on average how many trades you had per day? Gabe
  4. Looks like there was an early leak. Gabe
  5. If I understand how IB forex works, all trades are converted to the denominator currency, so if you have a profit and your account native currency is USD you have to convert your profit (JPY from trading EUR/JPY) back to USD on IDEAL so now you are paying a 3rd commision. Is that correct? The commisions account for about 1 pip round trip and the spreads of IB are smaller but when you add the commision on the final conversion - which would add about a pip to the deal - the fees paid by an IB customer approach the amount paid at the bucket shops with their wider spread but with less flexibility to trade smaller amounts like at Oanda. Gabe
  6. How about the liquidity of the currency futures during Non RTH of the US market? Doesn't forex have an advantage? Gabe
  7. How would you compare ZS to ZC? Thanks Gabe
  8. Now thtaa you put it that way, yes, calmer waters/smaller candles are prefereable to me but Thales might give you a better explanation. My gut tells me that your entry would not have been appropriate for me. Gabe
  9. No, because the move down was already in progress and the H's and L's were in a widening shape so it would be dicey to enter. Gabe
  10. I cannot post charts right now but EJ looks like a short if it breaks below 129.90 or a long above 130.15. Gabe
  11. Puting it another way, one trade out of the wining ones or about 8% accounted for a 50% increase in the average profitability of all the winners combined. Gabe
  12. Yes we are doing better. Thanks again to you and everyone else for your support. Gabe
  13. So if you take off the largest trade you will have 11 trades that made ~135 pips, or an average of 12.3 pips. I thik that the logical conclusion is that one has to take ALL trades because we will never know which trade will contribute the most to our bottm line. Gabe
  14. I like your charts. They look happy. Gabe
  15. My spelling is not the best today. We had a death in the family yesterday and everything is upside down. Trying to get distracted from one reality using another one. Gabe
  16. So there is no slight offset between the long a dn the short-stop or the short and the long-stop. I cannot do that in Oanda because one will cancell the other. Thanks Gabe
  17. It looke like you have put on a BRACKET trade. when you do somethinig like that, do you put the entry of the short below the STp of the long and the entry of the long above the STP of the short by a few pips or it is a STOP and REVERSE where size of the orders cancel the previous trade which means you have to decide wht will trigger first. Thanks Gabe
  18. BTW it is H-L-LH and L-H-HL. (like a mirror image) Gabe
  19. Why don't you set up some audiable alarms to let you know that a level has been reached? Gabe
  20. Hi Don Thank you. This is very clear now. Gabe
  21. Just finished the Long and Short versions. 15min and 1H. If anyone finds an error, please let me know. Gabe
  22. There must be some OPTIONS or SETUP page where you can do that. Thanks again Gabe
  23. This is my 1st attempt at automating the SHORT end of things (H-L-LH) in a backtest mode. Gabe
