I scored a Subscale IQ score of 123. Subscale percentile = 95 According to your self-report answers, your emotional intelligence is good. People who score like you do feel that they have little trouble understanding and dealing with their own emotions and those of others. They generally are able to overcome difficulties in their lives and they are able to control their moods in all but the most trying of times. It’s easy for them to motivate themselves to overcome obstacles and reach their goals. In addition, they find social interactions to be quite easy and fulfilling, for several reasons. They are comfortable allowing themselves to get close with others, and feel comfortable being vulnerable enough to establish intimacy. They also report having an easy time offering support to others; this is likely due to an empathetic nature and a clear mind when it comes to offering good advice.

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
That One Guy replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
I find some things very interesting on this weekly DJIA chart. One being the obvious, we clearly broke a key area noted with the first red arrow. Now we are nearing another key level, which was the low of last year. If the volume is correct, this week was the highest seen on this chart, which goes back to Jan. 05. Another thing I find interesting, is we retested that key level to the $ and sold straight off. The huge volume throws a flag up and the fact we are nearing 12000 and 07 low also throws a flag up. If I am to suspect this week showed some buying, I guess a test of the 07 low is in store. However, if this test fails then we could have a long way to fall. I am by no means a VSA expert, so if any of you guys with more knowledge care to comment please do so. Thanks for the time and everyone have a great weekend. -
[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
That One Guy replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
Drawing a trend line from march to august and extending it into the future, shows this weeks action tested the line. However, the volume was extremely high. How do we view this? If this was a test, wouldn't the volume be much lower? Maybe this is a failed test and they need to mark down more to wash out all the sellers. Next week will tell us more about the bigger picture. It may get ugly if they break that march low. -
Okay, I trade with Vsa and my post shows you how easy the professionals kill us in these markets. It's so easy for them to markup a sector and have it look unstoppable. However, catching a so much weakness on these solar charts my short term views changed. I just thought it was funny that I follow VSA and believe in how the markets really work, but I still was damn tricked into thinking it was up up up from here!! I personally believe that vsa is the key to success because there are sooo many pros in this market and soo many time when prices haul ass, but the result from the effort to go up is down. Earning blow out, but prices sell off? I don't know im a pawn in this chess game, but Id like to know what the king and queen are doing. ps. i've been drinking so if above comment don't make sense I'm sorry

Yeah you hit the nail on the head man. I'll will just attend to what I do and nothing else. I'll use him to learn what not to do, since he does the stuff that ruins people. He actual might have been one of the best tools for training me. It's one thing to read about people blowing out there accounts, buts it a whole other deal to experience or see it first hand.

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
That One Guy replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
Marketguy, is what you speak of, the same for down WRB's? The picture attached shows the QQQQ daily. It pushes through support with huge volume. However, it closes 19 cents off the low. One thing I would like to point out is, that on the 15 min chart, there was a huge volume spike. It took place in the last 15 minutes of the real market being open. Followed by the rest of the after hours session moving higher. Would this suggest overall weakness in the market, but a slight pop on Monday? I found Friday to be a very interesting day. The bad NFP report, plus the key break of support with so much force, could spell trouble here for the Nasdaq and the overall market. -
Anyone see AKNS? Freaking solar is tech boom like man. I know someone who was in this stock at 8.36 with a target of 15.50. Looks like he will hit his target today. Freaking crazy!!!!!
-
Anything solar was hot today and has been hot for a while now. One questions, that if these things are in a serious bubble. I wasn't around for the 99 tech boom. However, after looking at charts from back then, prices can just keep going and going for a long time. Some solar stocks that are hot are as follows: Fslr, Solf, Csiq, Csun, Spwr, Akns, Yge and im sure there are more. Tempting to start calling tops, but something tells me I may be averaging in for a long time. Good luck to anyone trading these things.

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
That One Guy replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
I find it funny, that there is no volume for the cash indexes. I, still haven't been able to find the real answer. I did, however, ask someone and they said to compose your own index. Adding all the stocks together that make up the particular index. Truthfully, I have no idea if this can be done. I'm sure one of the guys on this thread may have more insight. Anyway, have a great new year, and a great time trading. -
Thanks for the advice everyone. Trading hasn't really ever stressed me out, all that much. However, when trying to set my father in the right direction, this has caused stress. I'm just going to prove it to him with own success overtime. Thanks everyone and have a great Holiday and a Happy new year.

