Possibly, but what if orders of 1000 are placed at 900, 900.25, 900.50, 900.75 - if price never reaches these levels the 4000 contracts are not traded. Some traders will trade only if the price they want is filled, others will trade when they see a swift move which can happen on low or high volume. I do not think one leads the other, I think depending on the market participant (1 trader w/ 20,000 lots or 20,000 with one) 1 will lead. Some systems may take volume and time into consideration, others, price of cash vs. futures, others may use volume and price. I am trying to say I think it depends on the person or system.

I was wondering if those of you who trade options on futures could give me input on the following trade. I am considering selling calls on SPY. I feel (as I am sure many here do) there will be another move down. I am aware the unlimited upside risk, perhaps I would wait until the last week the July opt. trade. The last options trade I did was on a tip from my father who is a retired professional options trader.

I use VSA with S/R levels (not TradeGuiders) and I have to say it works out pretty well. I trade index futures. VSA is not my only strategy but when it has been working out well for me.

ES +1750 CL +200 It looks like it is a possibility to have oil line up inversly to the S&P again as it did last year. Could yield some nice opportunities.

I loaned my brother money which came out of my trading account, from the time when I began posting on this thread up until last week my acct size was about 3k and for me that was scared money, I was unable to scale into trades as usual and a loss crippled my account size. Two weeks ago my brother repaid the loan and I am back to how I have traded now for some time.

Usually a few minutes, though sometimes 20-30 minutes if I am waiting for a pullback.

Robert, I only place limit entries and I didn't get filled fully when price would trade my price but not through it, just a matter of fifo I guess. When the ES trades through they get filled instantly though. Same thing with exits.

The emotional component is very hard to deal with when one point can equal 5k or more. Something that helps is viewing trading like a business. Losses are part of trading; this is harder than it sounds though.

Not all trades were of the same size, they were all scale ins at different prices, usually 10 to 50. Not all my orders get filled though.

Tuesday June 9th. 1 trade late in day, short. +1750. Taking rest of week off, turning 30 Saturday, it may not sound old to you but it is kind of freaking me out. :shocked: I would like to move into trading stocks as well maybe in July. I have been looking at software for scanning and ran across Trade Ideas which looks good, and is very robust. By the way all of my P/L is before commissions. Chris
