Thanks johnw. Excerpts from the link: “The mind is the maker of fear “ …gonna have to call bs on that one ...paradoxically, I'm not calling bs on what follows that first quote “(The mind is the maker of fear); and when it analyses fear, seeking its cause in order to be free from it, the mind only further isolates itself and thereby increases fear. When you use analysis to resist confusion, you are increasing the power of resistance; and resistance of confusion only increases the fear of it, which hinders freedom. In communion there is freedom, but not in fear."

Turns out I have the only "orphaned limbic system" on TL. Everyone else is healed. I am also the only TL member who doesn’t understand Hayek…Mostly, I can’t seem to make the necessary connections between his various models. Everyone else understands, so if you were to explain you would only be explaining it to one person.

Thanks Rande. I’m running a minor parallel analytical-like process along with the actual processes and questions come up like the following - why just “orphan” as a starting state? is mindlessness, in the ways you are using the term in the course, a key dynamic of “orphan”? or is generalized mindlessness what makes it shadowy ?… ie I’m having some trouble understanding how orphan isn’t always in 'shadow' form (because it is a dev. stage, etc) ??… Links relevant to the course for any of the other participants who are interested honing in on flavors of ‘orphan’ etc. The Agency of the Orphan: Archetypes | Anna Craycroft orphan is preample to the hero’s journey. The first step in generalized hero’s journey is a separation from the ‘whole’ – separation from family, tribe, collective, normalcy, ( self ?) whatever…moving / developing is the ‘journey’ with its inevitable hazards and challenges… and the completion of the journey is a return to what the orphan/hero was separated from ( and also carrying something attained in the journey that the ‘whole’ needs…) The ‘flavors’ of orphan that ‘move’ / develop The Orphan Strikes Back: The Significance of Luke Skywalker's Orphan Origin, by Reihla possibilities and stages of moving from ‘stuck’ orphan Lost and Found: The Orphaned Hero in Myth, Folklore, and Fantasy by Terri Windling: Summer 2007, Journal of Mythic Arts, Endicott Studio widening the context Myss Library | Sacred Contracts | The Four Archetypes of Survival

How to Distinguish Accumulation/Distribution with VSA?
zdo replied to r4bb1t's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
what he said (..except for the last sentence...my ) The broader principles of VSA are Wycoff with a little (or lot of ) extra spin of ‘conspiracy’ mixed in. Plain ole’ Wycoff, etc. is going to give you much better handles on ‘whole chart’ A/D conditions VSA (and related volume) patterns are more valuable for use with only the last 2 (or 3 or 4) patterns to discover current setups instead of higher level / longer term accum. or distrib. -

Week 3 Great session. Thanks, Rande. In my view, this is some real breakthrough work in creating practical access to ‘normals’ for working with material that typically gets stuck in merely the 'theoretical'… Hope Rande has some more material on “shadow” work - Those protective AND regressive tendencies in the background that thrust themselves into the fray when changes are implemented, etc. … I woke up to some of those this morning . Maybe he has already covered it but I’m too slow to have realized what to do. My love for myth, carl, and archetypes is higher than average by a good shot but somehow…some of us are on the blinder, muter, and deafer end of the scale with this ‘inner’ work… especially when it comes to emotions represented by inner ‘figures’.

Will the Germans Really Bring Back the Deutsche Mark?
zdo replied to TheNegotiator's topic in Market News & Analysis
re “some kind of lesson” I’m a ‘economics’ noobie myself… Just starting to look at it. In real time trading, in all but the first few months, while I wanted to know for sure when news or a report was coming out, I have never cared a bit about what the news actually was or which report it was or figuring out what direction its effects might have. ... never extensively put any size on the breakouts (either anticipatory / before or during – less than desirable whiplash stats for me) … instead prefer to play the almost inevitable (at least partial) reversion tendencies… When it comes to understanding ponzi schemes, the public / collective is “all over it” these days. It’s a tiny few exploiting (another slightly larger group but still a) tiny few. I think the masses need to come to the same level of ‘understanding’ about fiat money. It’s a tiny few exploiting all the others in the collective. One marker is that 'fiats' can not be allowed to be voluntary, unlike the ‘village’ / emergent ‘currencies’ in your example. Voluntary fiat doesn’t ‘fiat’. Markets don’t create them. They just adjust and adapt to fiats as best they can … we need to redo the ‘contracts’ re “tell me where you think I'm wrong I'd be much obliged” Ditto. Please you show me where I’m wrong. -
Yes. That is a great book. I have been referring to it about 'trading virtues' for some time now, but had forgotten the title name and author. Thanks. re "To master the market you have to master your self" "To align with the market you have to align with your self" is a little bit better fit for me... 'Control' is still a major player, but is in a more realistic position...etc.

