Can I get some feedback from those using Market Delta? I am looking into it...
-
James, I have just gone through this process. I have read and educated myself about computers in the process. One thing to keep in mind is that many people will have their own opinions and ideas. I kept looking for the "right" setup, and there is not a 100% correct answer. Here is what I went with. I don't know how quickly you are able to get your new setup, but Dell in running a great deal on their Vostro model. You can upgrade it with as much juice as you want. It also comes with a video card upgrade option to the Nvidia GeForce 8600gts card which is a top of the line card, and you can run 2 monitors through dvi connections. The deal is $330 off through January 31st. http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=us&cs=04&kc=6W300&l=en&oc=brpc4gk&s=bsd Just an idea.

I am not currently with Open E Cry, but I will be moving over to them in the next few weeks. It is great they have charting, but my big hang up is that they dont offer MP. Due to this, I am going to have to get a charting package as if they did not have charting at all.

The Man Rules At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down Finally , the guys' side of the story. ( I must admit, it's pretty good.) We always hear " the rules " From the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note.. these are all numbered "1 " ON PURPOSE! 1. Men are NOT mind readers. 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it down. 1. Sunday sports It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let it be. 1. Crying is blackmail. 1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it! 1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question. 1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for. 1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days. 1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us. 1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one 1. You can either ask us to do something Or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself. 1. Whenever possible, Please say whatever you have to say during commercials.. 1. Christopher Columbus did NOT need directions and neither do we. 1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for example, is a fruit, not A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea what mauve is. 1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that. 1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle. 1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, Expect an answer you don't want to hear. 1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is fine... Really . 1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared to discuss such topics as baseball or golf. 1. You have enough clothes. 1. You have too many shoes. 1. I am in shape. Round IS a shape! 1. Thank you for reading this. Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; But did you know men really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Soultrader, thanks for the informative post and great video. It really helps a new MP'er to see the analysis done by someone using MP in their trading. A few quick questions: I am guessing that you mainly analyze the Nikkie and YM markets? Do you find strong correlation between the 2? Any specific reason the YM over the ES? Are you just looking for a few trades a day based on MP?
-
Thanks for that link. Very good thread on how someone uses MP in his own way!

here is the link to the monitor i am looking at: http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=373776&pCatg=5902 it is 21.6 inches and is at sam's club, so no shipping cost appreciate any other to consider...

I am looking into buying a trading computer. (feel free to give insight into that topic as well) I am wondering about computer monitors? I would like to go with 2 monitors, but dont really know much about shopping for monitors. Questions: 20 vs 22 inch resolution (can you get too much) contrast ratio Any insight?

I was reading about someone, who learned to trade in the evenings by replaying the trading day and mock trading through the playback. I am not super abreast of all the platforms out there and what they offer, so I thought I would ask for some advice on what platforms or software packages could do something like this? (I believe the person I read about used Ensign?)

I just got my copy of Mind Over Markets today in the mail today and will start reading in tonight. Any tips as I embark on learning the MP methods? (Do's and Dont's looking back on how you learned MP?)

I am shopping for a new computer to trade on. (I am about to start my paper trading)I have been following some deals that dell is running and looking elsewhere... question: -Is windows new vista operating system running all the trading apps. that one would need? I have heard mixed things on vista -What performance measures should I get at a minimum? (computer specs) -Anything else you would instruct when shopping for a new trading computer...

Could someone give me a good definition of what it means to use an "institutional" broker? Why does it benefit a trader to go this route? More perks? access?

great link smwinc...thanks for the read

From the experienced "pro" traders...lend some insight on this: What are the different types, or levels of being a pro trader? example: you have guys who trade successfully but only enough to really cover bills and living expenses, guys who are trading at a level that would be similar to running a small hedge fund, really making some solid returns and earning a good amount of money doing it, guys who make 500K+ (random number) who are at the top of their game and could be trading for large corporations or funds, but just choose to stay independent... These are just examples, but what I have found in researching trading as a full time occupation, is that nobody really like to discuss the successes and give real life examples. We all know that 95%+ of traders fail, but what can you accomplish if you are in that 5%? What does that look like?

I was reading about this "top 30 under 30" trader ( Traderdaily.com , Trader Magazine), and was wondering about some things.
