  1. Hello Tannis Glad to see you are still interested in trading I enter data from stockcharts daily into my spreadsheet. I have found that on occasion they correct previous data two days after, but when you are entering your data daily one just looks back and can see if it changes. Like the day before yesterday there was a big change in the breadth data. So you have to keep an eye on it. I like the spreadsheet better because you can chart the data together , just like Wyckoff suggests one on top of the other But naturally to each their own. erie
  2. I may mention that July 18th, 19th, 22, and 23rd of 2002 was 4 days of 80% down days in a row. And there were numerous back to back 80% days. Aug 02/02 and Aug 05/02 back to back down Oct 4th and 7th/02 back to back down Jan 24th and 27th /03 back to back down Oct 10 and 11th/02 were back to back up
  3. Ok. Down volume days were: July 02/02 Sept03/02 Mar 10/03 Mar 24/03 Up volume days were: July 05/02 July 29th/02 Jan 02/03 Mar 17th/03 erie
  4. I found an old spreadsheet from Aug2/2001 to 2004 with the breadth data on disk. So you just need the dates of the 90% days? Could you tell me the timeframe, I assume 2002 to 2003? erie
  5. Let me look and see if I have something saved on a disk. Right now I have from Aug28th/03 and on. ( wouldn't ya know it ) I do remember sending you a copy once of my spreadsheet, by chance would you still have it? erie
  6. I found this post on "The Selling Climax" interesting and have nominated it accordingly for "Topic Of The Month October, 2008"
  7. As you probably already know Db , I follow the 90% days on the NYSE , which coincides with Desmond's work. Those down days were Sept 29th, Oct 6th and Oct 9th , with the up day on the 13th. That is 90% as in both volume and issues together. erie
  8. Curious to see how things work out after they settle down.......... erie
  9. LOL .................... erie
  10. You are right that locals don't know about online trading. That is where fellow traders can help. Zdo , in a previous post gave you the answer to needed attributes in a computer: fast processor(s) MUCHO mucho Ram fast bus speed good video fast hard drive I would prefer custom built to buying over the counter, but that's my opinion. I have a Matrox G450 MMS Quad video card in mine with the original video card giving me 5 monitors on one computer.(no power issues) I bought the card separately on Ebay because my technician is not familiar with them. Other traders put me on to the card and the setup. There shouldn't be any problem with these cards. Your problems will arise mainly from the OS system which you need a technician's experience. If you have a hardware problem, you still need a technician. If someone local builds and maintains your computer for you, then you will have created a relationship. It will become apparent whether it is a good relationship or not very quickly. You should have a backup computer connected with a router so if you need to take in your main one you still are up and running. Proper tools are important. Your local technician will have also built up relationships with special people that can help you with Excel, programming etc. These people don't need trading experience if you know exactly what you want, for they can write just about anything. It is nice that you can just call a tech and they go in and fix your problem but i'm sure you are paying for it. Most problems i have had couldn't be fixed like that, the tower had to be taken in. hope this helps erie
  11. I guess you didn't like my suggestion.......too bad. Good luck to you. erie
  12. Zdo has nailed it.... you could consider getting someone local who services computers, to build it for you, preferably someone who has two or three technicians working for him and can service your computer in the future quickly ( same day fix and return ). Someone who has good business hours as well. They're around. Your other computer would be great for email, browsing , etc and then you will have only hardware problems with your trading computer, not software related. erie
  13. Forget about the summer months, your question was about finding proper s/r and i answered ,"if you were having problems you were missing something". That it is obvious to me , it is not apparent to you and you also have not obviously learned anything here. Soooo... I leave this with you to contemplate and good trading to you......... erie
  14. Yes. That sums it up. It is what you see that counts though.
  15. Ok , FW, thanks. Simply put I looked at it like this........look for "r" at zone of reversal and then take it from there. Does that help? erie
  16. Firewalker, Would you mark on this chart your trend, reversal , and retracement? I know it is after the fact , but i'm curious. Notice there is no after hour bars here. This may solve some of your question. erie
  17. Price has fallen out of it's range and has now come back up to it's midpoint. Needs to follow through for strength. Here is some charts.
  18. Soultrader, I notice how price has moved between your two lines , from 1263 to 1275 today. erie
  19. Then you want the program flexible so you can change the parameters and keep testing it until you are satisfied it either works or it is not acceptable. That way the programmer will not know exactly what you are doing , you are able to do the testing on your own.......Hope that helps some.......... erie
  20. Depends on what you are having programmed? If it is entry / exit strategies then you would want to be able to test them. Then again maybe you are programming something else................ erie
  21. If only one it would be : Profits in the Stock Market /with charts by H. M. Gartley erie
  22. I've tried to create an edge with quite a few of those approaches and had no success. Sure there was some edge but the frequency was poor. With S/R, frequency is greater which is more attractive. erie
  23. If anyone's interested in some of Gann's work, Andy charts some of it here: http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/Favorites.CServlet?obj=ID1744189 and his blog is here: http://ptv-investing.com/blog/ erie
  24. I don't follow any of that except when a FOMC meeting is. It's just price , $tick and my nightly excel figures.
  25. No , long at 1335 and my exit was at 1341. I didn't see "R" until after the rejection, only seen "S". ( I'm not that good ) erie
