Intensity, Intelligent Agents, Synergy & 2 Great Hours Today
zdo replied to UrmaBlume's topic in General Trading
Here’s BF point from way back early in the thread… 14 trades – all winners. Not the slightest consideration (mental or coding) of ‘commercials’ or even volume (nope -bottom indicator ain’t volume…) no Heads Up Display no cross time frame, etc Intelligent Agents – except the ones inside my head and they aren’t that bright no intensity readings… not rocket science… if I can do it, many of the traders who are a lot smarter than me on here can too… btw normally style on price chart is not +'s ... temporarily changed it for comparison purposes... -
Intensity, Intelligent Agents, Synergy & 2 Great Hours Today
zdo replied to UrmaBlume's topic in General Trading
UB, I agree with TMBTC... posting PM's without their agreements is south of slimeball. Also, really you could have spent about the same amount of energy as with the posting in privately discussing and comparing concepts with Boomerangas about his questions without giving away an 'edge'. You come on here like you're going to contribute, someone like a Boomerangas asks some specifics, you backhand him, then have the nerve to get all self righteous... small wonder more and more are feeling your posts are at least a waste of time... if not worse... I do 'understand' proprietary. My understanding, gained from experience, is that most public discussions of 'edges' are a waste of time. Many private ones are too. But... Here's an actionable + for your charts - please recruit elsewhere... thx -

Tams, that was not my impression of it - however they may have changed it since I was last on. Will check it out... cunparis, et al Let's put together and publish a generic template for one of these in EL first. Then from that foundation, we all can develop and or collaborate. Find attached picture of what may (or may not) be a facsimile of ...tweet.ocm logic It is based on very simple O C algo that can be used anywhere (even fx) I'm quite sure this is more crude than what they are doing but it is more likely to start sounds when they do than PaceOfTape (in haste and error I likened tweet to PaceOfTape yesterday - wrong) This way may actually be way off and totally bogus ... it’s just a guess at the simplest generic solution (ie different from the ideas discussed yesterday) so at least we'd have a functional template going... 'noises' start outside the lines and intensify with bar height... it's not letting me post attachments right now ?? so will post picture later Cunparis, are you using OctalSound20.dll. a PlaySound Replacement DLL "...TradeStation’s PlaySound has a small performance issue. Each time a sound is played it reads the sound from your hard drive and plays the sound. So we wrote a DLL which would load a sound into memory from the hard drive once and play the sound from memory each time requested thus saving lots of hard drive reads over a day. " Thread discussing the issue: https://www.tradestation.com/Discussions/Topic.aspx?Topic_ID=59310 and file at https://www.tradestation.com/Discussions/Topic.aspx?Result=1&Topic_ID=95248

Again - are you asking how to make the sounds or the logic they are using to trigger them? If you're asking how to make the sounds - dll's and wavefile templates are available in TS forum If you're asking about the logic - My impressions of it (and it's been a while since I was on ) is it's simply a directional and lagging* 'pace of tape' http://www.traderslaboratory.com/forums/f46/pace-tape-measure-trade-intensity-detect-7917.html (*the lagging could be from iLatency or from a higher threshold filter... never found out) Best way to see it 'historically' would be to ADE it... ... I have some (slightly more complex) ideas re one of these. However, to implement one, I would almost certainly have to get programmer involved - so can't participate in an 'open' project. If you (and / or a couple others who are into EL development) want to make a project of this, PM me...

cunparis, What platform are you on? Are you asking how they play the 'tweets'? or Are you asking what their logic is for popping, etc.? zdo

Preface: My qualifications to answer this question are low. I know nothing about the site or provider and have no intention of seeking any information. I’ve only done on-line training one time and he fired me in less than a month… I haven’t been to any live workshops or trainings since like 1993 – but did aplenty before then and 95% of them were a complete waste of money and time for me… “Consistent profits originate from valid beliefs – not knowledge of the markets.” John Hayden The question I would ask myself is - Am I relatively certain that $6000 + will buy me $6000 + worth of valid beliefs? Or am I going to have to develop those beliefs independently - whether I buy this service or not?