I don't, understand why folks think the markets are random. What is the real definitions of random in the markets? I really don't know, but often when I view stocks and put random lines of support and resistance they seem to go back for years and be in play. If the markets were really random, would these lines really be in play for 30 or so years? I dunno, more I follow these markets, the more I learn to love VSA. It, just seems so right, it makes me giggle. If, I had millions, why wouldn't, I take advantage of the f*cking idiots? Follow my post in the Docs, thread and you will see my thinking to this. Happy holidays and a happy new years.' Ps. I, am, intoxicated!!!

Hey, Doc. I may have a problem. I have a problem, where I have a father who has all the trading problems I have learned to disagree with. He is 50 years old and I am 21, why is it that, I often talk down on his trades. I, tell him him he should take profits and should do this and that. He often gets angry and discouraged with my comments. My, mother will often come to me and tell me to stay out of it. What should I do here, I feel like he has become the herd and just reacts like most others, so I tell him no don't do this. However, with life in general, it seems most people are the herd and theres no hope. Is there anything I can do to just slow this thought process down or just forget about it? One thing is, my dad doesn't make a living off trading, it's just hard to see someone, that got you into the idea fail so hard. Any info will help, Also being drunk this week, I seem to get very one sided and caused a problem. I know alcohol seems to blame, but my father has been trading the same way for 20 years. I dunno, merry Christmas and a happy new years to all, but this stuff just throws me off. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciated it. :crap:

All right brain here. I tried to see it counter clockwise, nothing. Oh well, happy holidays everyone!!

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I

Yeah, those points are some of the reasons I am moving towards a bigger time frame and bigger stops/targets with vsa. The higher time frames give me more time to see the bigger picture and also more time to plan the trade out. Watching for VSA in the stock market on 60 min daily and weekly charts, is also showing some great opportunities. Only problem is scanning for good candidates. :crap: Either way, everyone have a happy holiday and a wonderful new year. -
Yeah, I feel lost without the old chatroom.

Wow, did anyone see Rimm after hours? Stock exploded $12 after they released there earnings. I have been bullish on this thing since the 100 level, too bad my stock account is currently unfunded. Oh, well if anyone was invested in this thing good time to realize some profits.

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I

Good job on that trade tawe. I was watching the 30 min chart and went long around that area. I closed my position for 89 tick gain. -
I grabbed this thing off ebay, for $60. I'll give it a go for 90 days and if it doesn't show some form of improvement I'll just get my money back.

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I
That One Guy replied to TinGull's topic in Volume Spread Analysis
What about that big up bar with high volume. Doesn't vsa tell us this is potential weakness? Then, there is an upthrust, which almost confirms the weakness. I am new to VSa, but the little info I have read tells me this. On my 10 min ym chart, the bar after the huge spread bar on high volume, makes a new high on much less volume. Then a huge upthrust, I spotted this all in real time, but was just a spectator and did not trade it. :crap: Either way, great thread keep up the good work everyone. -
I actually did a demo of one of the exercises, and it seemed like with continued use it would almost program you to think as a successful trader should. They claim all one needs is 24 minutes a week, and I guess any training activity done for extended period of time, in theory should work. So, either way thanks for the replies to the thread, has been very helpful. Thanks

Thanks for the help, I may just try to train myself. I've been making a journal of my trades with camtasia and a microphone, and I can already see some of my problems. So anyway, thanks for the help.

Just curious if anyone has any experience with Trading Mind software. It is a cd with 10 exercises to train your mind, for trading. Since, I do believe that one must master himself before mastering the markets, I would like to check this out. If anyone has any experience with this software or anything else like this, it would be greatly appreciated. website link http://www.directyourmind.com/tradingmind.html Thanks

[VSA] Volume Spread Analysis Part I

Yeah, I'm glad I found this method. It's what I have been looking for since I began trading. Great job on the daily analysis, keep up the great work. Thank you. -
Yeah, this thing is first Chinese stock that has been added to the nasdaq 100. Wow. It sucks you missed it, but there will be other trades.

Nice, thanks for the advice everyone. I have come across tick and price divergence, but most of it was in hindsight. The ticks change so fast sometimes and that causes me to re-think entries, which leaves me with no trades. I have taking a big liking to volume particularly VSA. Anyway, thanks everyone for the help.
