  1. I understand what you wrote Thales but the following seems to be a contradiction. If the entry is AT PRIOR S/R but IT DOES NOT COINCIDE WITH A PRIOR S/R ZONE, is that a contradiction? How can entry be at S/R but not COINCIDE with it? I have a problem with the English form while I understand the concept you illustrated. Gabe
  2. The above two seem to contradict each ther...... Gabe
  3. For the record, I entered this trade 7 minutes before Thales posted his charts about shorting the GU. So I am NOT a shadow trader 297 pips. A 1st for me. Gabe Me Happy Happy Happy
  4. What is the time equivalent for the 89/512 tick charts? Thanks Gabe
  5. I would have chosen the same targets but I don't know about the entry. Gabe
  6. EJ -39 GU +76 Net +37 The HEAT was emotional. On the EJ the best I could do was get out at break even (there were 4 opportunities to do so after my exit at a loss. On the GU trade, it never hit my 2nd target but in hindsight, I could squeez a few more pips out of the trade. Had i stuck to the stop loss rules based on the most recent swing point - which was not hit yet - I would still be in the trade with 2/3 of my position. The problem would have been that 3 and 1/4 hours after my exit and almost 5 hours after my entry the trade is not getting closer to my 2nd profit target but getting away from it, so my thinking is that if my profit target was not hit in such a long period - it will not. One can argue that if my SL was not hit after such a long time that IT is a valid SL which was placed well. Gabe
  7. I took it because I missed the 1st one. As it stands now I left about 50 pips on the table because I chichened out Gabe
  8. New trade on GU. So far so good. 1st target hit (+34 pips). Moved my stop to BE +4 pips and entered a Limit Close on 1/3 at half the distance between the low anf the entry point. Gabe Couldn't take the heat and Futures started to move up. Closed the other 2/3 for 21 pips gain (total in this trade 76 pips) Gabe Do I feel crappy now
  9. It Ain't Over, Till it's Over. It does not look good.. Did I do something wrong? Was the Supportline the entry point was at, the problem? It could still work out in my favour but i am not so confident. Gabe Had enough. Took a hit.
  10. Potential short trade in EJ Nov-09-2009 Gabe Trade triggered
  11. I would like to suggest that we use a common system of annotating charts. SOLID RED would indicate a short. Dashed RED = Stop Loss (SL) for a short entry SOLID GREEN would indicate LONG Dashed GREEN = Stop Loss (SL) for a long entry BLUE = Profit Target If some one has some other suggestions, please put them forward. Gabe
  12. Just thought that it would be easier if the annotation would be on the chart. I hope you don't mind. BTW Shouldn't #2 be SHORT trades and #3 LONG trades? Gabe
  13. As it happens, I posted chart about 2 minutes before it turned around and zoomed up about 100 pips. So I could have made 20-30 pips on the way down but it just did not feel right. It was not a thought or an opinion. It was a feeling and I think that feelings should be used in trading. Better safe than sorry. Gabe
  14. Nice short signal on GC. Got in twice but did not trust it because the futures were moving up. THis where what Thales wrote should be adhered to. ie Trade what you see, not what you think. Gabe
  15. The difference is that there is more "separation" between the highs and the lows in Thales's chart. I think that this "separation" issue is subjective and cannot be numerically quantified. Only by experience which comes from screen time. Gabe
  16. Thanks for the answer. As I said in my post, It would help if people would post failed as well as siccessful trades for the learning experience. Gabe
  17. Who is Seiden and what is his criteria? Thanks Gabe
  18. Just had an idea about the above. If one looks at a pair that behaves largely like the EJ - GJ in this case - one can see a divergence between the two. Maybe that would alert the trader that things are not as they seem to be. Gabe
  19. We rarely see setups that failed. I would like to post during the next several days, setups that would have failed had one taken the trades. Please comment as to why a setup failed and whether it was a valid setup in the first place. Thanks Gabe PS Red is a potential short and green a potential long.
  20. For anyone who is saving Thales' charts, here is the one with the correct annotation. Gabe
  21. I wonder whether or not to sue MidKnight for his chart related trade mark violation..... Gabe
  22. Actualy I am using a 20EMA on my futures trade but. I'll see what I can do about the forex trade EMAs. If you would have seen my charts 3 months ago you'll realize that 3 ema's is trading naked for me. Thanks for the note anyway. Gabe