'All negative emotion is expressed as flexion” Moshe Feldenkrais, Anatomy trains: myofascial meridians ... - Google Books “All…” is not entirely accurate – but it’s still close enough to be a general rule. The point is - (even subtle) habitual flexion binds flow… and without flow one cannot consistently stay near the top of the ‘pareto’ of traders…

From the “Single Largest Roadblock” thread gandalf33, Have you read Mark Douglas or been to one of his workshops? Solid foundations for the ‘thinking’ aspect of those factors mentioned by MadMktScientist, etc... http://www.woodiescciclub.com/Lectures/mark-douglas/index.htm http://www.woodiescciclub.com/Lectures/mark-douglas/august-2005.htm I still set an appointment to listen to these one morning a year ... whether I need to or not... I think it was Larry Williams who suggested going and playing slots for days and days as a way of desensitizing… if I were doing that, I would also try to remind myself just before every pull that “this is a trade” Playing poker with stakes I seriously didn’t want to lose helped me a lot at a specific juncture with this issue… fold….fold… fold….fold… fold… fold…call...fold….fold… fold….fold… fold… fold … get the picture? Note poker is a ‘different’ game – but still it’s subject to the basic ‘pain makes you stupid’ and ‘learning how to lose’ rules Ultimately though, I think it is best just intending and practicing to get better and better at taking losses in real trading...becoming aware of the idiosyncracies of your own patterns...ferreting all of them out too ( because there's always more than one)... preparing ahead of time to recover more quickly than ever before...'working through' attachments... yada yada...

Andrew Lo This Is Your Brain on Prosperity: Andrew Lo on Fear, Greed, and Crisis Management - Freakonomics Blog - NYTimes.com Not wanting to ‘be wrong’ is crucial part of it, but in my experience the right / wrong is just one of a simultaneous and varying four pack of factors... Some of us come to trading with these ‘threat associations’ globalized, ubiquitous, and at the ready… each threat joins a crescendo triggering associations with ALL other threats past (and ‘future’ / projected), Each loss is associated with, yes, even a painful death itself…with most of the ‘action’ occurring in surges of consciousness, then ‘repression’, suppresson, what not… (…my guess is about 78% of any current generation/population of traders fall into a gradient of this group…) Some traders come with associations but they are less universal, lower quantity (…I estimate about 19% of any current generation/population of traders fits into a gradient of this group…) And a few come with very few of these ‘associations’ / triggers… (roughly 3% … how do you spell paretopareto?... ) This can serve as a scale of the ‘emotional vulnerability’ of a trader…it’s kind of scary - a huge percentage of seriously self honest traders could not accurately say in which group they would really be if they were hooked up to biofeedback….) …factors of genetics AND learning…but not the kinds of learning limited to cognitive functions and ‘discipline’ … ‘thinking’ can help but to believe that thinking alone can ameliorate these vulnerabilities is naïve and misguided…

Across time, the single largest roadblock standing in the way of my trading success was keeping losers too long. Frequency of that mistake has thankfully dropped off precipitously in the last 10 - 15 years. These days, most of my systems have me out before the stop is hit , but some systems still have no stops at all. And on those I am occasionally still tempted to hang in with a loser, especially during long win runs... that fuzzy, sometimes ignored, and sometimes low-perceptible little line between confidence and hubris...

'Global Debt is a Holocaust Waiting to Happen.’
zdo replied to Ed Goldstein's topic in Market News & Analysis
Fiat money is the holocrush waiting to happen. To me, that is more accurate. The world is currently packed with ‘paper bugs’… and getting more and more unbalanced. All the nominal ‘debt’ is just an effect, a symptom, a ‘logical’ exploitation of the existing paradigms and systems… Ideally, the holocrush would be peaceful and seamless. If history is any indication, it won’t be… the ‘prophets’ will get it right one more time… it’s funny how all prophesies ultimately come true over and over again…unspeakable horrors… sad for all the ‘innocent’ peeps…- 15 replies

re "keep track of other markets than the one I will be day trading " I vote none - no other markets... unless you're arbing or spreading or have a natural knack for cross market work... For me, the 'leads' and 'lags' have not proven to be sufficiently and consistently reliable At times, for example, the NQ will lead immaculately then just as suddenly as it started it stops or becomes a 'trick that keeps on tricking' ....