 Thanks… but no need to go to S.A. Could sit right here and ‘commit suicide without really trying’… or… ... bobc twin, stop asking me to fkn talk to you ‘normal’ We don’t have time for that. Are you thoroughly and gratefully dead? How many times have you practiced dying? How many times have you died?

Maybe you could extend your OP and also tell us what you do care about so ppl won't be wasting your precious time asking you about areas you don't care about. and btw I would have been surprised if you had a unique answer to the question even if you did 'care about it' ... it can't hurt (much) to ask though :ciao:

bobc, ...talking about potential for true health... in 'trading', but not just in trading... depending on the aspect perspective, it goes under different handles... "effortless high performance", etc. etc. What the ..... are you talking about?? To me, it's starting to look like past a certain point , "talking " can become an obstacle for participants. re: "I understand I am only allowed to ask questions" In the ideal only those who are active in the course would be posting in this thread... but conversations about the underlying principles and issues being presented are not being censored. Plus :helloooo: another new or existing thread is only a couple clicks away... same or new and different players would jump right in if you push the right buttons. zdo

Finally got around to skimming some of the recent ‘argument’ postings - The phrase “fear based patterns” is emphasized and all of a sudden we see all kinds of dancing around… we’re reminded that “fear can be useful” and that it’s “not the tremble in your boots type fear” necessarily, and “Fear is just not the overriding emotion in trading that it's made out to be” etc etc. Toss in a few dispersions about the “failures” seeking help in such services – when in reality most of (and certainly the best) clients of coaching and trading syschologists are already high in the pareto – and the whole thread is dragged back into a misguided focus. Folks, a broad physical, mental, soul, and spirit orientation exists which is based in ‘creative opportunity based patterns’. About one percent of the human population currently ‘has got it going on’. At the ‘first body’ level / physically / neurologically the “amygdali” (and associated regions - actually every 'cell') literally do a habitual 180 in orientation (without loss of the threat based option when it’s needed, btw)…parallel shifts occur in other ‘bodies’, mental, etc … Globally, many previous identifications are simply (but not necessarily easily) dropped, etc. This thread is for those who are interested in that. It is not for those who are interested in manipulating, explaining, surviving, etc. “fear based patterns” All the best, zdo

I almost always enter a smattering of fx range breakout orders on Friday. This morning I woke up to a ‘windfall’ from japan and england. Then all the daytrades went off without a single hitch except for one - and that one just went off (at a reduced profit) just a few minutes ago. When I have a great day, just from general memory I am aware that of many possible bifurcations for the next day One possibility is anxiety that there is a script running in the darkness that will ambush me tomorrow Another possibility is over confidence and complacency Another possibility – no carryover at all (Note: The above list is not inclusive / complete.) I’m gifted at spotting polarity dynamics - but I’m struggling with the ‘anthro…’ archetypes. The question is how do I tie these (and other unlisted possibilities) to “members of the committee” ???

re: I appreciate any efforts you are putting into getting us in touch with each other. Maybe invite them to http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/TradersStateOfMind/ see post #25 of this thread if link didn't come through focused, committed - no nonsense there… thx again re and... “The threshold of pain is the threshold of performance” ..not about beliefs about my self at this time, but... I'm leaving for the weekend wondering how I could develop some mindfulness of how each of my market beliefs / biases gets built. The largely unconconsious process of constructing a bias proceeds in 'steps' ( like mysterious quanta) from an imperceptible idea to limbo possibility, to a full (sometimes operational and sometimes costly and unnecessary? ) belief ... and then ( whether its right or wrong, btw) ultimately to a shattering ... rinse and repeat. Have a great weekend all. zdo

Anyone up here on TL specializing in trading the higher interest paying pairs (for the interest) ?? big picture, methods and techniques stuff you can share ?? thx. For example, I've had some good results using cycles with pairs long the AUS, NZD and also, for the last 15 months or so, the INR. For INR, the spreads / transaction costs are abysimal...but interest payments are great and more than offset costs if hold for longer period. Any pro's or specialist who can contribute some insights into playing the high rate countries?? Many thanks.

Will the Germans Really Bring Back the Deutsche Mark?

Precisely. Looks like some other things did evaporate overnight though One Day After The Euphoria, Here Comes The Hangover | ZeroHedge "Europe is] a monument to the vanity of intellectuals, a programme whose inevitable destiny is failure: only the scale of the final damage is in doubt" M. Thatcher from http://dailycapitalist.com/2011/10/27/a-brief-guide-to-the-euro-crisis/ -
Yep, the OP was about adding the EUR to a very short list. It used to be just the USD but now I love to see both the EUR and USD rally so I can short them. They take turns leading in the long race to the bottom. Will keep going to the well until it’s dry or poison… So climb! Climb high little euro!
