  1. Thanks for that analysis, it confirms my calculation of 1288 as being important tommorrow. Also 1304. erie
  2. Temporarily , of course , buying has in the past occurred at this point. I'm referring to an oversold condition, without getting to much into my definition of oversold ( patterns excluded ) erie
  3. That's all very nice on the NQ, which I realise is your choice to trade. This scenario did not pan out on the YM, or ES. I was waiting for a test of R and price didn't even come close after the open. ( my problem of course ) But that's the way it goes............. Thanks for your detailed charts. erie
  4. Well Wyckoff wrote his course in the 30's. As a student ( I have taken the course ). A lot has changed since then, his course was more specific towards stock trading, but his principles apply today. His main thrust was to understand and study the market. He was adamant that one should learn the "position and probable future trend of the market" ( his words ). It is well known that the market moves from equilibrium to trend. My own humble opinion of course....... erie
  5. Actually Esignal has a tidy efs called price profile, it's free. It gives me 3 days worth and I print it out every night and save it so i can go back weeks if I have to. It is surprising in congestion how accurate it works. And yes one has to get past the jargon , it's only the concepts that give one something to build on. As far as the $Tick is concerned I've noticed a difference ever since the divergence with the $Transports in Oct/07. I'm not sure I understand what you mean about "tendency toward the mean." erie
  6. Ok for me. "a" is an upbar with volume activity not at "R", so I'm not interested. After that price drifts sideways so now I'm really not interested. "b" is a thrust with volume activity. I should have paid attention to this but it doesn't matter to me today. That's why I review after the day's price movement. The top of "b" will be an important potential R for tommorrow. "d" is a potential selling climax at potential support form the previous day's morning session from 5-10 AM. Then the test 5 bars later that confirms support. erie
  7. Not for me, not today. As I gain more experience this may change, but for now I just don't ( haven't seen anything ) see where I like the price action. erie P.S. I do like reading what other's see, but lots of times it just doesn't find favour with me........
  8. Just a comment on today's action. Shoulda , coulda. If price would have continued right up to 1344-5 on the $Spx this morning, I would have had a trade, but since price waffled , I just sat today out. erie
  9. Well , I viewed it probably different as well, only took 2 trades (both long). It might have to do with our maps , only looking for information that is necessary and efficient ( Magee ) I must be missing a third somewhere . I'll keep looking erie
  10. I have to agree, it is as if he is a perfectionist who has honed his skill, but then in this business you better have a firm foundation for what price will throw at you ,or perish. A lot of the principles occur over and over again, such that if you wait , you will be rewarded. No hurries , only in action. This is a very mind stimulating occupation for me. take care everyone erie
  11. Db, How about starting a thread without all the jargon , and then the topic would not derail this thread? I do agree the simpler the better, less involvement mentally ........in trading. erie
  12. Nice effort , should you have put the day in context, regarding previous days with potential support and resistance areas , the chart would be complete. erie
  13. With all due respect and my humble opinion of course, I would never put any faith or give credence to a certain time period for the sake of the hour or minute . Only volume, support and resistance, demand and supply, and the action of price, is necessary for trading techniques. For me that is........ erie
  14. I stumbled upon this site as while ago, and it appears to be well run , with very good forums and good people participating. Haven't been in the chat room yet but I believe one can post charts in it as well ( I may be wrong as I'm slowly finding my way around). take care erie
  15. Nice to see you over here as well Db, I think you may enjoy some of the posts as well as some of the interaction. erie
  16. No chance to change the avatar, but no worries , I don't post that much. The avatar represents my style of trading and is an emotional support to remind me to only take trades when the opportunity arises and not overtrade. Real spiders kinda give me the shivers too, but I can assure you I don't bite. good trading erie
  17. I can give an opinion , but it is biased to way I trade and wouldn't work for others to follow. That said, I don't focus too much on bar by bar analysis but look at price as a movie from left to right. Not saying bar by bar is good to see, but demand and supply can come in at any time and change things. One must be ready to accept that. Price is going to resolve itself here, one way or another and it behooves one to be ready for it. erie
  18. Sure.......We have tested the Aug 16th lows with some activity so we may test the lows again, hopefully on lower volume to be successful. Accumulation and distribution will show itself in the result of this sideways action. Firstly though you should have your price bars one colour so as to see the price range only. The volume bars should be the same colour as well in order to note the amt of volume as activity only. That way one is not thinking in terms of up and down, but what is price and volume doing. Secondly you make up a composite of the Dow stocks to see the real price and the real volume on your charts. That way you know whether there is no demand or no supply at the top /bottom of a swing. Since i'm new here, hello everyone, really like this thread. erie
  19. Some people have two accounts, one for short term and one long term. Naturally the long term would hold overnite and would be a swing trade. I have no reservation holding overnight. erie
