  1. I noticed a great setup in the 10 year but did not take it, this was an ES short in the late morning.
  2. Yeah, I have traded oil I will look at soybeans next week and maybe trade on very light size. FWIW my father and I view all markets from opposite ends of the spectrum. I did not mean because he said that it was right........he traded in the late 1970's early 80's
  3. No trading for me for last week and the rest of the week, in case anybody was wondering. You guys are quite impressive with commodities. I lightly trade Oil and in the past some currencies, but I always felt these markets had geo-political and fundamental reasons as to why they moved (my father was a professional trader and taught me this) but you guys prove otherwise everyday.
  4. Not so little anymore considering where it started. Congratulations to you for being a great teacher and your daughter for being a great trader/future 18 year old hedge fund manager and student.
  5. For the remaining 1 and 1/2 months of the year I am going to trade light size compared to what I normally trade (I do not want a loss to take away from a great year). Please don't misunderstand me, I have full confidence in my method and setups and if my bread and butter setup happens in the S&P I will go in with very large size but I am only doing this with one of my setups. I already have my New Years resolution: trade minimum of 200 days, this year my trading was sporadic at best. I am also going to trade options and some equity-but I will not let these take away from my main trading vehicle: Index futures, primarily es. I hope this helps some of you who read this thread understand how important it is to protect your capital. I have heard that without it you can not trade. Chris
  6. Hi, I just use Ninja Trader and you can use it for free

  7. traded the open, I rarely do. but was afraid it might be the only action today
  8. smaller size than normal +1,400
  9. Thanks, you should be happy about your ZS trade, enjoy it!
  10. Well, a new record for me, this was great, happy all around.
  11. For those of you who do not have your broker on speed dial, do this. Also, use a land line.
  12. Is that the commercial with the guys at a gym? Very funny. But what else are you going to do when you cannot sleep but risk large sums of highly leveraged money?......count sheep? Chris :o Thales, I have migraines too, this was the reason I could not sleep actually, but my meds kicked in. Hope you feel better.
  13. As I type this I am shaking, I entered into a large CL position and my computer freezes, my cell phone is also dead, after I reboot I find out I am out with a healthy profit. Thank God This P&L is the Dax + CL, now I am focusing on ES for the rest of the day. BF, Well done trading treasuries, commodities, currencies, and the indexes successfully
  14. Unable to sleep so I traded the DAX, I will be watching CL along with ES today, this is only the DAX so far.
  15. back on track today, although trade lasted longer than I like.
  16. Regarding trading for smaller tick sizes with a smaller account eventually you will lose, if you are unable to correctly read pa and get close out with a loss (very hard to do with real cash, every tick in your direction you hope and hope should never enter into trading). When I started my target was 3 points, when I got to 2 my stop moved to +1, one of the main reasons I take quick profits is because I hold on average 500+ contracts the fear level is pretty crazy along with everything else like keeping orders out of the queue and other considerations that go with this. Anyhow I would look for setups that yield more points/ticks.
  17. Got completely faked out today -9000
  18. I do not have a set amount I trade each time. Depends on how risky the trade seems to me. Most of my trades are between 50 and a few hundred.
  19. I was down -12,000 today. I was not going to trade today but in the end and on a day where the es was possibly the easiest it has been to trade in a while, I over-analyzed and looked counter-trend.:crap:
  20. I am profitable 91% of the time, right now on the year I am at roughly 20%
  21. I am starting to feel under the weather again, I guess I will load up on Vitamin C. As for trading, was almost a standstill when I was in mkt. We will see if I can post the png on the thread EDIT: Thanks BF, I always wanted to do that.
  22. Thanks deadalus, obsession and dedication (as I am sure we all have) is what got me where I am now. I started as an investor while in college about 10 years ago with absolutely no clue as to why I bought stock and I remember reading a book called Dow 30,000 and took this book very seriously
  23. Thank you, I wish my setep looked as good as your smileys setup, I use two monitors only, and most of the time the second is on the internet, I could easily trade with one.
  24. The good, new record. The bad, gross loss.........same as last time I had a huge day. My problem with these trades where I have an overall winner but a large gross loss is I get shaken and bail early. Usually my analysis is spot on. I need to work on this. I cannot post the .png image directly to my post, what is explained in the link provided by BF does not work for me I have no clue why. Also, I took 1 trade today, not 257
  25. you are in the p/l thread........not the fuzzy analysis thread
